A hidden gem specializing in Genghis Khan lamb barbecue located in a residential area in Chitose City, Hokkaido. They offer a single type of meat, but you can request different cuts with each order. No reservations are accepted, and they close once the meat is sold out, so lining up early is highly recommended.
Visited this renowned restaurant in a residential area of Chitose City after a previous failed attempt due to temporary closure. Arrived around 4:30 PM on a weekday after Golden Week, with only one group ahead, but a line quickly formed. Must-try dishes include Genghis Khan lamb barbecue, spare ribs, asparagus, potatoes, and garlic sprouts.
After receiving the first drink, you are served the Genghis Khan lamb and onions automatically. The meat is tender and flavorful, with a variety of cuts available. The spare ribs are meaty and delicious, while the third plate offers a unique cut similar to harami. Overall, despite the higher price for Genghis Khan, the quality and taste make it worth the cost.

Thank you for the amazing lamb today, Daisho! Everyone was happy that we brought them from Kanto. The staff treated us well and we are grateful. We will definitely come back. Delicious live lamb and top-quality seasonal ingredients... Being kind to regulars and strict with tourists is a smart business decision. But I can't help but think. The previous owner was kind, and it makes me tear up. Thank you for the feast.

Visited after 2 years. Was looking forward to it, but ended up disappointed. Was the price this high before? My daughter and I spent 11,200 yen without any drinks. The taste also seemed to have declined. The meat was average and expensive, vegetables were expensive too. The rice dishes were also expensive. Everything was expensive. Went back to the hotel feeling down with clothes smelling like smoke. Maybe I won't go back for a while.

The next day, in order to build up stamina for the Chitose JAL Marathon and aim for at least a sub-4 time, I searched for a restaurant near my hotel using the Tabelog app. I came across a place called "Sapporo Jingisukan Chitose" in Chitose. I was surprised to see a restaurant with "Sapporo Jingisukan" in its name. I decided to check it out, and when I arrived, I saw smoke billowing out and customers waiting outside, a good sign that the food must be delicious. After waiting for about 20 minutes, I was seated at the counter. The Jingisukan was served to us individually, and I was amazed by the large, tender pieces of lamb meat. The taste was unlike anything I had experienced before. I couldn't believe how delicious lamb could be. I wanted to have a beer with it, but I didn't want to strain my liver before the full marathon the next day, so I enjoyed it with oolong tea instead. I had seconds of the meat, but I learned that it sells out quickly, so it's best to order early. I look forward to enjoying it with beer next time. I was truly impressed by the deliciousness of the lamb meat. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The restaurant is located about a 5-minute taxi ride southeast from Chitose Station, slightly away from the bustling downtown area. Reservations are not accepted, so I arrived at the restaurant at 16:55 and was able to get in even though there were about 10 people ahead of me. The restaurant has a large L-shaped counter with about 15 seats and two table seats. Each table comes with a Genghis Khan hot pot on charcoal. The chef inside the counter will cut and serve the meat. The chef is in his 40s, taking over from the previous generation. There are only two staff in the hall, and it seems they cannot serve all tables at once, so some customers had to wait even though there were empty seats. The menu consists of Genghis Khan or spare ribs for meat, and vegetables like onions, garlic sprouts, potatoes, and asparagus. The beer options are Classic or Asahi. The Genghis Khan changes in cuts each time you ask for a refill, so it's delicious and never gets boring. The restaurant is filled with the smell of Genghis Khan, so if you go to a second or third restaurant, you will definitely get some teasing about it.

After a long time, I visited the famous old man's restaurant, where the old man passed away last year and his son took over as the new owner, continuing the same delicious flavors. I was touched and grateful to see that the tradition of serving delicious food has been passed down. Thank you to the old man and thank you to the new owner. #Mako's Gourmet Blog #Top Restaurant of 2023 on Mako's Gourmet Blog #Genghis Khan #Sapporo Chitose Genghis Khan #Chitose Genghis Khan #Lamb #Gratitude #Thank you #Too delicious

