Business trip to Sapporo~♪ After a long time in Hokkaido~ It's been about 4 years since my last visit! I remember that the first place I visited when I first landed on the northern land was "Jiro Sapporo Store"... It was quite a challenge to visit Jiro Sapporo Store in my quest to conquer all the Jiro stores that existed at the time, especially coming from my usual base in Fukuoka, Kyushu. My first Jiro experience was at Jiro Mita Honten 15 years ago, and I've been hooked on Jiro ever since (laughs). Even now, there are still some Jiro stores that I have only visited once... such as Niigata Store, Maebashi Chiyoda-cho Store, Hitachinaka Store... I want to find opportunities and aim for a second round at these stores♪ Now, on the first evening, I quickly finished my business and headed to "Jiro Sapporo Store"! The location is about a 10-minute walk from JR Sapporo Station West Exit along the railway tracks to the west. I arrived around 5:05 PM, just after the store opened at 5:00 PM. I entered in order, and the 10-seat x 5-seat L-shaped counter with 15 seats inside was full, with about 10 people waiting on the long bench in the store. At that time, most of the customers seemed to be young men in their twenties. There were notices on the store's window about the timing of buying food tickets, how to line up (not blocking the entrance), excessive talking without masks, no standing in for the representative, no smoking while waiting in line... etc. "If you violate the rules, we will ignore everything except the free topping 'garlic'," it said. "Ignore" means "skip" is quite a harsh word. They must have been really bad manners! In Kanto, there are many people who are used to Jiro, so you don't see many violators like this, but in Sapporo, where there is only one Jiro store... So, the bench inside was empty, and I bought a food ticket... but I couldn't figure out which button to press for raw egg (laughs). The food ticket machine also had a large notice saying "no photos allowed" (^^;) I think it's important to provide information about the ticket machine in advance to make the process of buying food tickets inside the store smoother... especially when there are unique topping menu items that are not available at other Jiro stores! If it had been announced on the official Twitter or something, there would have been no problem, but there wasn't anything like that... But there must have been some problem! This time, no photos... (^^ゞ ● Small Ramen 850 yen I actually wanted to buy a raw egg, but I didn't know which button to press (laughs) I was seated about 25 minutes after lining up. With 15 seats inside the store, the turnover of customers is quite fast! The kitchen was manned by the store manager who came from Jiro Sakuradai and a female assistant, working as a team of two. Their coordination was impressive to watch, and the speed at which customers were served was impressive! The table had soy sauce dressing, chili pepper, and black pepper ready at all times! Then, the female assistant asked, "Would you like garlic?" It's garlic-calling time! I clearly said, "Lots of garlic, extra lard," and the assistant laughed (laughs) It's been a while since I visited Sapporo Jiro! Here it is~ (^_^)/ A hearty, chunky look with lots of garlic and extra lard! The vegetables are piled high, with plenty of solid lard on top! Even without garlic, the vegetable mix was satisfying. And then, the pork!! The pork had just the right amount of fat and was tender... This is a top-ranking pork in the Jiro world. The noodles are thick and flat. A stable deliciousness with a strong wheat flavor, typical of Jiro. The soup is a pork broth with a strong FZ that is lightly emulsified, with a taste that is a direct descendant of the Jiro classic. In this type of soup, it's of a high quality even within Jiro! I thoroughly enjoyed and reaffirmed the taste of Sapporo Jiro by thoroughly mixing garlic with vegetables, noodles, and soup. It's enviable for Sapporo fans to be able to enjoy the high-level direct Jiro taste at the northernmost point! Photos were not allowed for everything except the ramen! There are many restrictions, but as long as you follow common sense and manners, it's okay to be yourself! There were no problems at all. I hope a direct Jiro store will come to my hometown Fukuoka soon~www
