I visited the restaurant around 12:00 in July 2023. It had been about 20 years since my last visit. When I was a child, I loved the okonomiyaki here, so my family and I came to eat. The menu included pork okonomiyaki, natto okonomiyaki, and yakisoba. The restaurant interior still had a Hanshin Tigers theme. The place wasn't exactly clean, but the food was cooked by the owner right in front of us. I'm not good at cooking, so it was a relief. I recommend leaving it up to the owner. The yakisoba was made with cabbage, squid, and pork, seasoned with soy sauce, pepper, and a mysterious liquid. The thick noodles were my favorite. The natto okonomiyaki brought back childhood memories, it was delicious. The pork okonomiyaki with crispy pork belly was also tasty. Despite it being a long time since my last visit, the restaurant was still great. I wasn't sure if it was still open, but it seems to be. The interior may not be the best, but it's a delicious okonomiyaki restaurant.

Visit date: September 22, 2019 For lunch on this day, I visited Minoriya with a friend. I had visited this place once when I was in my teens and there was a rather intimidating person there, so it was a memorable place for me. I had been avoiding it for a while, but I heard rumors that it's not so bad now, so I decided to check it out with a mix of curiosity and fear. I arrived at around 12:20 PM. There were no customers before or after us. We were greeted by a friendly man. I couldn't quite remember his face, but judging by his age, it seemed like there was a change in staff. Perhaps he was the son of the previous owner? We ordered: - Modanyaki (1000 yen) - Mix-yaki (850 yen) - Yakisoba (650 yen) - Cola (300 yen) - Oolong tea (300 yen) The man at the restaurant cooked everything for us. The Modanyaki and Mix-yaki both had pork, squid, and either tempura bits. The outside was crispy while the inside was fluffy. The Modanyaki had noodles inside, making it moist. The slight burnt flavor was actually quite nice. The yakisoba had medium-thick noodles with a mix of crispy and chewy textures. The seasoning with soy sauce and sauce was delicious. I thought I might get tired of the same sauce for everything, but the portion size was just right, not too much or too little, so I finished it all without getting bored. The flavors were already good, so the improved customer service was a pleasant surprise. The only thing that bothered me was the smoking. The restaurant is not non-smoking, and the staff smokes, so it might be a concern for some people. I'm curious about their a la carte dishes as well. I'd like to come back for the evening menu sometime. Overall, it was a great experience. On our way out, we had a lively discussion about professional baseball with the staff. It was just a normal restaurant, but it was a fun time.

Last Saturday, I went to Minoriya in Oorakuke. The sign is easy to spot, but the lack of parking is a drawback. It seems to be connected to a house, as there was a private residence attached. At that time, I parked in the vacant lot between the house and the private residence. When I asked the owner, he said, "That's fine~", but I wonder what will happen when it gets crowded? Everyone else parked in different places... There are counter seats, table seats, and raised seating areas. It has a lot of history. I went during lunchtime, which is from 11am to 1pm, a relatively short period. Is it more focused on dinner? It has more of an izakaya atmosphere rather than being mainly focused on okonomiyaki. The menu is a bit on the expensive side. There are many varieties of okonomiyaki, but the side dishes are quite substantial. I really wanted to try the sea urchin sashimi, but I knew I would definitely want to drink sake!! So I gave up. At that point, I thought, "Next time, let's come at night!" They warm up the griddle, and the owner (who is around his 40s?) cooks it for you. The one in the front has shrimp in it, and the shrimp looks big and delicious~♪ I was so hungry that I also ordered fried potatoes separately, and they were so delicious. Even considering the hunger, they were delicious (*´∀`). They were salty, and I thought, "I would be happy if I had beer with this." They were crispy and the children were delighted~♪ There are some reviews saying that the customer service attitude is not very good, but that was not the case at all. Maybe it was because I had my child with me? He spoke to the child in a friendly manner and chatted with me normally. Personally, I had no problem with the customer service. He also explained the ingredients to us, which was a pleasant surprise. I wonder if the atmosphere would be different at night...? When I went, the owner was very friendly and entertaining. The owner said, "The young lady is cute~. Is the old man cute too~?" I replied, "Was the old man cute?" The owner said, "Oh? Is the old man creepy?" I said, "I didn't go that far lol." We could exchange light banter like that... From the left, there is shrimp-filled, mixed, and modan-yaki. The modan-yaki has soba noodles in it♪ The size is small, but since it's a flour-based dish, it will surely fill you up. It's delicious, so you can easily eat two pieces v(o・ω・o)ノ゛ Then, after waiting for 10 minutes, it's ready! By the way, the owner cooked everything for us~♪ With plenty of seaweed and a shower of mayonnaise♪ It's impossible for it not to be delicious! It's piping hot!!! The cabbage is crunchy, and the batter is thick in the okonomiyaki. The sauce's sweet and savory balance is just right. I was full. Maybe it was because I was hungry, but it was really delicious. I want to go again. Next time, I want to try the sea urchin sashimi!!... So, I'm thinking of going at night. But it's far from my house to Oorakuke.

This is a popular okonomiyaki restaurant located a little off Route 38 in Kushiro. There are not many teppanyaki okonomiyaki restaurants in Kushiro, so this place is quite well-known. You cook it yourself, but I couldn't seem to get it right. The staff ended up cooking it for me, but they weren't very friendly and seemed a bit rude. The taste is authentic and quite delicious, but the customer service was disappointing.

There are very few teppan table okonomiyaki restaurants in the city, and this is one of the precious ones. Rumor has it that the service is bad, with an aura of "eat and leave quickly" once you're done. The okonomiyaki here is nothing particularly unique, just a very common taste. Personally, I prefer "Janbo" where they have a lot of vegetables, so here I only take a bite of the okonomiyaki when I go with someone else. My recommendation is the yakisoba, which is so delicious that they should promote it more! I highly recommend trying the yakisoba instead of the okonomiyaki.

"What's with that disappointed feeling...?" That was the original title, but I can't write something negative, so I changed it to "Minoriya Okonomiyaki Shop in Kushiro." I went alone and managed to conquer all the soba shops in Kushiro. They also offer takeout at Minoriya, even though it's listed as an okonomiyaki shop. I called ahead to be safe and a man answered. "Can I get a takeout of yakisoba?" "Yes, you can." The energy level was a 10 up to this point. "I'll have one, please." "Just one?" Suddenly, the energy dropped to a 5. "The shop is closed, but feel free to come in." It dropped to a 4. "Really? Okay, how long will it take?" "About 10 minutes." It dropped to a 2 at this point. This person couldn't be more obvious. I didn't want to go anymore. When I arrived, I understood why. The shop was closed until a certain date due to the new coronavirus. Despite being closed, they still made it for me. Such a kind person. "I'm sorry for being closed," they said three times. Each time, it was a different response. I really felt bad for inconveniencing them. The yakisoba was made for one person, and I paid in cash like an old man. But regardless, they did their best. It had a fragrant taste and a good broth flavor. The noodles were a bit thick for my liking, but that's just personal preference. The squid, cabbage, and pork were all good. Not amazing, but not bad either. It had a complex flavor profile with a hint of Japanese taste. It was really delicious. The location is in Otaruko, quite far from the city center. It feels like a different village. It's quite hidden from the national highway, making you wonder, "Is it really here?" Anyway, they did their best.