It was during Golden Week, so I was worried it might be crowded when I arrived at 6 pm. There was one group ahead of us, but we were seated in about 5 minutes. The menu is simple, with 1 portion costing 1300 yen. There was also a limited quantity spare rib option for 1800 yen. If you order a drink, you get complimentary onions. The meat was amazing! There was no hint of any gaminess in the lamb, it was tender and juicy. They cook the meat directly on the plate here. I couldn't resist ordering the Hokkaido asparagus, and it was so delicious - thick and juicy. I also added the spare ribs, which were tasty even on the bone! The vegetables were all generous portions, enough for 2-3 people to enjoy. I wish they had a vegetable set for one person! It was all so delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Hokkaido trip. A great restaurant that offers fresh meat that will completely change your image of Genghis Khan. They cut the meat right in front of you, and there is no unpleasant smell at all. They also serve generous portions of spare ribs along with fresh bean sprouts, onions, garlic sprouts, garlic, potatoes, shiitake mushrooms, and enoki mushrooms. Everything is delicious, and although the location is a bit far, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant. It seems to get crowded in the summer, so winter might be a better time to go.

The high-rated restaurant that I had been curious about for a while, so I decided to visit. I stopped by on my way to the airport without a reservation, as it seems reservations are not accepted. Inside, there are 23 seats. The restaurant is a bit smoky, so clothes may end up smelling like smoke, but coats can be stored in a closet to avoid the smoke. We ordered 3 servings of "Genghis Khan" lamb, along with vegetables, mushrooms, and a few drinks. The lamb was very tender and delicious. The recommended cuts of meat were all tasty. The vegetables, like mushrooms and bean sprouts, were served in generous portions and complemented the meat well. Due to its location, this restaurant may be a good choice for those catching a flight or heading to work, as it's worth considering bringing a change of clothes. Thank you for the meal!

A unique restaurant that offers freshly butchered Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) right in front of you! The staff will decide which cuts to serve, providing a delicious meal. Although the price of 1200 yen for a small plate may seem high, the taste makes it worth it. There is no unpleasant smell, and it's difficult to guess the type of meat without being told. A great place to treat yourself, and I would love to go back again! Thank you for the meal!

I entered the restaurant at 6:15 pm the day before a holiday. There was one empty table out of the two table seats available, so I sat down there. I ordered a Sapporo Classic draft beer for 700 yen and a serving of meat for 1200 yen. The staff at the restaurant first sprinkled onions on the Genghis Khan hot pot, placed a lump of fat on top, and then let me grill it myself. The first plate served was Genghis Khan meat with no greasy taste at all, and I enjoyed it as recommended medium rare. I was impressed from the first bite by the exquisite and perfect dish that allowed me to fully savor the flavor of the meat. I enjoyed the meat up to the fourth plate while mixing in garlic sprouts, bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, and shimeji mushrooms, each for 500 yen. Gradually, more greasy meat was served, each with its own delicious flavor, but the first plate was still the best. I chose Hokkaido red wine in a decanter for 1200 yen, which had a light taste that complemented the flavor of the meat. The closing dish, nekomeshi (rice with bonito flakes and sauce) for 500 yen, was a simple bowl with rice topped with bonito flakes and sauce, which was light and satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed a blissful moment.

I visited this restaurant based on good reviews. When I arrived, the place was filled with smoke! They had a cloak to store your clothes, which was nice. As for the taste, it was...the best in Hokkaido!!! This is currently the most delicious place! The meat was tender, no gamey taste, this Genghis Khan is unbelievable!!! I will definitely go back! Thank you for the meal.

I went to line up about 20 minutes before the store opened. The store didn't have a sign, so it was hard to find! About 10 people were already lined up 15 minutes before opening. There was a line all the time after opening. I recommend coming early. The cuts of meat provided change with each order of Genghis Khan. It's delicious when you change up the flavors. It's tasty without any unpleasant smell!! The nekomamama with rice, bonito flakes, and sauce was the perfect combination. It goes well with alcohol. The prices are a bit high, but it's so delicious that I want to go again.

The Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) was incredibly delicious. I always thought that lamb meat would have a distinct smell, but it didn't at all. It was tender and not greasy. I was impressed. If you come to Chitose, I recommend trying it. The elderly waiter who cut the meat in front of us was very professional. He constantly checked the heat and it made me happy. His cutting skills were efficient and amazing. Thank you very much.

