It was the weekend of the Ban'ei Memorial Festival, which happens once a year, so we made a reservation by phone about three weeks ago and visited the restaurant with two people. The staff were very attentive, so even a single woman could relax comfortably. The appetizer was spinach with sesame dressing on fish. The unique flavor of the appetizer already raised our expectations. We heard that the portions were large, so we started by carefully ordering four skewers each. We each tried one shrimp with Americaine sauce, and then chose what we wanted to eat. The shrimp with Americaine sauce was incredibly delicious, and it made me want bread. I recently started eating shiitake mushrooms, so I tried the shiitake stuffed with meat, my favorite pork-wrapped pineapple, and salted tsukune. My friend chose dishes centered around delicious vegetables from Tokachi. The meat-wrapped burdock seemed to be cut for easy sharing, and thanks to that, I got to taste it. It was a fantastic dish with a strong earthy aroma and texture. The fresh and juicy shiitake mushrooms were large and satisfying. It seemed easily equivalent to two skewers at a regular yakitori restaurant. The tsukune was cut in half to make it easier to eat, and it was served with shiso and lemon for flavor variation. The pork-wrapped pineapple seemed to be marinated in rum or something similar before being wrapped. It had a refreshing aftertaste that was not ordinary. We also ordered shrimp and lily bulb tempura along with the skewers. The sweet and firm shrimp combined with the crunchy lily bulb was a fantastic combination. Feeling like we could eat a little more, we switched from oolong tea to a non-alcoholic soda that tasted like plum wine and added two more skewers of mochi pork, a Tsubu (a Hokkaido specialty), and pork-wrapped mini tomatoes with cheese for my friend. Despite being a restaurant in Obihiro, not facing the sea, OHANA served incredibly delicious seafood dishes. The Tsubu was asked if we wanted it with garlic, and we eagerly agreed. Previously, I had only eaten soy sauce-flavored Tsubu, so I had a Japanese image, but with the garlic, it suddenly transformed into a stylish Mediterranean image. The mochi pork was a whole mochi wrapped in pork, with a creamy inside and a crispy outside, and the sweet sauce was reminiscent of miso and was exquisite. For those with a small appetite, it could also be a good substitute for rice. We planned to finish with grilled rice balls, but they would take about 40 minutes, so we settled for grilled taro rice balls. The grilled taro was cooked perfectly, with a soft and gentle rice ball that sank under the weight of the rice. There are still many dishes we haven't tried, so we will make a reservation and visit again when we come to Obihiro. Thank you for the exciting moment.

I came to Obihiro and visited a yakitori restaurant with high ratings on Tabelog. I was able to make a reservation for 6:00 pm on the same day, which was lucky. It's located next to Rokkatei. Each skewer had a good portion size and was delicious. The ones that stood out were the liver, shrimp Americaine, and chicken tenderloin with plum and shiso. Since the portions are generous, I recommend sharing two skewers of each type among four people. We were seated on the second floor, where each table had an internal phone to call the staff. However, it seems that the internal phone is not for placing orders. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again when I come to Obihiro.

When it comes to kushiyaki in Obihiro, I made a reservation in advance and visited OHANA. It was a weekday, but the restaurant was full! Truly a popular place. We were seated in a raised seating area on the second floor. The appetizer was burdock. We ordered a variety of items from the drink menu to the food menu. What we ordered: edamame (350 yen), salmon sashimi with wasabi (480 yen), liver (260 yen), chicken tenderloin with plum and shiso (340 yen), negima (340 yen), mini pork rolls with tomato and cheese (380 yen), eggplant (260 yen), tsukune with grated daikon and ponzu sauce (340 yen), tsukune with raw egg (350 yen), grilled sweet potato chicken (980 yen), shrimp skewers with Americaine sauce (500 yen), shrimp skewers with mayonnaise (440 yen), scallop bacon (500 yen), cod roe (580 yen), chicken wing with spicy cod roe (480 yen). We couldn't help but order a lot of items! The skewers took some time to be prepared, so we started with edamame and salmon sashimi. They were light and refreshing! As we snacked, the ordered skewers started arriving on the table. Each skewer was huge! What is this! I've never seen such large skewers before. The chicken tenderloin with plum and shiso was amazing. The chicken was fluffy and the plum and shiso were a perfect match. The negima had a good amount of salt and pepper, very delicious! The mini pork rolls with tomato and cheese were a standout! The combination of the three flavors filled the mouth, so good! The eggplant had bonito flakes and a little soy sauce, a light and tasty skewer. The tsukune with grated daikon and ponzu sauce was luxurious with plenty of grated daikon. The tsukune with raw egg had a rich sauce on top, also very tasty. We also tried the shrimp skewers with Americaine sauce and mayonnaise. The Americaine sauce was interesting on a skewer. The mayonnaise was nicely grilled and delicious. The scallop bacon had thick scallops, very satisfying! You can choose to have the cod roe half-raw or fully cooked. We chose half-raw this time, and it was a luxurious treat! All the skewers were so delicious, it was a happy meal! *You can also pre-order a sashimi platter by phone. It's a secret menu not listed on the regular menu, so phone reservation is a must. We enjoyed a luxurious sashimi platter with items like yellowtail, shrimp, scallop, tuna, and salmon. Thank you for the delicious meal!

