Dinner in Susukino. I searched for yakitori and this place came up, so I decided to try it out. It's located on the second floor of a mixed-use building a little south of Susukino Station. When I arrived around 7:30 PM, there were two tables with bright red chairs and about 5-6 counter seats. A couple was already seated at a table, so I took a seat at the counter as usual. A female staff member took my coat. I ordered a Sapporo Classic (500 yen) to start. The chef in front of me was silently cooking. The appetizers of sweetfish nanban-zuke, vinegared mackerel, and daikon came out. The sweetfish is locally sourced and fried before being marinated in a fairly sweet vinegar. It's delicious! The vinegared mackerel and daikon is less sweet, with a nice crunch from the daikon. It's tasty! I ordered nagaimo vinegar (400 yen), Shiretoko chicken skewers (250 yen each x2), ponzu chicken skewers (150 yen each x2), and a sashimi assortment. I also added a beer. I started with the nagaimo vinegar, which is a tangy ponzu flavor. From sweet to not sweet, the vinegar is tasty! I switched to sake and the chef recommended a refreshing one, so I tried the Meikyo Shimizu and Ryoga. The Meikyo Shimizu has a sharp taste. The sashimi assortment arrived with shark ray, herring, octopus, striped beakfish, tuna, and mackerel. All of them were delicious. Next, the skewers. The Shiretoko chicken skewers had juicy meat with a strong saltiness, very tasty! The ponzu chicken skewers had excellent oiliness. They were also delicious! I added chicken heart skewers and chicken skirt skewers, along with a bottle of Niinomatsubara sake. The Niinomatsubara sake was served in a wine glass. It was fruity and delicious. The heart and skirt skewers arrived, slightly salty but tasty. Overall, I was satisfied with the slightly tipsy feeling and full stomach. Thank you for the meal. April 19, 2022. Rating: 3.64

Sashimi assortment, dashi croquette, appetizer, sake, shochu, 6800 yen. A cozy izakaya run by a chef from Urakawa. The atmosphere is welcoming with a few table seats and counter seats. The friendly chef is great at conversation. The appetizer was tsukune and engawa marinated in koji. The tsukune was fluffy and delicious! The engawa went well with the sake. The sashimi assortment included sea bream, skate, skate engawa, hakkaku, mackerel, and tuna. The tuna was fatty and delicious, and the skate engawa was amazing! The fresh mackerel and fatty hakkaku were also great. The dashi croquette was made with soba broth from the chef's hometown. The crispy coating and juicy chicken were delicious! The variety of sake available was also impressive!

I arrived much earlier than my reservation, but I was treated politely. There were many local sakes to enjoy. The food was all delicious, but the tempura with corn and oysters were especially tasty ☺️

Sashimi is great, but if you only eat that, it might not be satisfying. I love yakitori and Genghis Khan too, but if you only eat that, it can be a bit heavy. I want to fill my stomach with a variety of dishes. This restaurant is perfect for those who like a mix of sashimi, Genghis Khan, and other dishes. While enjoying a beer, the Genghis Khan with homemade sauce is delicious. The charcoal-grilled Shiretoko Jidori chicken is juicy and the seasoning is perfect. The Hokkai clam grilled with butter is amazing. The recommended potato with sake lees and butter goes well with both beer and sake. The hokke sashimi and shishamo sashimi are rare finds in Tokyo. The saltwater sea urchin is a heavenly delicacy that will make you smile. The "seafood and dried fish roll" is popular, but I had to save room for late-night ramen, so I'll have to try it next time. Overall, every dish was top-notch with high-quality ingredients and skilled craftsmanship. This restaurant is a gem that encapsulates the charm of Hokkaido's cuisine. I highly recommend it for those who want to enjoy various delicious Hokkaido dishes with their drinks.

Yesterday I visited a izakaya that is known for being frequented by many celebrities and famous people. The fish dishes and grilled items were all very delicious. This time, I indulged in Sato no Mugi (barley) shochu with soda. I was looking for a good restaurant for a business dinner with my boss from Sendai, and I was recommended this place. It's not a touristy spot, but rather an izakaya where you can enjoy the flavors of Hokkaido, including seafood from the northern seas. The location on the second floor of a mixed-use building is not something you would stumble upon if you didn't know about it. The compact interior with only 18 seats was packed when our group of four arrived. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, but we started with a sashimi platter recommended by the staff, which showcased the high quality of the restaurant. Other dishes like Shiretoko chicken, satsuma-age, zangi, and icefish were all delicious and paired well with drinks. I look forward to trying their famous Genghis Khan dish next time I visit. #Susukino #Sapporo #Hokkaido #gourmet #HokkaidoLove #EnoLog

The prices are a bit high, but the balance of aging and freshness of all the fish is excellent. It's rare to find dishes like shark ray, cherry salmon, and saury sashimi in the Kanto region, and they were all very fragrant and flavorful. The wasabi provided a perfect balance of sweetness and sharpness, enhancing the taste of the sashimi. The grilled conger eel was thick, juicy, and luxurious. This seafood izakaya in Susukino is definitely satisfying.

