This is a restaurant where you can enjoy rare Hokkaido lamb. The top Genghis Khan restaurant I wanted to visit was "Genghis Khan Daikokuya 5th Avenue Branch" in Asahikawa, but since I only stayed in Asahikawa for one night, I unfortunately couldn't go. My husband chose this restaurant for us to try Genghis Khan in Sapporo without being swayed by ratings alone (lol). The restaurant has a stylish atmosphere, and the smoke exhaust system is well-equipped so that your clothes won't smell, which I thought was great. They also focus on rare Hokkaido lamb, including rare cuts, which is why I got excited (lol). As expected, I got excited (lol). The restaurant is located in a back alley of Susukino. The restaurant was very clean, but it didn't feel as spacious as it looked in the photos on Tabelog. The dishes we ordered were: King of Yukke (1,600 yen), Seasonal Vegetable Assortment (1,200 yen), Shibetsu Shizuo Farm Lamb Shoulder Loin (price forgotten), Hokkaido Lamb Chop (price forgotten), Hokkaido Lamb Hormone (price forgotten), Hokkaido Lamb Tongue (price forgotten), Seasonal Grilled Vegetables (1,200 yen). The drinks we ordered were: Hokkaido Wasabi Sour (800 yen), Serious Lemon Sour (800 yen), Yoichi Apple Juice (500 yen), Drift Ice Lemon Beer (800 yen), Sheep Red Eye (700 yen), Okushiri Pino-Gree (1,200 yen). The total bill was 18,252 yen. They also had Australian lamb and mutton, but we chose all Hokkaido-produced items. It's a bit pricey, but since the portions are small, you can enjoy various cuts little by little. The King of Yukke was incredibly rich and tender, with a strong umami flavor. And the Genghis Khan was on a completely different level from any I had tried before. Compared to the usual Genghis Khan, it was a much more refined taste. The fresh and high-quality Hokkaido lamb exceeded my expectations. Each cut had its own goodness, and it's hard to say which was the best, but the lamb chops were incredibly flavorful. The lamb tongue also had a satisfying chewiness. They were all destructively delicious (lol). The staff were very friendly, and although there were mostly young staff, they grilled the meat carefully, allowing us to enjoy it (^'^). We were the only ones with children, but they were very kind to them. Furthermore, they also focus on seasonal vegetables, and the local Hokkaido-grown vegetables were simply delicious. In particular, the "Sapporo Yellow" onion, which is not commonly available, was sweet and delicious when cooked. Although it's not in the photos, the bean sprouts were also delicious. There were many other dishes that caught my eye as well. However, since we were planning to eat ramen after this, we reluctantly gave up. It was nice to see a variety of original drinks as well. The Hokkaido Wasabi Sour had a unique taste with a refreshing hint of wasabi spiciness. I was looking forward to visiting this restaurant even before I arrived, but I never expected my overall rating to exceed 4.5. (as of 2018/11) The current Tabelog rating is 3.62.
