I stumbled upon a takeout bakery called "Mugi no Dorei" in Furano, which is produced by Horiemon. I bought a curry bread and a salt butter bread, both of which were decent but a bit oily. The bakery seemed a bit pricey overall. I enjoyed my quick meal on the train, but I think next time I'll try their cream bread.

I had just burned my mouth so it was hard to eat the crusty bread, but it was delicious. The shop was about to close, but they had a great lineup. I was interested in the shokupan too, and wanted to try various things, but since I don't go to Furano often, I'll buy it in Tōbetsu instead (lol).

This is really good! I'm not sure if there is a difference between Hokkaido wheat and wheat from other regions, but I assume Hokkaido wheat is delicious, so I also tried the Corn Bread, which was equally delicious. Zaku Zaku Curry Bread 290 yen Near Furano Marche in Furano City, I was lured by the flag of curry bread. I purchased the curry bread that won an award at the Curry Grand Prix 2022. The surface is covered with croutons and fried, giving the bread a chunky texture. The large surface area of the bread alone can be a bit oily, but once you reach the curry, it is delicious.

Zakuzaku Curry Bread 290 yen This is the standout bread at this bakery. Instead of bread crumbs, they use croutons on the surface which gives it a crunchy texture. However, it can be a bit oily because of this. If you reheat it, it becomes a bit crispy and lighter. The filling inside is a mild curry with not much spiciness, so it should appeal to most people. Not Much Butter? Chewy Salted Butter Bread 140 yen A salted butter bread. When eaten as is, it has a strong chewy texture but when reheated, it becomes crispy-chewy with a buttery taste. Both are delicious in a normal way. It might be even better if they were a bit cheaper.

A kind staff member recommended their curry bread. I wonder what Horiemon's involvement is in this? Normally, the crispy coating is one of the delicious parts of curry bread. This curry bread had small cube-shaped crispy toppings sprinkled on top. It was more crunchy than crispy, true to its name. The curry inside was delicious as usual.