Visited on June 6, 2023. Today I had a meal with my eating buddies at a restaurant chosen by him, "Jizake Sumiyaki Sakana-ya". As the name suggests, it seems to be a restaurant known for delicious fish and charcoal-grilled dishes. I'm looking forward to it. They also have a good selection of local sake. We started with a chef's choice sashimi platter. The freshness of the fish was evident as soon as it arrived. The sea urchin was sweet and delicious, especially when paired with the fatty tuna. It was a luxurious treat. There were many different types of sake available, which was perfect for a sake lover like me. I think I tried about five different kinds. The grilled dishes were also delicious, especially the grilled conger eel wrapped in seaweed. I have had this at sushi restaurants before, but having it at an izakaya was a pleasant surprise. Everything was so delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I checked out everyone's reviews. It seems that reservations are essential. I managed to slip in just in time, but the restaurant was fully booked. They warned me that it would take some time since they cook alone. (It didn't take as long as I thought!) They have a wide selection of Japanese sake, so I enjoyed trying different drinks with sake-appropriate snacks. The highlight of today was the grilled conger eel! I usually don't order grilled conger eel myself, but I tried a bite of what my friend ordered. It was so delicious that my cheeks dropped. It was fluffy and impressive. And of course, the oysters and sashimi were consistently good. The prices are somewhat high, but the taste is truly impeccable! Thanks to that, I got quite drunk. Thank you for the meal! 🍶

One weekend gathering at "Jizake Sumiyaki Sakana-ya"! I have visited a few times before, but it has been a while since my last visit. We arrived before our 6:00 PM reservation and there were no other customers at that time. The restaurant is small, with only counter and table seats, no private rooms. Today, we had a group of 6 friends for a drinking party and ordered a la carte. The grilled skewers were excellent! The seafood dishes were also delicious, and the fried food was great too. The selection of sake was abundant and enjoyable! Be careful not to drink too much. The conversation was lively, and although I forgot to take many pictures as usual, we had a delicious meal! Thank you for the feast - we will definitely come back again!

It's been a long time since I last visited. Came with my drinking buddies. This is a place I've been wanting to visit for a while. We made a reservation a long time ago. We had a sashimi platter, chicken skewers, rolls, and Genghis Khan. Unfortunately, they were out of sea cucumber vinegar. The chicken skewers are amazing, so we had to order them! They are so delicious. Is there anything that can rival these chicken skewers? And surprisingly, the Genghis Khan dish was unbelievably delicious! It's on par with specialty restaurants! Everything we ate here was delicious. I definitely want to come back. As we were leaving, they remembered me from my last visit and started a conversation with me. It made me really happy! I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The restaurant had good reviews, so I made a same-day reservation by phone. Inside, there were 18 seats in a charming Japanese-style izakaya. I ordered dishes such as "assorted sashimi," "Shiretoko chicken skewers," "Genghis Khan," and "seafood rolls," along with a few drinks. The best feature of this place is its wide range of Hokkaido gourmet dishes. The sashimi, yakitori, Genghis Khan, and sushi rolls were all of high quality. In particular, the Genghis Khan was cooked in an authentic pot and tasted delicious, almost like at a specialty restaurant! If you can't decide on just one Hokkaido dish to try and want to enjoy a variety of cuisine genres, I think this is a great place to visit! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Had a drink in Susukino. Wanted to drink with some seafood, so I entered this place. Started with a draft beer and then switched to sours. Ordered a sashimi platter with extra sweet shrimp. Noticed that there were octopus and squid heads, which made me feel like I was in Hokkaido. The sashimi was delicious as expected. The eel I had in Yanagawa was also amazing, it really refreshed me in the middle of summer. Sapporo draft beer on a summer night is the best. Thank you for the meal.

The fish and meat were all delicious! The simmered pork belly appetizer was so tender! The assorted sashimi platter! The herring in the top right was surprisingly good for the end of the season! The rockfish in the bottom right was firm! The shark ray in the bottom left had a protein-rich taste! The octopus in the top left was light and tasty! The saltwater sea urchin was a little uneven in color, but tasted great for the season! The tuna was fatty and delicious! The assorted grilled chicken skewers! The chicken thigh was juicy and delicious despite being large! The pork belly was tender and tasty! The chicken tail was so delicious that you couldn't stop eating! The grilled whole Atka mackerel was so fatty that you couldn't stop eating! The corn tempura had a perfect balance of sweet corn and saltiness!

