⭐LP⭐ On a Sunday afternoon, I was thinking of taking a stroll in Otaru and having some sushi, but first I decided to search for a sushi lunch place in Sapporo as I haven't been to many. I found this place which was ranked number one in the TOP5000 list and decided to give it a try! There were reviews saying you need a reservation to get in, so I called before heading out. Since I was a bit late in deciding, I mentioned that I would arrive at 1 pm and they said it was okay to make a reservation! They mentioned that lunch ends at 2 pm, so I hurriedly took a bus and then a taxi to get there. The exterior looked more like an office than a sushi restaurant. The taxi driver mentioned that they used to be located across the street but moved to this new location. I arrived about 15 minutes early and entered the restaurant, where I saw regular customers chatting at the counter. Maybe because there wasn't much time left before lunch ended? There were empty seats at both the counter and tables. The interior had a somewhat chic vibe. The background music was not traditional Japanese but something different. I sat at the end of the counter and started with some beer and sake. There were two sushi chefs, one assistant, and one lady serving at the counter. The sushi chef asked if I had any preferences or dislikes, which was great for someone like me who has certain preferences. From here on, the dishes were served quite quickly. It was like finishing a bowl of noodles and then getting the next one (laughs). The rice was quite small, so even women could easily eat them up. They were served on plates, not sushi trays. You're supposed to eat them as they are without adding soy sauce, as they are already seasoned when served. Both the salt and soy sauce were very refined. The sushi was delicious. It's hard to find a sushi restaurant in Sapporo that offers this level of quality. The freshness of the fish was outstanding, especially the tuna which was so rich and melted in the mouth. Unfortunately, I only took a picture of my favorite, the conger eel. The dishes served included flounder, medium fatty tuna, yellowtail from Yoichi, spear squid, herring roe, scallop, marinated tuna, baby octopus, king crab, tuna sinew, sea urchin, oysters from Lake Saroma, sweet shrimp from Mashike, abalone, salmon roe, conger eel, and a hand-rolled salt sea urchin. I repeated the medium fatty tuna and conger eel. The pickled ginger served as a palate cleanser was also delicious. The only downside was that they didn't serve any side dishes or soup with the alcohol. Maybe because it was towards the end of lunch service? Nevertheless, the total bill for 1 beer, 4 sake, and all the sushi was 27,000 yen. Considering the deliciousness of the meal, I don't think it was expensive at all. I would definitely want to come back again. Thank you for the meal!
