One of the famous gourmet dishes in the Tokachi area, centered around Obihiro City, is the pork bowl. This time, I visited this restaurant located a little outside of Obihiro Station, even though it is known for its pork bowl, the name "Kashiwa" is impressive. It is located in Otofuke Town, but there is also a shop with the same name in Obihiro City (all in hiragana), so be careful when setting your navigation. It is very close to Otofuke Obihiro Interchange, so access by car is excellent. I visited on a Sunday, around 1 pm, which should have been towards the end of the lunch peak, but there were still about 10 groups waiting. However, since there were also takeout customers, it did not take more than 30 minutes to enter the store. If you write down your name and car number on the list, the staff will come to call you. [About the pork bowl] They use a special pork loin called "Kamikomi Buta," which has an extremely high fat content, accounting for only 3-5% of the entire pig. Also, there were many boxes of charcoal produced in Otofuke, so even the charcoal used for grilling is locally sourced. There are 5 sizes of pork bowls depending on the amount of meat, from child size to extra large size. The large size has 6 slices of meat. ● Charcoal Grilled Pork Bowl Large (meat 235g, rice 460g) 1,300 yen Normally, the "large" size comes with 460g of rice, but I asked them to reduce it to 200g as I couldn't eat that much. There were 6 slices of meat shining on top of the rice. First of all, I was amazed by the tenderness, which far exceeded my imagination. The meat is very tender despite having a moderate thickness. And the faint smoky aroma of the charcoal is irresistible. The rich flavor of the tender lean meat and the sweet fatty meat are both amazing. The combination of sweet and savory sauce with delicious rice was truly exquisite and very delicious. I have eaten a fair number of pork bowls in various areas, mainly in Obihiro, but I felt that this place stands out above the rest. Furthermore, the pricing is quite reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

I went to Obihiro. I went to a pork bowl restaurant. I arrived at 10:50 and there was only one seat left. I ordered the medium-sized charcoal-grilled pork bowl for 1000 yen. The charred aroma from the charcoal was delicious. I would like to visit again next time.

I visited the Cloud Terrace at Tomamu early in the morning, then headed to Otofuke. I soaked in a day trip onsen and decided to try the pork bowl for the first time. The aroma of charcoal, tender meat, and delicious sauce made it the best in terms of taste and cost performance. I've been to other famous restaurants, but this one stands out the most.

One of the purposes of this Hokkaido tour is to eat pork bowl at a local restaurant. I researched on Tabelog to find a delicious restaurant, and ended up at this popular place where even on a Saturday afternoon there was a line. Instead of waiting in line, you write your name and phone number on a board inside the restaurant and wait in your car. However, when it was my turn, I couldn't find the board anywhere and was unsure what to do. The female staff in black uniforms was unfriendly and cold, instructing me to write my information on the board and wait outside. After a while, I was called in. The menu was simple, just pork bowl. The thickly sliced pork was grilled with a rich sauce that seemed to be a mix of miso and soy sauce. The pork was tender, but the preparation was a bit sloppy with some parts having tough fibers and only fatty sections. The rice was good for those who like plain white rice, but if you prefer strong flavors, you need to ask for extra sauce. The grilled aroma was nice, but there was a strong bitterness. Is this what a pork bowl in Obihiro is like? Anyway, thanks for the meal.

Hokkaido Wandering Journey 119 Ultimate Pork Bowl in Otobe Town ☆ It was incredibly delicious (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠)❣ There are three reasons why it's delicious and different from other stores: ① They use marbled Kurobuta pork with a high fat content, only about 3 out of 100 pigs have this quality. The meat is thick but incredibly tender. ② They grill the pork over Otobe charcoal, so there's no need for artificial grill marks. ③ Despite the high-quality ingredients and time-consuming charcoal grilling, the price is reasonable. Yesterday they were closed due to the extreme heat, but today seems fine. There was someone waiting in their car ahead of me, but it's first come, first served. There are five sizes of pork bowls available, ranging from a kids' size with 90g of meat to an extra-large size with 270g of meat. The medium charcoal-grilled pork bowl costs ¥1000 and comes with 175g of meat, 280g of rice, miso soup, and pickles. I also ordered a set for ¥400 with two small dishes and a salad. The restaurant was full as soon as it opened, and there was a long line of waiting customers. It's strange why everyone waits until opening time to come. It's less crowded if you arrive before opening! The pork bowl was served, and it looked amazing with the fragrant grilled meat spilling out of the bowl. The meat was thick and tender, releasing juicy flavors when bitten. The marbled fat was sweet, and the charcoal-grilled aroma was delightful. The sauce was excellent, and I couldn't stop eating. The salad and small dishes were much appreciated, as eating on a trip can be unhealthy. Though the onsen egg looked tempting to add to the pork bowl, I decided to enjoy the charcoal-grilled flavor as it is. The meal was like a drama, a series of emotional moments, a divine experience. I was so impressed by the deliciousness that I felt grateful to be alive. I will cherish this memory of a fantastic meal and continue my journey with a satisfied heart.

