As expected from a Michelin-listed ramen shop. The rich and flavorful broth, paired with chewy curly noodles. Unique chashu and menma. Everything about this ramen was delicious. I chose this place for my first meal on my trip to Hokkaido. I took a bus from New Chitose Airport to Chitose Station, then walked through snowy streets to get there. Arrived 10 minutes before opening on a Friday, and was 6th in line. The shop opened right at 11:00, with a total of 7 people in line at that time. The interior was stylish and very clean. The counter had 6 seats, possibly reduced to 5 for COVID measures. There were two 4-person tables. The soy sauce ramen was 800 yen. The noodles were firm with a soft texture, and the hot and creamy soup was incredibly delicious. Rich in flavor with no off-tastes, just pure umami. Finely chopped onions in the center added a nice texture and a touch of sweetness and spiciness. And the chashu was amazing! Thick cuts with a tender, almost corned beef-like texture, packed with flavor. I've never had chashu like this before. The menma was cut thick, allowing for a satisfying chewiness, and had a sweet seasoning. I found a really great restaurant for my first meal in Hokkaido.

On the final day of my trip to Hokkaido, I thought about ending it at the Ramen Street in New Chitose Airport, but decided to make the most of my rental car and expanded my search. That's when I discovered "Menya Urara" where some people I follow have visited before. When I arrived at 10:20 am, there were already 7 people in line! By the time they opened at 11 am, the line had grown to about 30 people. I'm glad I came early. The miso ramen (large portion) was 1,100 yen and the shoyu ramen was 910 yen. The miso ramen had boiled cabbage as a topping, while the shoyu ramen had seaweed and green onions. It seemed like the spicy miso with wood ear mushrooms was popular among others. My miso ramen had a rich soup and miso combination, more towards a rich soup flavor rather than Sapporo miso. My companion's shoyu ramen had a unique flavor with the rich soup and soy sauce matching perfectly. The miso ramen was delicious, but next time I want to try the shoyu ramen. Thank you for the meal. If I have the chance, I will visit again.

Located at 4-2-10 Takadai, Chitose City, Hokkaido, a 15-minute walk from JR Chitose Station. Chitose City doesn't have many tall buildings, probably due to its proximity to the airport. It gives off a tranquil residential area vibe. While strolling leisurely, enjoying the early autumn breeze and the sound of insects, I stumbled upon a popular restaurant, "Menya Rei." I visited around 11 o'clock, and there was already a line of more than 10 people waiting outside, mostly couples. After a 40-minute wait, I finally got inside. Despite being in Hokkaido, I decided to try their signature soy sauce ramen with seasoned boiled egg topping. The soup was rich in seafood umami, with a prominent flavor of dried sardines. It had a thick consistency and a strong presence, but not overpowering. The noodles were not too thick, slightly on the thinner side. The thick slices of chashu provided a satisfying chew. They were tender and crumbled like braised pork belly. As other reviewers mentioned, the seafood aroma was quite noticeable. It was different from what I imagined a soy sauce ramen to be, as it had a rich and hearty character. I would describe it as a blend of rich seafood and pork bone soy sauce soup! (laughs)

Soy sauce ramen costs 830 yen. The staff meal rice costs 400 yen. The total is 1250 yen excluding tax. I waited in line a bit on Friday after 1 pm. The ramen has a sweet soup with a scent of boiled fish. It's smooth and the chashu is very tender, although not very flavorful. The staff meal rice is like a mini pork bowl with quite a bit of rice. It tastes average. It seems like there is not much meat, so the cost performance may not be good. The ramen has a unique soup that is very delicious. It's hard to go there because it's far away, there's a line, the parking lot is full, and the business hours are short, but it's worth it for a meal.

