Sudden snow scenery in the clear weather was utilized for a drive, with the destination being a bakery. However, while seeking further gourmet options in that direction, the "Ishimame" shop caught our attention. We decided to visit the shop suddenly. As we drove on the snowy road and finally arrived at the shop, the shop owner came out with a sign indicating that they were probably closing for the day. They gestured that it was unfortunate that we had come all the way. Disappointed but accepting the situation, we parked and reluctantly started looking for another shop. Just then, the shop owner came out again and said, "You're ordering for two, right? In that case, I think we can manage. Please come in." Taking advantage of their kindness, we entered the bright and clean shop with a warm atmosphere. The large windows offered a view of the mountains on a clear day. We sat at the counter by the window and ordered the winter limited edition Hanamaki Soba (hot) and Tori Gobou (steamed). The shop played stylish music and served warm tea as we waited for about 10 minutes. The Hanamaki Soba, with a nice aroma of seaweed, was served first. Then came the Tori Gobou. I had Tori Gobou, so I dipped the cold soba into the warm sauce and enjoyed it. The soba was pale with small grains of sweet skin or buckwheat husks mixed in. The Tori Gobou had a delicate texture and a firm soba aroma, with a chewy texture. The shop owner suggested adding ginger later, so I added ginger halfway through. It was my first time trying ginger with soba, and the refreshing aroma and spicy taste paired well with the Tori Gobou. Delicious. The Hanamaki Soba, being hot soba, didn't have a strong texture, but the aroma of seaweed and wasabi created an elegant and gentle flavor. It was truly delicious and satisfying. Lastly, I had soba soup. There were only tea cups available, so I was a bit worried, but I wanted to taste the soba soup as the main dish, so I asked for a tea cup. The soup was thick and cloudy with a strong soba aroma. I enjoyed it as it was and also diluted it with hot water. All the dishes were really delicious. Even though the shop was about to close, the staff were always friendly and accommodating, and it was a warm and satisfying time for both my stomach and heart. I would love to try their soba noodles next time. With that in mind, I give them a high rating. It's a shame that the shop is far away, but I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.
