Located in Susukino, Sapporo, Hokkaido, "TRATTORIA DA OKUMURA" is a restaurant where you can casually enjoy delicious classic Italian dishes a la carte. Tucked away in the basement, the chef gives off the impression of either an opera singer or a talented chef. Having visited Italy frequently, the chef prepares dishes that truly capture the essence of authentic Italian cuisine. On this particular day, I tried the "Grilled Milanese-style White Asparagus." This dish features white asparagus from Bassano, Veneto, drizzled with olive oil and topped with a fried egg and cheese. It may seem simple, but it allows you to savor the rich flavor and sweetness of the white asparagus. While Hokkaido's white asparagus is delicious in its own right, the asparagus from Bassano offers a more intense taste and aroma that truly embodies the essence of asparagus. It seems that the asparagus from Bassano arrives in Sapporo within 3 days. I enjoyed this dish with a glass of wine. Thank you for the meal.

I have a personal standard of not rating trattorias with limited space as 4 or above, but this one deserves a 4 based on taste alone. It is simply delicious. First of all, the chef's skill level is above average, and the ingredients are mostly from Hokkaido, which is also above average. The cheese, olive oil, and other ingredients may be cheaper and better quality in Italy, but fresh cheese, hard cheese, and prosciutto from Japan are improving year by year. I think you could easily spend less than 8,000 yen for a meal with the dishes and two glasses of wine shown in the photo. In Italy, it would likely cost over 10,000 yen. Oh, Hokkaido is so nice!

The air conditioning balance inside the restaurant was poor and it was uncomfortably humid. Also, the lighting was limited in certain areas making it difficult to see the food clearly. I ordered three dishes: cold eggplant with Parmesan and bottarga pasta, Suzuki and mussel oven-baked pasta, and Suzuki with well-balanced seasoning that brought out the umami flavor. The texture of the Suzuki's muscle meat paired exceptionally well! The saltiness was a bit strong, which may be due to the chef sweating a lot in the hot kitchen, affecting their taste perception. The portion sizes were decent, making it suitable for having one or two dishes for a solo dinner. If paying by credit card, there are no printed receipts, but you can request a receipt.

I felt like eating delicious Italian food, so I decided to visit the highly-rated Okumura. Despite it being a busy period, I was lucky to have made a reservation two days prior. I opted for the 7,000 yen course. The antipasto served in the first half, such as the bruschetta with horse mackerel and the cold sautéed paprika with mackerel tartare sauce, was incredibly delicious. The creativity that I would never come across if I were to order myself from the menu was outstanding. Each dish had a slightly large portion, so by the time I reached the main meat dish, I was already full. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy with lots of small items placed around, giving a slightly cluttered detail. The counter seats are quite tight, so those who are uncomfortable in confined spaces should be a little cautious. However, for those who like it, it gives a small hidden cave-like, enveloping feeling. There is no wine list, but if you mention your preferred type and budget, the master will bring out a bottle for you.

It's great that even one person can order the course menu! I ordered the 7000 yen course and was pleasantly surprised by the generous portion and great value. It's hard to find this quality and quantity for this price in Tokyo. I think courses are cheaper than ordering individual items. If I have the chance to go to Sapporo again, I would love to visit this place. It's located underground and has a hidden gem vibe, so I probably wouldn't have found it without Tabelog. I'm glad I stumbled upon it!

Today's memo from Little Tooth, the Northern Strolling Man. I ordered an appetizer, pasta, and beer. I thought the appetizer would be a variety of dishes, but it came in four separate plates: homemade ham with mountain wasabi, squid, broccoli and fried egg, meat dumplings with asparagus. They were all delicious with rich flavors. Surprisingly, the appetizers alone filled me up quite a bit. I asked for a smaller portion of pasta, but it was still too much. Next time, I'll either order half or choose a meat dish from the a la carte menu. The atmosphere was nice, and I definitely want to visit again.

Trattoria Da Okumura
I apologize for visiting every year during the sea urchin season. My main goal is the sea urchin bruschetta. I also had sea urchin pasta, so it was a sea urchin feast, and I have no regrets once again. We had a bottle of wine as well.

Every time I go to Sapporo, I always make sure to stop by this place. Everything is exquisite, but the pasta in particular is outstanding. Even though I eat out a lot in Tokyo, I have never had pasta that is so perfectly emulsified. Starting from the recommended local appetizers of the day to the pasta, there are so many things I want to try that my stomach is never satisfied. The chef may be a bit reserved, but you can tell that he truly loves cooking and wine. The wine selected for me every time is also superb. I would go to Sapporo just to visit this place.

