I didn't have any plans and ended up dining alone, so I decided to explore some new restaurants without reservations. I stumbled upon a hidden gem in a building upstairs with counter seats called "Uonami" in Tanukikoji. Luckily, I was able to get a seat. They offered an omakase course for 3500 yen, which I happily agreed to. Starting with a draft beer, followed by a sake tasting set, and then the highlight - live sea urchin. The sashimi was delicious and the sake pairings were perfect. It's a great spot for sake lovers. #Izakaya #Susukino #Tanukikoji #DiningAlone #Let'sDrinkSake

I chose this restaurant again for dinner in Sapporo this time, as I couldn't forget the good impression from last time. The only disappointment was that they didn't have Sapporo Classic draft beer. We had some delicious dishes like tuna appetizer, assorted sashimi, smoked egg, shrimp miso, and ikura rice. The sake accompaniments were really tasty and went well with the food. The smoked egg I was looking forward to was delicious, and the shrimp miso was also great with the sake. The ikura rice was also perfect. Thank you for another delicious and happy time!

I managed to slip in just before the last order! I asked for just one glass of sake because I had been to a few other places and wanted to choose my alcohol carefully. While I was thinking, the complimentary dish of board wasabi & ikura arrived. Ah... this definitely calls for sake... so I asked the owner for the driest one. I couldn't catch the name, but the delicious sake arrived. I wanted to order the sake appetizer assortment, but if that wasn't available, I planned to ask for oysters and shrimp miso. Luckily, they were able to prepare the assortment for me. I was curious about the oysters and shrimp miso that I couldn't order... but I knew I wouldn't have time to order it... The assortment included fresh soybeans, pickled daikon, tarako (cod roe), aged sake lees, simmered scallops with plum, simmered octopus with sansho pepper, pickled herring roe, and pickled young ginger. The tarako was amazing...!!! The scallops were gently seasoned, and when paired with plum, it created a perfect balance. When eaten alone, the plum was very salty, but when placed on the scallop, it became incredibly delicious, which was quite mysterious. The soybeans were perfectly boiled, and the octopus and oysters were delicious as well. Everything I ate was amazing (人・∀・) I'm grateful for the kindness of the staff who allowed me to enter at the last minute! I highly recommend visiting this place when you have some time to spare. Thank you for the delicious meal!!

This is a famous restaurant in the Tanuki Koji street in Sapporo, listed in the Top 100 Restaurants of 2021 and 2022. I made a reservation for a Saturday night and the place was packed, so reservations are a must. I started with a bottle of beer and was served "Hokkai shrimp" as a complimentary appetizer, which made me happy because it was so delicious when I had it in Kushiro. The flavors were rich and tasty. I ordered "kuntama," "oyster simmered in sansho pepper," "tarako marinated in premium sake lees," and "hokke stick." I also had some sake. Everything was meticulously prepared with high-quality ingredients and tasted delicious. The oysters were firm and flavorful, and the hokke stick was juicy and delicious. Lastly, I ordered the "salmon onigiri," which was not your typical onigiri but still very tasty. Overall, the food was delicious, reasonably priced, the atmosphere was great, and it's easy to see why this place is so popular. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, with a hidden gem feel. It was almost full due to it being a Friday night. I ordered a beer and some snacks at the counter. Since it was a sake bar, it may not have been the best choice for me as I don't drink sake. The sashimi was average, not very fresh, which was a bit disappointing, but the cod was incredibly delicious. It was a taste that made me want to come back just for the cod. If you're looking to enjoy a solitary drink in Sapporo, Hokkaido, this place is worth a visit.

