This popular long-established curry shop, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in November this year. The best choice is the weekly Wednesday special menu, simmered hamburger curry. They open at 11 am. I arrived at 11:30 after missing the train, expecting there to be at least 10 people lined up, but I was lucky as there were only 3 people ahead of me. Despite the usual long lines, the turnover is fast so you don't have to wait too long to get in. [Order] ◉ Simmered Hamburger (¥1150) The speed of service is extremely fast, with the order arriving in just 2 minutes. The curry is a watery type with a bit of acidity and a spicy kick that comes later, making it a perfect match for the slightly firm rice. The hamburger is piping hot all the way through and so soft that it can easily be cut with a spoon. It is packed with a juicy texture from a blend of beef and pork. ◆ Many people order the rice with less rice (250g) as the regular serving already has a generous 350g portion. This restaurant offers a special service of free additional curry. All menu items come with ice cream for dessert. There are also videos on Instagram@moritapan7.

I arrived at around 1:30 PM and was able to be seated without waiting. It was off-peak hours, but the restaurant was generally full. I ordered the curry rice with a small portion of pork cutlet. The cutlet was crispy and the curry was smooth. I enjoyed being able to change the taste with pickled ginger and mixed vegetables. The staff were attentive and refilled my curry and water. I was impressed by their thoughtful service. I also had my curry refilled and enjoyed it until the end.

As soon as the store opened, I ordered a large plate of katsu curry at the counter and didn't have to wait long. The curry was so delicious with a light sauce that I could eat it quickly. There was plenty of rice, so I got a curry refill and enjoyed every bit of it. It was so tasty that I was completely focused on eating and finished it all. I will definitely come back for more. Thank you for the meal!

During my visit to Sapporo last autumn, which was also a work trip, I couldn't go due to misreading the flight times, and I felt regretful. I already knew about the atmosphere and dishes of the restaurant from the photos, but when I actually went there, I found that it had a Showa-era vibe with a nice hint of spice in the air. I personally like Sapporo's soup curry, and I especially love the type where you pour the sauce over white rice... I just can't get enough of it! The slightly light sauce paired with rice is a perfect match, and the large cutlet and sliced egg are just amazing! The sauce isn't too spicy, and the sweetness of the onions and vegetables makes it suitable even for those who don't like spicy food. As I was enjoying my meal, I noticed that the sauce was running low, and that's when the staff asked if I wanted more sauce. If this restaurant was nearby, I would want to come here every week! Next time, I want to try the chicken curry... Thank you for the delicious meal! I will definitely visit again!

Today is a holiday, so many places are not serving lunch. I thought about having some cold udon at Azuma in the basement of the International Building, but then I realized it's been a while since I've been to the neighboring Colombo. It's been about 10 years. The last time I went, I ordered the large serving (550g) without realizing and ended up overeating, so I haven't been back since then. It was just past 2 pm, and there were about 5 customers ahead of me. It's a small restaurant with only a counter, so it fills up quickly. Today, I tried the regular size Katsu Curry for the first time, priced at 1100 yen. Even the regular size is 350g, so I recommend adding an extra 250g of rice for 30 yen. Many people seem to order the Katsu Curry here. The pork cutlet is a bit on the lighter side, with little fat and easy to eat. The curry sauce is not very spicy, but the sweetness of the vegetables stands out and tastes delicious. However, I personally am not a fan of the very thin curry sauce. If you like soup curry, you will probably enjoy this curry a lot. They always ask, "Would you like more curry sauce?" but I usually decline as I don't use much sauce. I always look forward to the vanilla ice cream served after the meal. This restaurant is very popular on Tabelog, but it's always crowded because it's just a counter seating, which can be a bit hectic. Personally, I prefer the curry at Escher in Satsueki, as I prefer a thicker curry sauce.

I happened to come on a Friday afternoon off and was able to get in without waiting around 1 pm. I ordered the chicken curry for 1000 yen with an egg topping and chose A rice (small portion). There is also a large serving size available, so I guess that's the kind of place it is. When I tried it, the aroma of the spices was really nice. The curry looks ordinary, and the chicken is probably average. The high expectations from the amazing reviews and long lines may have set the bar too high, but it is a delicious curry. By the way, there was someone next to me eating katsu curry, and it was a pretty generous portion. Thank you for the meal!

Stamina Katsu Curry with boiled egg and large cutlet. The rice portion is 350 grams but can be increased to 550 grams. If the curry sauce is not enough, they will add more for free. They also serve ice cream after the meal, which is nice.

I visited the restaurant a little after 2 p.m. and was able to be seated without having to wait in line. This time, I ordered the daily curry special (chicken cutlet) with a small portion of rice (250g). The cutlet was freshly fried after ordering, so it was piping hot. The curry sauce was smooth and had a fruity sweetness at first, followed by a hint of saltiness and spiciness. When the sauce started to run out, the staff kindly refilled it for me, allowing me to enjoy the curry until the last bite. After finishing the curry, they promptly served me ice cream. The staff were always attentive and it was amazing. I was completely stuffed after the meal. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Just above the underground shopping area directly connected to Sapporo Subway, there is a curry house with only a counter. It was lunchtime, so there was a line outside the shop. The Katsu Mix Curry, with a generous portion of freshly fried cutlets, was a highlight. The curry sauce was on the thinner side, similar to homemade curry, but with a nice kick of spices. The owner lady even offered to add more sauce for customers. Thanks for the meal.

