When it comes to sandwiches in Sapporo, Sandoria is super famous, but when I heard from an acquaintance that this place is also popular, I visited only to find it sold out and closed. Oh no! It was still before 4 pm! Oh well, nothing I can do now. I decided to come back another time. And today, I finally went at around 1:30 pm. I thought the peak hours would be over by then, but the store was still very crowded! There were a few people in line. It was impressive. I patiently waited in anticipation. There were 4 staff members and the owner working, a total of 5 people. Please note that this place is cash only.
Egg & Corned Beef Sandwich (650 yen): Eggs are essential when talking about sandwiches, right? Let's start with the standard option. Despite being busy and the owner handling most of the orders, the service was quite fast, maybe around 15 minutes. First, let's talk about the appearance of the egg. It was impressive, no complaints there. I took the first bite. The bread was soft and fine-textured! This first touch was amazing. The bread was delicious. The egg was average, but the butter spread on it added a nice touch, creating a good balance. As for the corned beef, it was okay, nothing special.
Fruit & Shrimp Cutlet Sandwich (890 yen): I really wanted to try the king crab, but sadly it was sold out. So, I opted for the shrimp cutlet instead. The combination with fruits was a bit strange, but it made sense later on. Let's start with the shrimp cutlet. Delicious! It was still warm. Not piping hot, but still warm enough to retain the freshness of being just fried. Even though they were small shrimps, there was a nice firmness to them. And the generous amount of tartar sauce was a masterpiece. Now, onto the fruits. After eating two pieces of the shrimp cutlet, I felt the need for something sweet. A dream collaboration. One bite. Delicious! The cream was real! The cream used in fruit sandwiches before always felt a bit lacking, but this one was the real deal. And it paired perfectly with the bread. I highly recommend this combination. I was so impressed by these sandwiches. I ended up ordering too much and had to take some home (except for the fried items, they allow takeout). It turned out to be a fantastic lunch. The owner and the staff were lovely, and the atmosphere was great. Next time, I'll come in the morning to try the king crab. I recommend this place for breakfast during your Sapporo trip. Thank you for the meal. I'll definitely come back.