As a fan of pork bowls, I visited Kashima, the highest-rated pork bowl restaurant in Obihiro, Tokachi for the first time. The restaurant wasn't very spacious, and there were customers waiting ahead of me, but it was okay to write down my name and wait in the car in the parking lot. The menu offers four sizes of pork bowls: small, medium, large, and extra-large. I ordered the large size. The meat was thick, perfectly grilled, tender, and delicious. Without a doubt, this pork bowl ranks among the top ones I've ever had. I definitely want to come back for more.

I am someone who generally thinks waiting for food is foolish. I came here because my first choice was too crowded. It was pouring rain that day, so I thought it might be empty, but it was actually packed. I assumed that all restaurants are busy on weekends, so I decided to wait since I had time. I waited for about 30 minutes, but even considering that time, the pork bowl was worth it. I ordered the large size, so the rice portion was 460g, which is a lot haha. The meat was so tender, it made me wonder how it could be that soft. This is probably one of the reasons why it's highly rated. The miso soup was a bit light and had a lot of seaweed, which paired well with the pork bowl. Personally, I think the tempura flakes are about the same as the chicken. If you come to Obihiro for sightseeing, I recommend this place. Thank you for the meal.

A few years ago, during a business trip, I ate Ton-Ten's pork bowl every day as a meat substitute and it was a delicious memory. However, it has become a very popular restaurant with long lines. I used to love it the most, but I had already given up. I searched and found this place. Oh, there are reviews from people like me...! This is it...! I eagerly headed there. Wow, the atmosphere is great! And it's far away! ← Okay, you write your name and car number on the waiting list sheet at the entrance, then wait in your car and the staff will come to call you. The turnover is really fast! I was about 5th in line, but waited only about 10 minutes? Inside, there were about 7 tables for 4 people each. The service is super fast, haha. Due to the daily heat and being under the weather from lack of sleep, I always try to eat lightly during this trip (so frustrating...!). Here, I also chose the smaller portion. It arrived in no time, haha. There were 4 slices of meat in a large tea bowl. First, the miso soup. Oh, it's delicious!!! The flavor is so deep! It's not instant, it's the real deal! And the meat...! Just as the reviews said, it's surprisingly tender! The slightly sweet and salty sauce, along with the crispy fat from charcoal grilling, goes perfectly together. The rice is also shiny and the sauce coats it smoothly, making me eat it all up. Oh, I wish I could have eaten more~ Next time, I'll go on the first day! And get a medium portion~! I was told by a friend who lives in Obihiro that the most delicious pork bowl in Obihiro is at Kashima in Otoko. The meat is tender and of good quality. The slightly sweet sauce matches well and is very delicious. The portion size is quite large and satisfying. I ordered a large size this time, which was suitable for younger people. This was my fifth challenge for Obihiro pork bowls, following the original Butadon Pachinko, the constantly crowded Toyoda, Butage from a tempura shop's parent company, and the recently relocated Butaichi, but I felt that this place was the most delicious. By the way, Obihiro's Butadon Kashima seems to be a different store. I will definitely visit Kashima in Otoko again.

I went to have my last meal of the year today. Work ran late, so I ended up having a late lunch. I had to wait for 30 minutes. It was quite crowded, even though it's not near the station. Finally got seated. Since I've been eating a lot lately, I opted for a regular-sized dish. It was a sufficient amount. If the miso soup had been pork miso soup, it would have been perfect! It was still delicious! But I was slightly less impressed compared to last time. The first time I tried it, the impact was too strong. This time, it wasn't as tender as before, and I could feel a slight toughness. It was still delicious enough, but when comparing to before. However, it still remains the number one pork bowl for me. I would like to visit again next year.

This is amazing! Without a doubt, the best pork bowl of my life! It's so delicious! I was truly surprised! The customers were also very satisfied and happy, saying it's the best pork bowl they've ever had. It was definitely worth taking them there. Last year, I had only tried their takeout bento, so I honestly thought it would be just okay, similar to the popular P-cho-san near the station. But eating at the restaurant was completely different. I heard that it's different from the branch near the racecourse, and it was true. The bento was nothing special, so I regretted introducing it to my son's three friends who went on a tour recently. It's incredibly delicious, with a generous portion, and only 1,300 yen for a large serving – it's so cheap! The best!! There's nothing more to say! Oh, they have a special extra-large size for 1,600 yen? I didn't know! But is the large size enough? I can finish it, but I'll just end up getting bigger myself, haha! The charcoal-grilled flavor is fragrant, the meat is thick but tender and juicy, and even the fatty parts are delicious. It's a must-try, you'll regret it if you don't. Personally, I think it's at a level where you'll regret not trying it. I don't want it to get any more crowded, but I've promised myself to have it again on the last day of my business trip to Obihiro! I'll definitely visit again.