I arrived 15 minutes before the usual opening time. I was second in line, but more people started lining up afterwards. I didn't like the daily curry special, so I ordered the Stamina Katsu Curry Rice in a small size. The small size is 250g, while the regular size is 350g, so it's quite generous. It's nice that you can get free refills of the curry sauce. The curry sauce was a bit spicy and not too sweet, which my child found too spicy. The crispy katsu was delicious and filling. I also ordered extra pickles, which came in a large portion, about 15 pieces. Of course, we couldn't finish them all, but it was a great service. They promptly refilled our water and accommodated my child's special requests. The complimentary ice cream at the end was also very tasty.

I crave something spicy. I wanted to challenge a new place, but it was closed or too far from my current location. So, I decided to go to a nearby place. I was thinking of just having rice and curry, but then I noticed they had a fried egg as a daily special. The daily curry was 1,150 yen with an additional serving of rice. The bacon and curry went really well together, enhancing the flavor. The eggplant was a perfect size to enjoy. Surprisingly, there were two fried eggs this time. The yolks were perfectly runny and added a different taste when mixed with the curry. The curry on this day seemed a bit lighter in flavor. My "spice detector" didn't react as strongly as usual. Also, the staff that day seemed a bit grumpy. Maybe it was because I had two extra servings of curry? The second serving had curry on top of the rice, which was a first for me. It left me feeling a bit unsettled after the visit.

Near Sapporo Station, there is a highly acclaimed curry restaurant called Colombo. On Sundays after 12 o'clock, there was already a line of over 10 people. Even after that, there were usually around 6-15 people waiting. I waited for about 15 minutes before entering. It's a counter-only restaurant, so the turnover rate is fast. I ordered the Stamina Katsu Curry with vegetables, which costs 1400 yen including tax. Colombo serves a normal portion of rice which is 350g. If you want a large portion, you can get 550g of rice. It's a good choice for those who want to get full. You cannot choose the spiciness level. It's a curry with a somewhat retro taste, with hints of wheat flour and spices. It's not really spicy, more on the spicier side. This restaurant may not be suitable for those looking for a spicy curry. The taste is average. However, the customer service is top-notch. You might feel like going back occasionally.

Sapporo is said to cool down after the Obon festival, but it's still hot and today's temperature exceeded 30℃. When it's hot, I crave curry rice. So, I visited the curry house "Colombo," established in 1973, located in the Sapporo International Building right in front of Sapporo Station for the first time. I was deciding on what to order while looking at the samples displayed at the storefront when I found "Oyako Curry." It seemed to be chicken curry with sliced boiled eggs floating on top. It was relatively empty as it was a weekday evening, so I was able to enter without waiting. The yellow dishes lined up on the counter were cute. The Oyako Curry that arrived after a while was quite voluminous with a surprising amount of curry and rice. I was a bit surprised and thought I should have asked for less rice (by the way, asking for less rice is 30 yen off). I had heard it was a "sarasara" curry, so I was expecting a curry like Monsnak in Tokyo, but it wasn't as watery as Monsnak and was closer to regular curry. There was plenty of chicken in it, and I was quite full when the dessert, ice cream, arrived. It was the first time I've been to a curry restaurant that serves ice cream (I wonder if everyone eats ice cream even in the dead of winter). 2023/08/18 Oyako Curry ¥1080

Katsu curry for 1100 yen. I haven't been here since graduating from college, but finally made a visit. Arrived 10 minutes before opening time and there were already 6 customers ahead of me. When I was a student, I couldn't afford the katsu topping, so this time I treated myself to katsu curry. The extra curry sauce and ice cream service were still available, which made me happy.

Curry House Colombo is a long-established curry restaurant in Sapporo, Hokkaido, founded in 1973. Unlike the popular soup curry in Hokkaido, they specialize in traditional curry with a thick roux. The most popular dishes are the regular pork cutlet curry and the Wednesday-only simmered hamburger steak. The curry is cooked with Hokkaido onions until they become a paste, giving it a rich and nostalgic flavor. Customers can also request extra curry roux during their meal. The reviewer visited around 2 pm on a weekday and only had to wait behind 4 people before being seated promptly. They ordered the daily special curry (1,150 yen) with a smaller portion of rice. The curry of the day was eggplant mapo curry, which added extra depth and spice to the already delicious curry. The staff also offered to add more curry roux when it started running low. The reviewer appreciated the thoughtful service and overall enjoyed the experience at this beloved local restaurant in Hokkaido.