It's a one-person operation, so it's understandable that the food takes a long time to be served, so it's preferable for people with extra time. The restroom is a shared facility in the building, so it would be nice to have hand soap considering that bread is being handled. There seems to be a variety of wines available, and they let you choose your preference, which is very kind. The tuna tartare was fresh and delicious without any fishy smell. The dishes here tend to be on the milder side, but all were delicious because they use very fresh ingredients. The Milanese-style asparagus with scrambled eggs was tasty, with crunchy asparagus. The crab pasta had a delicious broth and the noodles were very tasty. The grilled anglerfish with karasumi had a meaty texture and was incredibly delicious. The beef Achilles with onions was soft and tasty. The chicken buttery was also soft and very delicious. I also wanted to try the risotto and cheese pasta because the pasta here is so delicious. Plus, everything looked beautiful and that really added to the experience!

I went to a bistro where I have been enjoying the chef's cooking for the fourth time. The octopus and potato salad, oven-baked Spanish mackerel and clams, Tuscan-style minestrone, Calitiella (spicy tomato sauce pasta), and grilled beef heart were all delicious, but the pasta and minestrone were exceptionally good. It seems like my timing was off the last time I visited, as this time was a completely different and enjoyable experience. The Morretti barrel lab provided two bottles of wine, one white and one red, which were incredibly delicious. I have tried this producer's wine at other restaurants as well, and I highly recommend it.

Chef's omakase course for 7,000 yen. The taste of authentic Italy? It was delicious! But maybe a bit too heavy? Feeling a bit of indigestion? The restaurant is non-smoking, which is good, but the cooking smoke filled the place and irritated my eyes.

I visited this restaurant for the first time on a friend's recommendation. I ordered wine, and they had a great selection of natural wines. The food was delicious and they really focus on sourcing ingredients locally. I didn't try any meat dishes this time, so I'm looking forward to trying something different next time.

The porcini and chanterelle mushroom omelette for 2600 yen, the butter-fried chicken Florentine style for 1800 yen, the roasted bone-in loin of Setana free-range black pork for 3500 yen, the cheese and black pepper pasta for 1800 yen, and two types of desserts were all delicious overall. However, the cost performance may not be the best. It might be better to go for a course menu rather than à la carte. It's very much appreciated that they brought the meat and pasta divided into two portions for us. The service is good.

I love the authentic Italian flavors that you can enjoy in Sapporo. The wine selection is also great, so I always leave it up to them to choose for me. The portions are generous, so I recommend going with 3-4 people and sharing different dishes. That's my go-to plan when dining there. Thank you for the delicious meal! :)

Everything was delicious! The water buffalo mozzarella and Se-no-tana cherry tomatoes from Takemura-san, saltwater sea urchin bruschetta, whale cheek meat tartare, homemade bread, cauliflower bagna cauda topped with a fried egg, pasta with freshly picked mushrooms, beef tongue boiled, tiramisu, espresso, and Aperol came to a total of 8,300 yen.

Sapporo's little piece of Italy. Trattoria da Okumura is a place that loves Italian cuisine and continues to cook honestly. Every time I visit, I learn something new and it's one of the things I look forward to. Just thinking about asparagus with lardo makes my mouth water. It's truly a great restaurant.

The food was slightly on the larger side but delicious. They don't have a wine list, but if you tell them your preferences and price range, they will bring you a few options and explain about the wines. The prices are a bit high, but it's worth it once in a while. I would like to bring my friends there again.

The ultimate hidden gem trattoria in Sapporo. First, take a look at this shiny black squid ink. Just seeing this glossy squid ink makes you think "I'm glad I came." The charm of dishes that you finish quickly even though it's only the second dish. Looking forward to hearing Chef Okamura's stories about Italy and cooking.

The mozzarella, fish dishes, and chicken at Okumura, located in the basement of a building with a sushi cellar, were especially delicious. The 6000 yen course menu was very satisfying. It was enjoyable to hear recommendations from regular customers and try out their favorite dishes.

Hidden gem Italian restaurant in Sapporo, where a chef from Hakodate showcases local ingredients. The prosciutto and cheese were excellent, and the pasta was delicious too. Compared to Tokyo, it's quite affordable and the quality is top-notch. If you're in Sapporo and craving Italian, this is the place to go.

Thank you for viewing. I visited Trattoria Da Okumura, a hidden gem Italian restaurant known only to locals, for a second dinner after having dinner. The owner and his wife are both gentle and talking to them is heartwarming. It's great that you can order as much of your favorite food as you like. On this day, I ordered prosciutto and pasta, and they were delicious. I would love to visit again when I come to Sapporo. Thank you for the meal. The items I had on this day are as follows: Prosciutto, Salami, Lardo Colonnata, Fresh Figs - 2,600 yen; Politician's garlic, chili, tomato - 1,500 yen; "Cantucci".