Today, I went on a solo trip to a Sapporo izakaya. After a Sunday tour organized by Shadai from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, I headed to Sapporo after having a drink at the airport bar. I took a quick bath at the hotel before starting my night around 8:00 pm. I started off at the counter of "Gyosai" with a draft beer, specifically Ebisu. It was a delicious beer to enjoy after the bath. The restaurant was crowded, but luckily I found a seat this time. I ordered another round of drinks, this time opting for Mutsu Hassen sake, which I really like. The restaurant was full of customers enjoying both alcohol and food. I ordered a sashimi platter and requested two types of sake, Juyondai and Hanagaki. It was a blissful time enjoying the food and drinks. As the customers changed, I decided to add a potato salad to my order. The salad arrived promptly and complemented the sake perfectly. It was time to move on to a bar as I don't enjoy lingering over drinks. Thank you for the wonderful experience, "Gyosai." Address: 5-3 Minami 3 Jonishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. Open from 5:00 pm to 11:30 pm (last order at 11:00 pm), closed on Sundays and Mondays.

The shop has a counter and a few tables. We ordered a platter of appetizers and a few sashimi dishes. The platter had about 7 different items and it was enjoyable to eat! The sashimi was also delicious. They have a wide selection of Japanese sake and the hot sake comes in a pot of hot water. It's a place that I would like to visit again.

The counter has many solo diners, so you can drink with peace of mind. The dishes include sashimi and Satsuma-age, and the drinks are a comparison of four types of Aomori sake and Aramidou. Each piece of sashimi was delicious, with rare fish that was very enjoyable. The Satsuma-age, which was said to take time, was worth the wait and was very delicious, making me want to drink shochu as well.

Sashimi platter includes flounder, octopus, herring, yellowtail, and trout. Octopus and tako are lightly boiled in tea. Grilled eel with sweet sauce is delicious and goes well with sake. Grilled Shimaaji head is soft and tasty. Classic side dishes include potato salad and lightly pickled asparagus. Sake served is Upkawa Taoyuki.

Visited "Uonai," located in a mixed-use building in the Tanuki Koji shopping street in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. The interior of the shop has about 6 counter seats and 3 tables on a raised platform. The atmosphere is calm, with several customers dining alone. (Order) ◼️Potato salad ◼️Shrimp miso ◼️Today's sashimi assortment ◼️Homemade freshly fried satsuma-age ◼️Monk garlic ohitashi ◼️Beer ◼️Sake (Hanayuki, Tanaka, Sunagawa Suisei, Hiroto River) (Appetizer) ◼️Bamboo shoot and firefly squid ohitashi The sashimi includes both aged and fresh sashimi served in a well-balanced manner. A shop offering delicious dishes made by the head chef and a wide selection of sake from across the country. I would love to stop by again when in Sapporo.

On the evening of April 19, 2023, I had made a reservation here, so I headed out to the Susukino district while it was still light out. The wide road gave a quieter impression compared to Kabukicho (although that would change later). The popular restaurant in the back of a mixed-use building was already crowded early on. The walls were covered with the names of sake brands and food menu items, which was exciting. The standout dish was vinegar-marinated king crab. The flavor of the crab meat was exquisite. It was worth coming just for that. I had my sake warmed up, a Junmai from Obihiro called "Tokachi". My son, who is a fan of Saga, found "Nabeshima" and ordered that. We also enjoyed dishes like simmered oysters with sansho pepper and asparagus in broth. The asparagus was delicious, a true taste of its origin. Other dishes included salted cherry trout and soy-marinated firefly squid. We finished with a rice ball. The time spent eating and drinking was enjoyable. At the time of leaving, Susukino was in full swing. I watched as hostesses lined up at the entrance of various establishments and thought, "This is like the modern-day Yoshiwara..." It was strangely fascinating. We bought some food and drinks from a convenience store called Sekoma (my first time there, but I heard good things about it) and returned to the hotel.

The names of the top 100 restaurants are not deceiving. I enjoyed recommended dishes such as Japanese sake made with Hokkaido's sake rice, Saitama Suisei, which complemented the omakase course. Instead of relying solely on the quality of Hokkaido's ingredients, most dishes are carefully aged or smoked with extra care. Everything I ate was delicious. The only thing that concerned me was the mention of smoking allowed in the basic information, but in reality, all seats were non-smoking, which was reassuring. There were no ashtrays and despite the restaurant being full, there wasn't a single smoker, so that was also reassuring.