Hokkaido Wandering Journey 128 Chitose City "Ramen Hyakumeiten" At the opening of the restaurant, customers start to gather. I was the first one to enter the store. This is a ramen shop representing Chitose City, listed in the Michelin Guide, so it uses no artificial seasonings. The stylish interior and soft seats are managed by a young couple. The soy sauce ramen costs ¥830 (excluding tax) and has a mild soup that blends well with the flavors. The slightly curly noodles, cooked firm, are also excellent. The two thick slices of chashu pork and menma are delicious. Overall, I was very satisfied, except for the lack of air conditioning.

When I came to the Chitose area, I had tried to visit this place several times but the parking lot was always full or there was a long line, so I gave up. Today, miraculously, the parking lot was empty. There were only two people waiting outside. With the heatstroke alert in effect, I thought maybe I shouldn't have ramen today, but the place was not crowded, so I decided to line up. I got the miso ramen. First, the soup. Delicious! The chashu was also tasty! But something felt off. People often talk about how the wheat-scented noodles are good, but I'm not that much of a foodie, so I prefer the noodles to be less overpowering than the soup. The thick menma could use a bit more flavor. However, I was sweating profusely while eating, so my taste buds may have been affected. When I finished eating and went outside, there was a long line. I was lucky to have eaten at the perfect time. Thank you for the meal.

Visit on 8/22/2023 (Tue) at 9:58. There was no line, so I waited at the front for the opening. I visited two days ago, but they were temporarily closed, so I came back. They were open this time. At 10:30, there was one person in line. At 10:50, there were five people in line. I placed my order for shoyu ramen (910 yen) and seasoned egg (140 yen). At 11:58, the shop opened. The inside was full, with about 10 people waiting in line. It seemed like the line grew rapidly in the 10 minutes before opening. At 11:02, my ramen arrived. Since I had ordered in advance, it came quickly. The soup was a balanced fish and pork bone broth, not too rich. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles. Even for a regular ramen, there were two large slices of chashu, one of which was about 1 cm thick. I thought the chashu was a good deal for 950 yen. When I left, the line had grown to about 20 people.

I visited a ramen shop that is always crowded with long lines. I arrived at the shop at 11:10 am and there were already 10 people waiting in line. The shop had a counter with 7 seats and two tables for 4 people each. I am not good with spicy food, but the reviews recommended the spicy ramen, so I asked the staff for advice. They said it was moderately spicy, so I reluctantly ordered the miso ramen. My friend ordered the soy sauce ramen. Our ramen arrived in less than 10 minutes after we sat down. Despite its oily appearance, the ramen was surprisingly light and easy to eat. The most surprising part was the chashu (sliced pork). It was so tender and flavorful. The soup had a thick texture that coated the noodles well, and I found myself finishing it quickly. I was also impressed by the reasonable prices. Considering the current ramen trend, I would have expected to pay at least 1200 yen for such a meal. I definitely want to visit this shop again!

The conclusion is "extremely delicious." Despite arriving at the shop at 2:00 PM the day before and not being able to eat due to soup running out, I was able to enter when I arrived at 2:00 PM the next day. Based on reviews, soy sauce ramen is recommended, but I ordered miso ramen with green onion topping and a staff meal. The miso ramen has a strong miso flavor, similar to a subtle violet taste. The main difference is that there is no lard film. While miso ramen in the Sumire style has a lard film, making it greasy, this one is not greasy. It includes cabbage as an ingredient. I was worried that the cabbage might dilute the soup, but it's fine. The strong base makes the sweetness of the cabbage stand out. The chashu is tender and satisfying. Since the chashu flavor is not too strong, it pairs well with the miso taste. It was a bit disappointing that the menma sank to the bottom of the noodles. I would have liked to enjoy the texture and taste of the menma separately. Since the miso flavor is strong, I recommend adding green onions if you like them. The noodles are a bit firm, different from the unique texture of Sapporo ramen noodles. The staff meal is like imagining a soy sauce-based pork belly and vegetable stir-fry rice bowl. The pork belly is replaced with chashu, and the only vegetable is onion. It's delicious and a great deal for 400 yen. I was full with the items I ordered this time. I usually eat a lot compared to others, but this time I was satisfied with what I ordered. The staff meal may be sold out (it seemed like I was the last one this time, as people who entered later and ordered were turned away). The person next to me ordered soy sauce ramen, and the presentation was beautiful, so next time I want to try the soy sauce ramen.

