Visited at 17:30 without a reservation. Table seats and counter seats in the back are reserved. There is no option for ordering individual items with all-you-can-drink, but all-you-can-drink parties are available. They offer a variety of Japanese sake. Started with a Highball toast. - Appetizers: simmered chickpeas, octopus with plum, smoked herring - Handmade tsukune skewers: firm texture, high salt content - Large pork skewers: sweet and delicious fatty meat, high salt content - Deep-fried natto in a pouch: with pickled ginger, a great accent and delicious, a must-try dish Communicated preferences to the owner and enjoyed Japanese sake: 1. Tochigi - Nanamizu Junmai Karakuchi 2. Shizuoka - Shitasen Karakuchi Junmai Ginjo 3. Yamagata - Bakuren Chokarakuchi Daiginjo All were easy to drink. They usually have around 12 types of sake available. In the first half, the owner was working alone so the service was a bit slow, but it improved when the hostess appeared. This is a great place for sake lovers to enjoy a variety of options.

I felt like I hadn't had enough to drink, so I decided to go to another place. The impression from the outside wasn't that big, so I thought I might not be able to get in without a reservation. But the cold made me walk around and I pushed open the door. Inside, there were two tables and a counter with about 6-7 seats. Luckily, I was able to sit in the corner of the counter just as the previous customer was leaving. There were two staff members, the owner and a cute young woman. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, which helped ease my nerves as a first-time visitor. I asked for a draft beer to start. There were three types of appetizers served without much explanation, but they were all delicious and the perfect size for someone drinking alone who wants to try a bit of everything. I ordered the "tachipon" skewers. I was interested in the sake, but I couldn't see the menu clearly from my seat, so I ordered shochu from the menu in front of me. I had the "yamase" on the rocks. The rich flavor of the seasonal skewers was a delight to my taste buds. The seaweed served with it was also refreshing and tasty. I loved looking at the menu, filled with items I enjoy. In between deciding if I should order something else, I realized I was already full from the second place I visited. I now know this is an easy-to-enter restaurant and it's close by, so I'll come back next time on an empty stomach after visiting another place first. Thank you for the meal.

Arrived at 10:00 pm on Friday (just before Golden Week) with a reservation for 2 people. Only 2 counter seats available. Second visit in 6 months, this time with a friend from Tokyo. The staff included the owner and one female employee. We mostly drank Asahi Super Dry again. The appetizers were seasoned mushrooms and mountain vegetables, tomato and mozzarella cheese, and green onions on fried tofu. For dishes, we ordered: - Assorted sashimi (1600 yen) with tuna, sea urchin, sea bream, and flounder. Served with lemon and rock salt. Delicious as always! - Dried throat fish (520 yen) - Saltwater sea urchin (980 yen) - Mori soba (580 yen) - Grilled clams with garlic soy sauce (880 yen) in a light sauce with a nice garlic flavor. - Tempura of udo leaves and wild garlic (780 yen), both with a mild bitterness that was tasty. - Oyster bacon skewers (280 yen x2) with oysters wrapped in bacon, a surprisingly delicious combination. - Homemade whale bacon (980 yen) made from minke whale, which was tender and not oily at all. A unique and delicious dish. - Seafood white soup cheese risotto (680 yen) from the specials board. Can't remember much due to being a bit tipsy, but it was really tasty! Overall, we were satisfied with the delicious food. The bill came to about 7500 yen per person, similar to last time. Will definitely come back again!

We are directionally challenged, so when I go to an unfamiliar restaurant alone, I make sure to do thorough research and have Google Maps guide me along the way (lol). Even though I managed to find my way easily from exit 4, the other members were all wandering around getting lost in the opposite direction... What? Anyway, once we were all together, we started! The "Mozu Junmai Ginjo" from "Kamikimoto Mozu" has a smooth mouthfeel. My favorite this time is the "Junmai Ginjo" from "Yuki no Chaya Misake no Sekkei" - it's rich in sweetness and umami, so delicious!! I love the fruity sweetness of the "Wind Forest ALPHA TYPE5" ♡ The mackerel to finish was of course delicious, but the best dish today was the "Ikagoro Nishikyo-zuke" for 500 yen - it's super rich and goes so well with drinks (›◡ु‹). You can keep drinking it endlessly! And one more dish, the "Komochi Konbu Kushikatsu" for 450 yen per skewer, is absolutely delicious ♡ It has a light saltiness and a chewy texture with a crispy coating. It's irresistible (๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵) Seriously, the food and drinks are amazing here ♬ Ahh... When I come across a place like this, I really feel like going back to Sapporo and never leaving. 😭