The popular restaurant located on Tanukikoji Street, listed in the top 100 on Tabelog, requires early reservations, making it difficult for business travelers with sudden plans. This time, I made a reservation as soon as my private trip was decided. The restaurant has 8 seats at the counter and 3 tables, creating a cozy atmosphere. The bald chefs behind the counter give off a good vibe. The appetizer was marinated squid with miso, seaweed, cucumber, and squid, simple but delicious. The set course costs 3,500 yen per person. The potato salad with finely chopped pickled radish and roasted sesame seeds was a nice touch. The "tachi ponzu" dish featured delicious shirako, a seasonal delicacy. The sashimi platter included trout, amberjack, flounder, octopus, and squid. The assorted appetizers plate had miso cucumbers, octopus, oyster oil, pickles, young ginger, cod roe, scallops, and white asparagus, each with a unique flavor. The dried and salted gurnard was perfect with Ebisu beer or sake. I enjoyed a glass of Juyondai sake for a reasonable price. Recently, more restaurants offer courses that can be enjoyed alone, but this one stands out with its high-quality dishes from start to finish. I was impressed by the quality of each dish and definitely want to revisit this place. Thank you for the wonderful meal! ❤️

I went to the izakaya called Uonami in a building in Susukino around 9 p.m. The table seats were full, but there were a few spots available at the counter. It was quite popular. I ordered sake and a sashimi assortment. It's an izakaya where even solo diners can easily enter.

The appetizer is shirasu sea urchin, vinegar oysters, and herring cut sake paired with pure rice Tokachi Gyoshu. The garlic ohitashi is replaced with Sandogawa Comet, and the cod and herring kasuzuke are delicious. Although the old man is not very talkative or friendly, his skills are excellent. #Sapporo Tanukikoji #UoSakae #sea urchin #pure rice Tokachi #Sandogawa Comet #herring cut

Impressive, a place frequented by adults, with delicious side dishes to go with drinks. I don't write about it much, but I come here about once a year. It's hard to get a reservation here, so it feels like I come early for business purposes. We started with a highball toast and some crab miso as an appetizer, which went really well with the drinks. I recommend trying their tasting set of premium sake for those who like sake. The sashimi platter had well-aged fish that paired perfectly with the drinks. The dried and seasoned halfbeak was a great snack to go with the drinks. I usually don't like potato salad, but I enjoyed it here. With a drink in hand, chatting away, this place is perfect for a night out at an izakaya. Thank you for the delicious meal.

There are about 7 seats at the counter and 3 table seats. Handwritten menu. Ordered mostly seafood dishes. Had 3 different types of sake after beer, all of which paired well with the food. All dishes were delicious, but the miso soup with wakame and cucumber that came with the seafood dishes paired perfectly with the sake. The sea bass is recommended!

Located in a building filled with restaurants on Tanuki Koji street, this small eatery has a counter and three tables. Reservations are a must, as they have turned away customers without one. The appetizers are all delicious, especially the sashimi platter which includes a fantastic fish called "Yakko." The miso paste and shrimp miso are so good that you can drink endless amounts of sake with them. Don't forget to order the "Tachipon," it's a must-try. The quality of the shirako in Tokyo is unmatched here.

Time: Friday 7:00 PM Number of people: 2 Reservation: Made about 1 week in advance through Tabelog Bill: Approximately ¥14,000 If you were to set a main theme for each prefecture you visit, would Hokkaido's main theme be food or nature? When I think of Hokkaido, I only have a shallow knowledge of Genghis Khan and seafood cuisine. I was really looking forward to visiting here (and Asahikawa Zoo). The restaurant is located in an old building with many dining options. We were seated at the corner of an L-shaped counter and started with barley water, followed by rice and potato appetizers. The oyster ponzu appetizer may have been the most delicious thing I ate on this trip to Sapporo... (the strawberry topped with ice cream that I had at New Chitose Airport may be a close second). Restaurants that serve delicious appetizers always seem to have delicious food overall, don't they?
