This is Furano (・∀・). I had a specific purpose for visiting, which was to try some "vegetables" ♬ I also wanted to visit the observatory! However, it seemed like the observatory didn't have a food menu? So, I decided to enter adventure mode and explore a bit (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و ♪ Adventure is not something you should do alone, right? I was later reminded of that (´・ω・`) *sigh* [Miso Ramen] for 700 yen. 700 yen? It seemed a bit pricey, maybe because it's a tourist spot? Even though it didn't look like it...|ω・)It took a bit of time for the ramen to arrive, and during that time, I looked around the restaurant in a not too suspicious way... (・ω・ = ・ω・) There were interesting things placed all over the place. The Miso Ramen had stir-fried vegetables in it... Since it had stir-fried vegetables, the soup naturally had some cloudiness to it...Σ( ˙꒳˙ )!? The noodles were a bit too soft for my liking... And the chashu didn't look appealing to me! I can handle fatty meat if it's soft or braised, but I don't like the texture of chunky fat... It's just a matter of personal preference... Sorry to those who like fatty meat... This adventure turned out to be quite a learning experience for me... I'll use it as a reference for future decisions! Haha

Furano's work ended early. It's super rare... On days like this, I want to try entering a shop I've never been to before on my way home. This time, let's go to Kami-Furano. What's good here... Let's try the ramen. Hmm. There seems to be a ramen shop called Houryu in front of the station. I didn't research about the menu or recommendations this time, I'll just enter without checking. I arrived by car. There were two cars parked. I entered around 12:45 pm. Oh? No other customers... I sat at the counter. I looked at the menu. They also have a good selection of set meals. The raised seating area looks like it could be used for yakiniku. I wonder if the meat is delicious... From the name of the shop, ramen must be their specialty. In that case, I'll go for the Miso Chashu Noodles. It's 1150 yen. Now, should I take a photo of the menu... I thought, but there was a sign saying "No photos allowed inside the store or of the food"... Too bad... I wish taking photos of the food was allowed even if photos inside the store weren't. For someone like me who loves food, photos are an important memory. But, I must follow the rules... It seems like a husband and wife run the place. A woman is in the kitchen. After ordering, they prepared the noodles, chashu, vegetables, etc., and started cooking. I looked around the store. There are counter seats, table seats, and a raised seating area. A spacious store. There are many electric fans. And it feels like the Showa era... Nostalgic. The TV is placed high in the corner of the room. A common position in Chinese restaurants in town. The TV is a flat-screen TV and quite large. Prices are displayed including tax on the menu. The ramen dishes are 850 yen. Chashu noodles are an additional 300 yen. What caught my eye is the Rosu Katsu Set Meal for 1150 yen. But if it's turned into a Katsudon, it becomes Stamina Katsudon, which sounds appealing. I'd like to try that... The name on the exterior of the shop is "Houryu Ramen", but the menu lists the shop name as "Houryu Inn". I see, they seem to have a guesthouse-style operation as well. The accommodation here is 4400 yen (per night) excluding tax. It's interesting. A lodging facility and a dining hall combined in front of the station. I like this kind of shop. The staff are quiet, but they cook diligently. At one point, they used a burner. Perhaps they were grilling the chashu? Miso Chashu Noodles were ready in about 10 minutes. The miso soup is piping hot. It's not too sweet or rich, but the miso flavor stands out, which I like. The noodles are very similar to Sapporo noodles. They are springy and cooked just right. The menma is seasoned delicately and also delicious. The chashu. Oh, it's warm. They must have heated it with a burner. And the slight char adds a flavorful touch, making it delicious. In hot weather, many shops store the chashu in the refrigerator and place it directly on the ramen, but here they are meticulous. This extra touch is appreciated. The chashu topping costs an additional 300 yen, so it's a bit pricey... but considering the effort put into warming it up, the price is justified. The atmosphere and taste of the ramen are reminiscent of Showa-era miso ramen. Personally, I enjoyed the piping hot miso ramen and the chashu. The soup remained hot until the end. The staff at the shop were reserved, but they cooked the dishes well, and I had a good time. I'm curious about the Stamina Katsudon! Maybe the Rosu Katsu Set Meal. I'll definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant during the day on a regular day. There were no other customers. I ordered soy sauce ramen with a side of small rice. It took a while for the food to be served as the place was quiet and run by just one lady. The soup was a bit lukewarm and the noodles were slightly overcooked. It wasn't exactly to my liking, but I still enjoyed the taste and finished the meal. The portion was generous with lots of bean sprouts giving a nice crunchy texture. I left feeling satisfied. I recommend trying it out!

The atmosphere inside is cozy and welcoming. It seems like the main dish at night is yakiniku. The ramen was Sapporo-style.