Visited just before the usual opening time at around 10:55. Already a line of over 15 people. Couldn't get in on the first round, but surprisingly the turnover was good, waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Another 10 minutes or so to get the bowl. Had the soy sauce ramen (¥910-) and the staff meal rice (¥440-). The most popular soy sauce ramen was very delicious. The homemade roasted pork was tasty, but the soup was the highlight. It was much richer than the usual soy sauce flavor, but not overwhelming, and refreshing. From the roasted pork to the seaweed, bamboo shoots, and green onions, every ingredient was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Reirei again, which was delicious as always. It was a hot summer weekday at 11:30, and the one-hour wait was really hot! It seems that with the end of the COVID period, tourists have returned to Hokkaido, making this restaurant near New Chitose Airport quite popular. I forgot to bring a drink, so during the wait, I bought a drink from the vending machine in front of the store. Since you have to stand in line alone, one person cannot wait in the car, and it tests your patience to eat delicious ramen in the scorching heat. The same goes for cold weather, so it might be a bit tough for families with children. This time, I ordered the miso tsukemen that I had wanted to try before. Tsukemen takes longer to serve than other ramen as indicated on the menu. Now, for the actual eating. I had forgotten that the noodles are quite thick, and since I was hungry, ordering 300g of noodles made me too full and uncomfortable. I usually eat a decent amount, but I think 200g of noodles is a more comfortable amount to enjoy. The chashu is tender and easy to chew, but quite thick. I regretted my order amount in the second half. Also, please note that they only accept cash for payment. You cannot use a card, so be careful! I tried both the regular ramen and tsukemen. Next time, I think I'll order the regular ramen! Thank you for the delicious ramen in the hot and crowded store.

Today, I went on a trip to Chitose and visited Menya Uruoi. Despite waiting for an hour under the scorching sun, there was only one chef in the kitchen and one staff member in the dining area. From 11:00 to 15:00, they handled a constant stream of customers while maintaining such high quality, which is truly impressive. I ordered the miso ramen in large size, and the chashu was huge! The addition of cabbage or lettuce was a nice touch. The ramen was extremely rich and delicious. It's a bit different from Sapporo miso ramen. I enjoyed it so much that I finished every last bit. Please take care of yourself and I look forward to eating here again.

I arrived a little after 11 o'clock and there were about 8 people lined up in front of me. The turnover rate was not very high, so I waited for about 30 minutes. I ordered soy sauce ramen with seasoned egg and menma toppings, as well as miso ramen. Personally, I thought the soy sauce ramen was delicious. The miso ramen had a typical miso flavor, while the soy sauce ramen had a rich taste. I added a little garlic and it was tasty. The chashu was thickly sliced and there were 2 pieces, providing a good amount of meat. It was very tender and flavorful. The seasoned egg was average. The menma was thick and satisfying to eat. The noodles had a unique texture - slightly chewy with a bit of a rubbery feel. It was still tasty though. Overall, it was a rich and flavorful bowl of ramen.

Delicious. I had delicious ramen after a long time. It is rich but not too heavy with plenty of umami. I had the most popular soy sauce flavor, while my child had miso. The soy sauce flavor is full of umami. There is a lot of chashu and the menma is excellent. The miso has a rich flavor with plenty of ginger. I happened to stop by for lunch in Chitose and it was a wonderful encounter. I want to go again.