This is the best Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) I've ever had in my life. The meat comes in easy-to-eat sizes, almost like you could eat it raw! Reservations are not accepted, so you have to go early to get a seat. It costs about 2000 yen by taxi from the airport. It's been a while since I've been to New Chitose Airport. Wow, was it always this big? Were there always this many shops? The dining options here seem quite satisfying, even inside the airport. However, this particular restaurant may be hard to get into without a reservation, but I still think it's worth a visit. Inside the restaurant, there's a lot of smoke. They have a separate room where you can leave your belongings and coats to prevent them from smelling. There's also air freshener in the restroom. They offer two types of meat: Genghis Khan (1200 yen per person) and limited quantity spare ribs (1700 yen per person). I started with the Genghis Khan. Vegetables are not included, so you have to order them separately. If you order alcohol, they will bring you complimentary onions at the beginning. The owner of the restaurant cuts the meat right in front of you. The fresh red color of the meat is a clear sign of its freshness. The way it's cut is also unique - cutting off the fat and tendons boldly and discarding them. It's a luxurious touch. The meat is not thinly sliced, but cut into bite-sized chunks. This size is perfect, allowing you to feel the texture of the meat as you eat. It's fresh with no gamey taste, and it's so juicy. The spare ribs are also lamb. Since they are spare ribs, they have more fat, but it's not greasy. The flavor is even stronger. It was delicious. In a typical Genghis Khan, a lot of fat drips down to the bottom of the pot, but since this one is mainly red meat, there isn't much fat dripping. Some may argue that the essence of Genghis Khan is to let the vegetables soak up the fat, but this restaurant focuses on the flavor of the meat and the vegetables themselves. It was the best Genghis Khan I've ever had!

I revisited this place after 15 years because I couldn't forget the taste. The first time I tried Genghis Khan here, it was the most delicious I've ever had. Since then, I have visited Hokkaido many times and tried Genghis Khan at other places, but nothing beats the taste here. The meat is tender with no unpleasant smell. The spare ribs have a rich flavor. I want to come back soon! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Popular Genghis Khan restaurant. I only went there once before starting my food blog and the first bite was incredibly delicious. I wonder if it's less crowded due to COVID-19. It's been a while, so I'm visiting with a friend on a weekday.
- Genghis Khan: 1,100 yen
- Spare ribs: 1,600 yen
- Rice (small): 200 yen
- Orange juice: 300 yen
There is no parking lot, so when I asked the staff, they gave a vague answer and directed us to the counter. The main menu consists of Genghis Khan and spare ribs only. They set up a pot with onions and lard, and prepare one serving per person at the beginning. The thickness of the meat is irresistible, with no strong taste. There's a sign on the wall saying "Do not press," which seemed intimidating at first, but they were just checking the cooking progress. They seem used to being photographed. I felt like it was a bit lacking, so I added an extra serving of spare ribs. They said they provide a different cut for the spare ribs. They also provided scissors for the spare ribs. I wonder if they changed the sauce; it used to be too strong, but now it's just right. My companion highly praised the lemon sour. Thank you for the meal.

This place seems to be exceptional even among locals. Normally, it's a popular spot with long lines and no reservations, but due to the impact of the coronavirus, we were able to easily get a table. The staff changed the meat cuts each time we asked for a refill, from lamb red meat with no odor (which some people like) to tough, flavorful shank meat. It was all delicious. So good!

Hello everyone! My friend who loves eating a lot couldn't get full with the elegant sushi course, so we decided to go to our desired restaurant, Sapporo Jingisukan Chitose, for our second stop. There was no line and we were the only customers in the restaurant around 8pm, so it felt like a private dining experience for the two of us. Unfortunately, they were out of rice but still had plenty of meat available. We started off with some beer and each had a plate of beautifully red meat in front of us. The meat was tender and delicious when eaten medium rare with a bit of salt. The sauce was light and not overpowering, which paired well with the carbonated alcohol. The owner mentioned that the lamb was from a 3-month-old lamb, which explained why it was so tender and had no gamey smell. We ordered more meat and garlic sprouts, which turned out to be sweet and tasty when grilled. The spare ribs had a bit more chewiness and a slight hint of lamb flavor. Overall, the food was easy to eat and popular among tourists who are not used to Jingisukan. However, as a true Hokkaido native, I found it a bit lacking in satisfaction as it didn't have that distinct lamb flavor that I was looking for. After enjoying 4 beers, 2 highballs, 6 plates of meat, spare ribs, and garlic sprouts, the total bill came to 12,300 yen. It was a bit pricey, but overall a satisfying meal. Thank you for the meal!