Visited on Saturday at 7pm with a reservation for 2 people. One group of customers was already there, and the place was almost full. Definitely a good idea to make a reservation. It's located right near exit 4 of Kikusui subway station. It's a small, narrow restaurant with 2 tables and a counter with 6 seats. The bald-headed but friendly owner runs the place by himself. There is no all-you-can-drink option, so I ordered a draft beer (480 yen) continuously. They have Kirin Ichiban Shibori, Sapporo Classic, and Asahi Super Dry in bottles. My companion switched to sake from the second drink, and they have a variety of options. The appetizers were crab miso tofu, octopus head, and dried radish. The tofu was delicious! The octopus came with plum. For dishes we ordered: - Assorted sashimi (1600 yen) with 5 types: sardine, mackerel, flounder, thread-sail filefish, and mountain stream salmon. It was for two people, with about 4 pieces each. All of them were delicious! The mountain stream salmon was light with little fat. The mackerel had a subtle vinegar taste. - Sea urchin from the sea (980 yen) I saw the customer next to me order this, and it was a lot for the price! The sea urchin was firm and very sweet! It was amazing. - Grilled beef tongue marinated in miso (350 yen) x2 The tender beef tongue with rich miso marinade was a great combination. - Grilled small blackthroat seaperch (520 yen) One of the reasons I came here. Blackthroat seaperch is not easy to find in Hokkaido. It wasn't as impressive as when I had it in Niigata, but it was still delicious! It was milder than Atka mackerel and very tasty! - Grilled squid liver (500 yen) It wasn't on the menu, but when I asked the owner for something snack-like, he brought this out. It was smooth and delicious! - Soba noodles in broth (580 yen) x2 This was the perfect way to finish. Thin sesame soba noodles with a great flavor and texture. The broth was light but flavorful with bonito broth. My companion liked it so much they ordered a second serving. The broth was stronger the second time. The total bill was over 8000 yen per person. We ordered quite a bit, and my companion was drinking a lot of sake, so it wasn't too bad. It's not a cheap place, but the food is definitely worth it. The owner is modest and skilled. You can also make reservations for pufferfish and softshell turtle dishes. Smoking is allowed in the small restaurant, so it might bother some people. I'll come back alone after work on a Friday next time!

Being taken to a local spot by a local is always a great experience, especially when it's a place not typically visited by tourists. The thick rolled omelette, grilled beef tongue with Kyoto-style miso, and assorted sashimi were all fantastic choices. The convenience of being located near the train station also made it easy to access.

Kikusui. Surprisingly good restaurant with a refined atmosphere. The owner trained at a Japanese restaurant in Sapporo, so the dishes have an elegant touch with a casual izakaya style. The adult's potato salad is mixed with sake lees, giving it a unique flavor. Goes well with sake. The squid marinated in miso paste is delicious! Perfect with sake. One plate per person. The oyster bacon is crispy and the oysters are juicy. Perfectly cooked. The deep-fried grated yam is as expected, simply delicious! Sashimi platter with tuna, octopus, salmon, sardines, and smelt. The octopus is impressive. Carefully prepared and even the tentacles have plum paste. A clever presentation. Skewered kelp with eggs is fun to eat! Light despite its appearance. The food is great, but they also have a variety of interesting Japanese sake. I don't usually drink sake, but here I start with a beer and then switch to sake. Fukushi from Kushiro, made with a sake rice called Hokkai Shizuku. The label says "experimental." It was made as a trial and it's uncertain if they will continue making it. They also have other recommended sake like Saga and Saké, which are served in first class on ANA and JAL flights. The owner explains each sake's taste properly. Don't underestimate Kikusui.

December 2015. There was a dinner party in Susukino. I tried to catch a taxi to go there, but due to the continuous snow since morning, I couldn't see any taxis on the street. I didn't want to be late, so I ended up driving my own car to send them off. In the end, I returned home. Back to the starting point. At 19:15, I visited a nearby restaurant for the first time. I sat at the counter and ordered a small draft beer, then looked at the menu. The fried oysters looked good, and I was also drawn to the steak. Since sashimi seemed popular, I ordered the "chef's selection sashimi platter". I started with simmered whelk, and ordered wine with cream cheese marinated in soy sauce. I chose a red wine from South Africa. The sashimi platter was voluminous as shown in the picture. The amberjack sashimi with hot water sauce paired well with the wine. The flounder and scallops were enjoyed with salt and lemon. The Aomori mountain stream salmon, which I tried for the first time, was firm and flavorful. The mackerel, which is my favorite, was prepared in a high-end style and was delicious! The small blackboard menu that the owner placed in front of me caught my eye, "Mini sea urchin butter rice bowl". I wonder if they use this delicious saltwater sea urchin? "What's the recommended grilled dish?" "The meatballs are popular." "Okay, I'll have that, with salt." It didn't have cartilage, but it had a rich flavor. Hmm, it leaned towards meat halfway. "I'll also have the fillet." Here it comes. "Hokkaido Beef Fillet Steak." It's like a salad. A Japanese-style sauce with a hint of garlic. Grated radish is doing a good job. And now it's time to tackle the rare beef fillet with the perfect heat! I'm done for, I could keep eating. Instead of moving on to rice dishes, I had another glass of wine with cream cheese marinated in soy sauce. I was very satisfied, thank you for the meal!

All dishes were delicious and reasonably priced. I came to Sapporo on a business trip and had the opportunity to visit this restaurant. They use Hokkaido ingredients and their cooking skills are excellent. Delicious, affordable, and I ended up ordering too much because there were so many things I wanted to try. It's hard to find a similar restaurant in Susukino, but this place had a cozy, local atmosphere. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