When I visited Hokkaido before, I came to this udon restaurant right before catching my flight back to Tokyo, only to find out that it was temporarily closed. I was so upset but there was nothing I could do, so I sadly went back. This time, I called in advance to confirm and finally made it to the restaurant. When I arrived by taxi, there was a long line of over 10 people in front of the store. With my flight time approaching, I was unsure what to do but after discussing with my friends, we decided to wait in line for up to an hour. After nervously waiting for 40 minutes, we were called inside the restaurant and luckily got a booth seat with my friend. I ordered the "Chashu Ramen" which was not on the menu but they said they could make it for me. After about 10 minutes, the ramen arrived. It was a luxurious bowl with 10 slices of chashu. The soup was a rich fish and pork bone broth, the menma was thick, and the noodles were thinner than I expected. The impact of the chashu was overwhelming and although my friend, who is younger, enjoyed it, I found it a bit too heavy to finish. Each component was delicious but the chashu was too much for me. It's not the restaurant's fault, it's my own fault for choosing the chashu ramen. I wonder about the balance of this dish. Next time, I will go for a regular ramen.

Spicy miso ramen with flavored egg topping, around ¥1100. The cabbage was surprisingly large. The soup was delicious but unfortunately not hot enough. The soup cooled down even more due to the temperature of the chashu, which was also disappointing. The soup was rich and flavorful, hard to believe it was free of additives. The portion was more than expected and quite filling. The wait was around 20 minutes, I think.

In Chitose's top 100 restaurants, we lined up under the scorching sun with high expectations. Even though it was past 1:30 pm, the line didn't seem to end. The restaurant is run by a couple who handle everything smoothly - from seating, serving water, taking orders, serving food, to payment. I, a soy sauce lover, couldn't decide between soy sauce and miso, but ended up choosing soy sauce. We also shared a staff meal bowl. The soy sauce tonkotsu seafood ramen was delicious, with rich soup and tender chashu. The noodles were a bit too firm for my liking, but still tasty. Towards the end, the soup suddenly developed a strong fishy taste, which was unexpected. The staff meal bowl was good, but I wish it had a different sauce for the chashu. Overall, it was a delicious ramen worth waiting in line for, but the sudden fishy taste at the bottom was disappointing.

I arrived early and was able to get a seat for the first round. I ordered soy sauce ramen with menma topping and a side of rice, which was a fantastic combination. The soup was rich and flavorful. Eating the white rice from the side dish soaked in the soup was delicious. The chashu was thick and tasty, not thin in flavor at all. It was tender and the fatty part was also delicious. Having two thick slices of chashu felt like a great deal. The thick menma filled me up. It's not easy to come across such a wonderful ramen like this.

I waited for about 20 minutes in the scorching sun. There were also a few customers from overseas, and I became convinced that ramen will be chosen as one of the world's top three cuisines in the near future. I tried the miso, soy sauce, and staff meal, but personally, I prefer miso by far. The chicken white broth-based soup was thick and the chashu was very delicious and satisfying. The staff meal was average. Thank you for the meal.

I used to say that I wouldn't revisit a local restaurant, but I actually visited it a long time ago. I came to Chitose back then and even ate a large portion. I was picked up at the airport and was told, "Let's drink in Sapporo after picking you up in Chitose." I was feeling picky and didn't want to eat at the dojo, but I wanted to eat ramen. So, despite being a popular place for me, I wasn't really feeling it. Among the various restaurants, there are those I never want to visit again and those I want to revisit, such as "Takahashi," "Yuji," "Keserashera," and "Rei." So, "Rei" is one of those places. This time, I had tsukemen. The noodles are thick, which I'm not a fan of, but the soup is rich and full of flavor. It has a strong umami taste and a great chicken broth flavor. It's still delicious. I can understand why I didn't like it before, maybe because I ordered a large portion of the rich ramen. I used to enjoy it until halfway through. Also, I think this kind of rich soup might go well with tsukemen.

I didn't like the noodles or the soup. The first time I arrived before opening, but they were unexpectedly closed. The second time, despite waiting outside in the rain for an hour after they opened, I was disappointed. The staff meal was delicious, but I wouldn't wait in line just to eat the staff meal.