It was my first visit in about a year. - Chicken with plum and shiso - Stuffed green peppers with meat - Scallop with bacon - Broccoli with cheese - Pork-wrapped cherry tomatoes - Green onion - Chicken tail - Chicken cartilage - Celery pickles The portions were still big, so we shared and got to try various unique skewers that we couldn't eat last time. The food was delicious, but the service was extremely slow even though the counter wasn't full. I wonder if the second floor was full? They told us in the beginning that the skewers would take time, so they recommended ordering faster dishes. I ordered the celery pickles, but even after 30 minutes, it didn't come out. When I mentioned it, it arrived right away, so I think they forgot about it haha.

I visited OHANA and ordered about 5 types of dishes. I had sasami, bacon-wrapped, tsubu, shiitake, negima, etc. Everything was delicious with perfect grilling and seasoning. I was also happy that I could order Sapporo Lager (Red Star). Thank you for the meal.

I came to eat with my senior. The yakitori was delicious overall. The yakionigiri that takes an hour to come out after ordering is the best in Japan. It's really delicious.

I went on a 2-night, 3-day trip to Tokachi Obihiro! On the first night, I had made a reservation at the popular yakitori restaurant 【OHANA】. It's a well-known place with a counter seating arrangement. The service by the wife was great. The husband was the one grilling the yakitori. We started with some bottled beer and made the following orders: chicken tataki, chicken tail, negima, chicken with plum and shiso, heart, silver skin, liver, tsukune with egg, shrimp skewer with American sauce, tsu-bu, pork stuffed shiitake mushrooms. Since the restaurant was crowded, we ordered everything at once. In conclusion, everything was delicious. Especially the chicken tataki had a rare and fragrant taste from being grilled over charcoal. The liver and negima were particularly outstanding! You can tell the husband is skilled at grilling. The different skewers like the shrimp with American sauce and pork were also enjoyable. We enjoyed these dishes with 3 bottles of beer. After that, we strolled around the 20 or so food stalls in the area which were bustling with activity. The hotel we stayed at had a lounge where we could enjoy unlimited drinks like sake (3 types), wine, whiskey, and cocktails. We took advantage of this and ended up getting quite drunk. Overall, the first night was satisfying with delicious yakitori. Thank you for the meal! (^_^)

On the second day of my first trip to Tokachi Obihiro, I had soba for lunch, butadon at 3 o'clock, and ended my time in Obihiro with a meal at the renowned yakitori restaurant "串bar-OHANA". I found this restaurant on Tabelog, making sure it fit my schedule to catch the airport shuttle bus departing at 18:20 to get to the 20:10 flight from Obihiro Airport to Haneda. I quickly made a reservation and was lucky to secure a spot for the 17:00 opening time. The restaurant was conveniently located right in front of the hotel I stayed at, Hotel Paco Obihiro Chuo, next to Rokkatei Obihiro Honten, and just a 2-minute walk to the airport shuttle bus stop. As soon as the restaurant opened at 17:00, I was seated at the counter. I started with a toast with a "Sapporo Premium Beer Aroma Ale Draft" and ordered yakitori while enjoying the appetizer. I was intrigued by the "sori (limited)" at the top of the yakitori menu, which turned out to be the muscle at the base of the thigh, so I ordered that along with "skin (salt)", "wing tips", "chicken knee cartilage", and a "long potato salad (half)". The master chef skillfully grilled the yakitori in front of us, including other customers' orders. The gentleman in his 70s next to me, a regular customer from Kobe who has been visiting this restaurant for 15 years, engaged in lively conversation with the master chef, and I joined in as well. I finished my beer before the yakitori was ready, so I ordered a "Sapporo Lager Beer (medium bottle)" as it pairs well with yakitori, and enjoyed the hearty "long potato salad" while waiting for the yakitori to be cooked. The "sori (salt)" was the first to be grilled, and its unique taste was surprisingly delicious. The "skin", "wing tips", and "chicken knee cartilage" were also cooked to perfection, showcasing why this restaurant is so popular. With little time left before the bus departure, I ended the meal with a "Chita Highball". Though my time was short, it was a satisfying "last feast in Obihiro". I left the restaurant looking forward to my next visit to "Autumn in Hokkaido", a place I have yet to explore.

