Located along the Susukino River, there is a restaurant called Yellow (soup curry yellow) on a street just off the main road. For adventurers unfamiliar with this area, having the invincible item iPhone can make reaching the destination easy, sometimes even feeling like teleportation. Using Google Maps, I navigated through a narrow gap between buildings from the parking lot and arrived right next to the restaurant. The path seemed blocked off, and there were cars parked there, indicating that not many people would normally come to the restaurant from this route. The difficulty level made it feel like a mission impossible, but I managed to reach the restaurant without moving or touching anything, although I took the normal sidewalk route back when leaving.
The most popular dish, Chicken Vegetable Curry, claimed to be the number one, was my choice. I opted for medium spiciness, normal rice, and added extra vegetables as part of the lunchtime service. The broth had a rich taste with a hint of oil film, a unique blend of pork bones, chicken bones, aromatic vegetables, and seafood stock. The 13 types of spices used are changed seasonally. The curry had a spicy kick with a good balance of flavors.
The crispy sweet potato, broccoli tempura, and okra were delicious sides that complemented the curry well. The chicken was tender and seasoned just right, making it easy to eat. The rice was also satisfying. According to the restaurant's official website, they use a high-pressure kettle to extract the soup at 136°C and 3.2 atmospheres, ensuring that the ingredients' flavors are fully extracted. This attention to detail and deliciousness made Yellow one of the soup curry restaurants I would love to visit again.