Visited the counter with my lovely companion on July 23, 2022♪ We went to Sake Charcoal Dishes restaurant♪ I happened to be nearby, so I brought along my charming friend(*^^*) I wanted them to try the Shiretoko local chicken yakitori here, and also remember the delicious dishes here♪ They really enjoyed the Senhoji oysters grilled to perfection♪ Just before we left, the owner recommended the fresh red salmon sashimi(^^ゞ Indeed, red salmon sashimi is not something you get to eat often, right? We savored it, letting it melt in our mouths(*^^*) Looks like Totoro was impressed(^^ゞ I had planned to come here with a special person, but since that hasn't happened yet, I might just come alone for a luxurious drink next time(*^^*)

Visit on October 20, 2021. This is a special restaurant where you don't have to worry about the budget (*^^*) They cook seasonal ingredients in a super delicious way, so it's a special place. That's why only special people are invited by Totron. Finally, with the situation settling down and requests for shortened hours disappearing, we were able to drink without worrying about time, so I invited someone who loves Japanese sake. They were delighted to try drinks they had never had before (*^^*) We drank Kawakame Kirakuchou doburoku and enjoyed it♪ They managed to secure a portion of shishamo, which is in short supply, just for Totron (*^^*) It's nice when they do that, right? My companion was impressed by the shishamo sashimi, which they had never tried before (*^^*) It's not that incredibly delicious, but it's a dish I wanted them to try. Also, we had Pacific saury sashimi, which we couldn't eat last year (^-^)v It's not like the thin slices you get at regular izakayas. The quality is different (^-^) It's so delicious, isn't it? Tachi no Tosa soy sauce grilled fish♪ This is also starting to be in season. Oh, I almost forgot! Tempura of Senhouji oysters!!! They lightly fry large oysters that are almost 10 centimeters long. You can only easily eat this kind of dish here (*^^*) My companion was also greatly impressed, and it seems like they fell in love with the restaurant before falling for Totron ( ; ゚Д゚) Well, that can't be helped ( *´艸`)ウププ

Thanks to Koropon, this place was able to reopen for business with shortened hours. As a loyal customer, I decided to stop by. I didn't have much time, so I quickly placed my order. I got the 250 yen yakitori and the 500 yen suji koo onigiri. What's a 250 yen yakitori? Well, it's a fair price. Those who have tried it will understand. And what about the 500 yen suji koo onigiri? Again, it's a fair price. Only those who have tried it will understand! Just then, I wondered what Totoro was up to. If he's at that restaurant, I'm going there now! Because I've been there before, so I'm definitely going! Totoro probably ordered a lot to start with, planning to take the leftovers home. But everything disappeared quickly, leaving a satisfied customer. We then headed to karaoke, only to realize it wasn't allowed yet. Oh well!

The landlady wants to explore Toto-san's favorite restaurants, so she visited this place. The appetizer is yuba and golden soup. The deliciousness starts from here. First, try the sashimi of bluefin tuna! They always handle good quality ingredients. I often order this when I'm alone. Homemade pickled mackerel is also a must-try. The thick mackerel is pickled well, so it's naturally delicious. Totoron's recommendation is the local chicken skewer for 250 yen!! The price may seem high at first glance, but if it was just overpriced, I wouldn't keep coming back! It's far superior to the average three skewers of grilled chicken. That's why I keep coming back. Sometimes they may temporarily close due to unreasonable requests for non-alcoholic drinks, but it's a place worth overcoming those challenges.

"Just one word, 'delicious!' I ended up drinking alone and feeling lonely in Susukino. So, I decided to drop by this familiar restaurant right before closing time. The tuna here is incredibly delicious, you can tell it's not just regular red meat. The grilled Madai is a must-try, even for those who don't usually eat it. And the local chicken yakitori here is something you absolutely have to try, but I won't spoil the surprise of how tasty it is."

The sashimi here is not recommended this year because the Pacific saury is not good, so I tried the herring sashimi instead. It was delicious! I also tried the chicken skin skewers for the first time, and they were perfectly grilled. The highlight was the local chicken skewers, which were huge and delicious. This time, I treated myself to a solo dining experience. But I won't forget to bring some chicken skewers back to the snack bar where the cute girl is waiting. Now, I have to head there!