I finally made it to Ohana, as I had been wanting to visit for a long time! I made a reservation a month ago and was very excited to finally be here. When we arrived, the phone was constantly ringing and customers without reservations were being turned away. It truly is a popular restaurant. Now, let's start ordering! We got negima, gizzard, heart, cheese with shiso, liver, and chicken cartilage...etc. The size of each skewer is big!! The meat is juicy and satisfying to eat. The liver was especially tender and delicious, perfect with some drinks. I had a couple of beers and some sake, and I started feeling a bit tipsy due to the exhaustion from traveling. We sat at the counter seats where we could see the grill right in front of us, it was fun watching the skewers being cooked. Smoking was allowed inside the restaurant, but since the seats were close together, smokers need to be considerate of others. Overall, the meat was juicy and satisfying. The restaurant was only a 5-minute walk from our hotel, so we could walk back while still feeling a bit tipsy. I would love to visit again when I come back to Obihiro. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Visited around 9 PM on a regular day. The first floor was full, but the second floor was empty and we had it all to ourselves. The Satsuma chicken tataki was delicious! The shiitake mushroom and mozzarella skewers came in an unexpected shape. The other skewers were average. The attentive staff who took care of the air conditioning were impressive. Overall, it was a decent experience at the restaurant.

About three weeks ago, I made a reservation for a highly rated yakitori restaurant in Obihiro. Although I didn't have much experience with yakitori, the reviews were enticing. I arrived at the restaurant as soon as it opened, and it wasn't very crowded for about an hour. Given that it was my sixth meal of the day, my stomach wasn't in the best condition. I decided to order slowly. Here are some of the dishes I tried: - Satsuma chicken sashimi (980 yen): A must-try dish with a delicious charcoal aroma and perfect texture. - Chicken thigh (300 yen): Juicy and flavorful. - Chicken breast with plum and shiso (340 yen): A unique dish with excessive shiso, but the chicken breast was cooked rare and tasty. - Chicken and leek skewers (340 yen): Generous portion size and a sweet sauce. - Chicken heart (260 yen): Tender and flavorful. - Shrimp and garlic namul (800 yen): A satisfying dish with large boiled shrimp and a delicious garlic sauce. - Chicken liver (260 yen): Well-cooked with a hint of white pepper. - Chicken heart (260 yen): A chewy texture with a good amount of fat. - Chicken meatball with raw egg (350 yen): A juicy and flavorful meatball with a perfect combination of sauce and egg yolk. - Shrimp skewer Americaine (500 yen): Shrimp skewer with a tasty American-style sauce. - Pork belly (380 yen): Thick and juicy, with delicious fat. - Whelk (340 yen): A flavorful and delicious shellfish. - Pork wrapped in pineapple (350 yen): A unique combination of flavors with a juicy pineapple bomb. In total, the meal cost around 9,000 yen. The restaurant offered great value for the quality and quantity of food. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an entertaining and high-quality dining experience.

I made a reservation before visiting the restaurant for the first time! Reservation is a must!! I tried the fresh grapefruit sour beer ball for the first time! Bamboo shoot skewers, shrimp skewers Americaine, chicken gizzard, pork belly, chicken wings, and pineapple were also delicious! I also had grilled rice balls. The head chef, kitchen staff, and two waitresses were all very friendly, making it a fun dinner experience! The skewers were large and the portions were generous, making it a great value. The menu was also diverse and satisfying.

