Today is the last Friday of December. In general, it's "payday" because the 25th is a Saturday, right? Not all companies follow this though. Also, is it "cake-eating day" or "Kentucky Fried Chicken day"? However, it seems like there are fewer cakes in the convenience store refrigerators compared to before. I checked the food section in Esta, and it was very crowded. What's more, the eat-in area had its tables removed and turned into a waiting area. Is this really okay? So, after work today, I'm having yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) for dinner (laughs). Yesterday, my colleague mentioned that they tried to make a reservation at the Minami 2-jo store at 3 o'clock but it was fully booked and they were turned away. The Minami 2-jo store can accommodate 150 seats, so it's the most popular, but maybe I should try the Central Main Store that opened in March this year by integrating the original store in Susukino or other stores. However, it only has 79 seats, so it might be tight. Therefore, I decided to visit the Sapporo Station front store, which has 131 seats. Also, the Sapporo Station North Exit store that I occasionally visit has 128 seats using both the first and second floors, so it's quite accommodating. Well, I arrived at the Sapporo Station front store without a reservation (laughs) around 16:33, just after opening. The female staff quickly guided me to the counter seat when I said, "I'm alone." The store is quite spacious, right? Or rather, the partitions between the counter seats are not the usual transparent acrylic boards, but a type that makes it hard to see the faces of the people next to you. Well, it's good for privacy protection. It's not like the old main store in the basement of a building in Susukino where strangers drink and have lively conversations. When the female staff brought the usual soup, grated radish, and a pack of Tomoe soy sauce, as well as chopsticks and a wet towel, I thought about what skewers to order. However, since there was no bell to call the staff, and the staff were not in front of the counter, and the visibility inside the store was poor... Just then, the female staff noticed that my cup was almost empty, "Would you like a refill for your drink?" she asked. I ordered a refill of hot sake, a tokkuri, and two each of chicken and pork skewers with salt. Then the female staff called out, "Thank you for coming!" (laughs) It's only been 10 minutes since opening, right? Moreover, the phone kept ringing incessantly inside the store... If I listened carefully, it seems they are fully booked and turning people away after 7 pm. Well, it's probably impossible today (laughs). First, the tokkuri, and then the pork skewers arrived... They bring two of each, right? (laughs) And when the chicken skewers arrived, I added an order for two chicken with garlic skewers. The last order arrived at 17:04. It was starting to get crowded. This was my first time trying chicken with garlic. I thought it would be garlic instead of green onions like the chicken skewers, but it's different, right? Probably coated with grated garlic and then grilled? But it's still a bit tough... When I told the manager of the old main store, "Skewers from other stores are sometimes tough," he replied, "It depends on the grilling skills." Also, the sake was slightly sweet, so maybe they changed the brand. If it's from Chitosetsuru, it's not this sweet... I should go to the Central Main Store early next year to check. It's been 45 minutes since entering the store, so I guess it's time to go home. Thank you for the meal.
