The croquette was crispy and delicious, surprising me with its tasty filling. The sweet potato mochi was smooth and well-seasoned, very delicious. And when it comes to Tokachi, you have to try the red bean soft serve ice cream. It was the best I've ever had, with a rich red bean flavor and no overly sweet taste. It was unbelievably delicious!

I ran to the west and took a break at the Tokachi Plain Service Area on the up line, where they have a mini market. The Tokachi Expressway used to only have rest stops with toilets, so there was no way to satisfy a small hunger. However, recently they have finally started offering light snacks in a food truck style. I looked at the menu and saw they had Takoyaki made with Tokachi ingredients, Cheese-filled Mochi (what's that?), Potato fries made with Matilda potatoes from Memuro, and soba noodles made with mountain wasabi, and more. I wanted to try them all, but I chose the "Tokachi Memuro Dog (hot dog)" for 700 yen, made with Memuro Kenboroo pork 100% and bread made with Memuro wheat 100%. They generously topped it with mustard and tomato ketchup. It was thick, juicy, and flavorful. It was delicious, hot, and amazing! The taste of Tokachi was truly impressive.

I stopped by the SA on the Doto Expressway around Memuro Town. There are no interesting sights on the Doto Expressway, just tunnels. Rest areas are scarce, but this SA had a shop. I bought a coffee to wake myself up. Coffee (hot) 250 yen tax included. There is a large grassy park, but only toilets are available. Maybe because it's in the vast Tokachi Plain, there is no need for anything else, but it still feels a bit lonely. The coffee was made with a normal machine. I wish I could have had a fragrant coffee in the middle of nature. It was piping hot and served as a good wake-up call! Thank you for the meal.

During a break on a bus trip between cities, I stopped by the "Tokachi Plain Service Area" and had a hot coffee for 250 yen. The coffee seemed to lack aroma, probably because it was pre-made. It's understandable since they can't grind beans on the spot. I didn't have the energy to eat soft serve ice cream, so I didn't mind. They also had udon and potato fries made from a variety of potatoes called "Matilda" that looked delicious. I'd like to try those next time. This service area used to not have any food services, so it's convenient now that they do.

The chocolate for 400 yen was rich and delicious, but the Yubari melon soft serve at the service area two stops before was disappointing.

Stopped for a break at Tokachi Heigen PA on the Doto Expressway. Had a soft serve ice cream for ¥400. It was rich and delicious. Enjoyed it very much! 😊

Stopped by on the Tokachi Road from Obihiro to Tomakomai. Enjoyed some Tokachi milk and the wonderful scenery.

The croquettes made from lily bulbs are delicious!!!