Local curry restaurant popular among those who love large portions, with a counter-only seating arrangement and a constant line of about 7 people. The customers inside are mostly big-bodied individuals, making even the regular portion seem like a lot. I asked for a small portion but couldn't finish it. The best part is that you can have unlimited refills of the curry sauce. The staff are attentive and considerate, offering refills of curry sauce and water. The specialty pork cutlet curry is delicious with a crispy coating. The curry itself is on the thinner side but has a normal, easy-to-eat flavor.

I had tried to go several times but always gave up because of the long line during weekday lunch hours. However, this time I managed to get in as there were only about 5 people waiting. I had the summer vegetable curry. The curry was light and spicier than I expected, and the portion was large. At the end, they served ice cream which was a nice way to end the meal.

Stamina Katsu Curry. I was overwhelmed by the size of the katsu, but surprisingly it was quite light. The freshly fried crispy katsu is delicious. The curry is sweet, smooth, and somehow addictive with a Worcester sauce-like aroma. It doesn't taste spicy at first, but the spiciness gradually kicks in. The staff prepared seats according to the number of people, and I felt their consideration!

Sapporo Chuo-ku / Sapporo International Building Basement Curry House Colombo Wednesday's special dish is none other than the "Stewed Hamburger" day. I couldn't make it today, but this place is the origin of my curry and rice love. Arrived before 12 pm but there was already a line. However, knowing that the operation is good, I didn't hesitate to line up. As expected, the line moved smoothly and I was called in. ◆Order ✔️Daily special 1150 Big rice +100 Total 1250 Uncomfortable chairs and narrow counter, the same old style that hasn't changed. Wait quietly in front of the yellow plate for a while. Here it comes!! "As expected, it's fast! Let's eat." A big hamburger neatly lined up with sliced boiled eggs. A separate plate of 550g rice. "This is it!" I dipped my spoon into the curry and took a bite. "Wow," the acidity and spices. This curry is rich and flavorful. It has a spicy kick that becomes addictive. Honestly, it's delicious! I couldn't stop eating, enjoying the presence of the hamburger. Thick and tender, it's irresistible! I poured all the curry onto the rice plate and planned to ask for a refill, but they asked, "Would you like more curry?" The generous portion of curry on the rice plate made me happy until the last bite. A truly satisfying day. I felt like having some chicken cutlet too. This place is where my love for rice and curry began. It's Colombo. Thank you for the meal. Thank you very much.

When passing by, I noticed that the usually crowded curry restaurant was empty, so I decided to go in after a long time. I ordered the "Big Katsu Curry with Rice" for 1,200 yen. The katsu was crispy and delicious, and quite large. The curry sauce was thin, so it soaked into the katsu well. You can ask for more curry sauce for free while eating. The thin curry sauce makes it easy to eat as much as you want. It's mildly spicy, but personally, I prefer it to be spicier, so it would be nice if you could choose the level of spiciness. There are Fukujinzuke and pickled ginger on the table. Surprisingly, pickled ginger goes well with curry! This is a matter of preference, though. I left feeling full and satisfied with the delicious meal!

【Completely Smoke-Free】Located on the basement 1st floor of Sapporo International Building, directly connected to Sapporo Station, is a curry house that has been around since the old days. This year marks its 50th anniversary of opening. Amazing!!! And the cute logo with an elephant ♡ The restaurant is located in the block of North 4 West 4, on the basement 1st floor of Sapporo International Building. =========== July 17, 2023, before 4 pm, revisited. This place and the yakisoba shop never seem to match timing well. Whenever I come here to eat, they are closed due to running out of rice, and I end up going to the yakisoba shop. Today is the opposite pattern. I planned to eat the 9-serving yakisoba at the yakisoba shop, but they were closed. Since today is a holiday, I tried my luck and came here, and luckily they were open (*´Д`) Ordered the Chicken Curry for 1000 yen, size Super, 900g (+250 yen). The service was quick, within a few minutes. The Super size comes in a different plate, but it doesn't feel imposing, rather a gentle appearance (#^.^#). Now, I will pour the curry generously and enjoy it (*‘∀‘). I have never tried the beef, but from my deduction, the curry here is made with vegetables, chicken, pork, and beef, each cooked separately in different pots, allowing the flavors to meld into the roux. So even if it were without ingredients, you can taste each flavor. By the way, the refill roux for the vegetable curry is the chicken curry. The spiciness and spice level are mild, with a good amount of black pepper in the curry. The chicken is shredded wings, so the roux has a good umami taste. And since the meat is shredded, it is easy to eat, with both skin and meat evenly distributed, making it not boring. With this method, the leftover bones can be simmered to make a good broth, which is even more economical. By the way, when I make chicken curry at home, I also use only chicken wings, so I'm used to the taste (lol). If you feel the ingredients are not enough, adding vegetable toppings seems like a good idea. Now, pour the curry generously and eat, repeating the process. It's nice that the staff will ask if you need a refill of the roux when it starts to run out. As for spiciness, for me, it's mildly spicy (・∀・), so those with a low tolerance for spiciness may find it spicy. I'm usually slow at eating, but on this day, I finished in just 12 minutes and didn't leave any (・・;) ===========