This was my first visit. I know about 7-8 pork bowl restaurants in Obihiro, but I had never been to this one before. It turned out to be located in neighboring Otofuke town (laughs). I purposely chose a place away from the city center of Obihiro, and I'm glad I did. I ordered a medium pork bowl, and the meat was tender with a perfect sear, and the amount of rice was just right. I always thought pork bowls were delicious everywhere, but this one stood out as particularly tasty among all the pork bowls I've had before. This time, I rented a car at Obihiro Station and drove here, but it's a shame that the location is not easily accessible without a car. Travelers must definitely drive there.

Visited on a weekend around 11 o'clock and the restaurant was full with 5 groups waiting. I waited in my car and they called me when my table was ready, so it didn't feel like a long wait. I was called in about 20 minutes. There were also customers waiting for takeout. I ordered a large and medium pork bowl, and it was served in less than 10 minutes. The pork was very tender and juicy, easy to chew. The sauce was a bit sweet, which I liked. It was flavorful and went well with the rice. I also enjoyed adding some sansho pepper and shichimi togarashi for extra flavor. The rice was cooked perfectly. The miso soup with seaweed and fried tofu was delicious. The restaurant wasn't very spacious, but the turnover was fast.

The popular restaurant I visited for the first time had a lot of customers, so I was worried about the portion size, but it turned out to be large (lol). The thick slices of meat were tender and the sauce was just right, making the pork bowl taste delicious in a different way from what I had tried before. I came to take a Pokefuta photo using GW (※ day trip), but this shop looks incredibly delicious and I was really curious about it...! I visited quite early, but since it was GW and already a popular shop, there were already customers waiting. The parking lot was also full in no time. ・Pork bowl (medium) The meat looks thick but is incredibly tender and melts in your mouth (※ can't drink). The fat is sweet, and combined with the good smell of charcoal, it's ridiculously delicious (What character). The rice was a bit firm and each grain was shiny, which I like. The meat is tender, but you need some strength to chew it, so it would be easier to eat if it was cut into smaller pieces. Also, there was quite a bit of sauce on it. It looks thick, but the thickness of the sauce was just right. Even though I had to wait quite a bit, I felt like I finished eating in about 10 minutes lol. I'm happy that it comes with miso soup. Visited with a friend, a party of 2. Wrote down our names and car number on a list and waited in the parking lot. A staff member came to call us after about 15 minutes. This kind of service is much appreciated. There were 2 staff members in the dining area, and the kitchen was not visible. A TV was showing an information program, with some soft J-pop music playing quietly. This time, we ordered the "Pork Bowl (medium)" (¥1000). My friend got the small size. The dishes for 2 people arrived in about 10 minutes, with miso soup and pickles on the side. The pork slices were incredibly tender and juicy, very delicious! However, the sauce was on the lighter side. The charcoal-grilled flavor was also faint. The rice was perfectly fluffy and tasty! The miso soup had green onions and seaweed as toppings, and the broth was flavorful! Overall, it was a satisfyingly delicious meal. The ingredients were top-notch, but in terms of taste, I personally prefer the ones from the mentioned shops or "Ippin". My friend shared the same opinion. First time at the restaurant, tried the children's pork bowl for 550 yen. It came with 90g of meat, 150g of rice, miso soup, and pickles. The rice was firm, the miso soup was good, and the sauce was delicious. The pork was thick and enjoyable to eat. Overall, it was tasty. There was no sauce on the table, but they provided shichimi, pepper, and sansho instead. I was able to get in without waiting after 11 am. :)

I have visited this restaurant once when it was more popular. The meat they use is a precious kurobuta pork, which is thick but tender. The sauce is not too sweet and has a refreshing taste, making it my number one pork bowl. The meat is grilled over charcoal, giving it a fragrant aroma and removing excess fat, so it is not heavy at all and even women can enjoy it easily. When I visited after last year's Golden Week, they unexpectedly closed, so I'm really glad I could eat there this time (laughs).

A hidden gem that provides a homely atmosphere and delicious pork bowl in a very local area! Some people say that all pork bowls taste the same, but the pork bowl here has a strong charcoal aroma on the meat, which pairs well with the sweet sauce. It's so tasty that you'll find yourself eagerly digging in with one hand holding the bowl! The background music of Ketsumeishi's "Sakura" playing in the restaurant (maybe just at that time) perfectly matches the nice weather outside, creating a pleasant atmosphere that not only satisfies your taste buds but also uplifts your mood. They even gave me a sweet sugar cake after paying the bill, so I enjoyed the scenic drive back while savoring the sugar cake, allowing me to fully appreciate the natural beauty of Tokachi. It was a wonderful experience!

The grilling is done perfectly to achieve this texture, with a tantalizing charcoal aroma. The meat thickness is about 4-5 millimeters, not particularly thick. The rice is slightly firm, cooked just right for a pork bowl. However, the disappointing part was the taste of the sauce. It was salty and strong, with a sharp flavor. If you like strong flavors, it might be good, but personally, I prefer the milder, rounder flavors of places like "Hanato Kachi" or "Kanda". Overall, I found this pork bowl to be average among those in Tokachi.