Visited the restaurant on a regular night (19:00) with a prior reservation. The restaurant is located near Rokkatei main store, with counter seats and box seats on the 1st floor, and possibly tatami seating on the 2nd floor. I sat at the counter seat and ordered "sori" (chicken tail), "seseri" (chicken neck), "yagen nankotsu" (chicken cartilage), "suna liver" (gizzard), "negima" (chicken thigh with leek), "tsukune with raw egg", "stuffed bell pepper with meat", and "edamame". I also ordered draft beer (Premium Malts) and a mega-sized highball. Each skewer was served one by one, and they were quite large and satisfying. The chef, who seemed to be the manager, handled the grilling alone and adjusted the serving pace according to the customers' progress. I would recommend this yakitori restaurant to friends.

I was moved by this yakitori restaurant where you can eat for 7500 yen per person. The comment on Tabelog said it might be the best yakitori in Japan, so I called to make a reservation. However, they were fully booked until 9 pm with no time limit on seating, so I wasn't sure when I could get in. It seems to be quite popular. I went early on the day and managed to get in on the waiting list. The top 3 yakitori dishes that impressed me were the heart, negima, and the grilled rice ball. I became a fan after trying these two dishes first.

It's a popular restaurant that has been selected as one of the top 100, so it's hard to get a reservation, but I was able to get one early at the counter. The service and taste are excellent with no complaints. The grilling is exquisite with fluffy raw meat and tsukune even though the portions are large. You can also enjoy rare cuts of meat. The prices are very reasonable.

I feel that they put a lot of care into everything they do. The salt is evenly sprinkled and the meat is cooked to perfection. The salt they use is probably not your average salt, as it really brings out the flavor of the meat. It's no wonder this place is so popular. Almost all the regulars were ordering the "pork-wrapped pineapple," which is like putting salt on watermelon to make it even sweeter. It was delicious! The owner is also very nice. I had a nice chat with him when the restaurant wasn't too busy. If I ever stay in Obihiro again, I would definitely come back for some quick and tasty skewers. The only disappointing thing was that they serve Suntory beer... ( ̄▽ ̄;)

As a starting point for traveling in Eastern Hokkaido, Obihiro is important. For lunch, there are options like pork bowl, Indian curry, or if you want something light, Takaman... but for dinner, I wasn't sure where to go. Maybe Kakezumura for Chinese food? It's delicious. I always made mistakes before. So this time, I wanted to see the scenery of the bridge at Lake Nukabira (you never know when it will collapse) and stayed in Obihiro. I checked Tabelog and found a yakitori restaurant called Ohana that was highly recommended. I went there and I have to say, it was by far the best yakitori I've ever had. They had a variety of creative skewers that were enjoyable, but the basic flavors and grilling of the chicken and liver were top-notch. Even though the appetizers and grilled dishes were a bit slow to come out, the pickles they brought out were perfect for drinking with sake. This time, I had a special seat where the master, a cool guy named Akira Kinno from The Star, grilled the yakitori right in front of me (he's an artisan, isn't he?), and I was really impressed by his meticulous work. The way the senior staff taught the new part-timer was also wonderful, although it may have been just a coincidence. The master's dedication was also evident in his training of the staff. I truly enjoyed the meal, and when I said "This was the best yakitori I've ever had," the master shook his head in denial, but it only made me look forward to what's to come. This is a restaurant I definitely want to keep going to.

I visited this renowned restaurant in Tokachi after several years. I apologize for the lack of photos as it was a formal dinner. Each skewer seemed to have had its soul poured into it. The aim was to satisfy with just one skewer, embodying the spirit of "once in a lifetime" encounter. The slow charcoal grilling process may be why some dishes take time. However, after eating, I felt a sense of satisfaction and even anticipation for the time provided. The oyster skewer left me in awe, to the point of questioning every oyster I've had before. I look forward to making a reservation and visiting again next time. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

We visited a famous restaurant in Obihiro with 6 people from the company. We were able to secure a reservation on the day of our visit, boasting that it was a place you couldn't just walk into. The special large-sized liver dish was incredibly easy to eat. And the tsukune (chicken meatballs) were also extra large, served with a generous amount of grated daikon radish. Both were delicious, but the garlic shoots were especially tasty! We also tried deep-fried natto for the first time, and it was surprisingly good. The pickled celery was also enjoyable. Overall, it was truly a top-notch restaurant.
