Visit date: Thursday, March 17, 2022, around 4:30 pm. This is a long-established yakiniku restaurant near Toyosui Station, founded in Showa 35. Look for the red sign on top of the building, cross the Sosei River, and the entrance is on the 2nd floor of the building. Open from 4 pm, the restaurant has a spacious interior with 120 seats, suitable for various occasions from solo dining to group parties. Orders can be placed using the touch panel system on the table, eliminating the need to call out for staff and allowing real-time confirmation of the bill. We ordered the following items: Hormone ¥400, Pig's Trotters ¥550, Genghis Khan ¥600, Liver ¥750, Napa Cabbage Kimchi ¥400 x2, Draft Beer ¥550, Tomato Split ¥400, Rice ¥200, Total ¥4250. The menu is extensive, with a good selection of alcoholic beverages. You can also take out items like hormone and kimchi. The specialty hormone is grilled on a roaster and offers four varieties: hormone, salted hormone, premium hormone, and oily hormone (giara), all based on miso. Despite being only ¥400 per serving, the hormone is fresh and surprisingly voluminous, making it a great value for money. The oversized draft beer is recommended for beer lovers. Enjoying hormone and pig's trotters with bean sprout namul and chilled beer is a blissful experience. The pig's trotters are a must-try menu item, with crispy skin and tender meat that is incredibly delicious. Despite getting your hands greasy, it's worth indulging in. Finish off with Genghis Khan, rice, and kimchi. After enjoying hormone and pig's trotters with beer, we debated whether to have cold noodles, but ultimately decided on rice. They offer both Morioka cold noodles and Seoul cold noodles, which is fantastic. We also added tomato split as a chaser and napa cabbage kimchi for a palate cleanser. The Genghis Khan and liver have no unusual smell and are well-seasoned, while the napa cabbage kimchi is sweet and savory with plenty of umami and a strong garlic flavor, which I loved. I bought some as a souvenir at the time of payment. In conclusion, I was impressed by the miso-marinated hormone. There are regular customers who come with their families and eat around 10 servings of hormone. Keeping a bottle of shochu and trying all the hormone varieties is also a good idea. Payment by PayPay is not accepted. Check out their Instagram @moritapan7 for videos.

I went to this restaurant near the coin parking where I parked because the shop I wanted to go to was closed! I don't often have the opportunity to go to the edge of Susukino, so it feels fresh. I think I only went here once in my student days. It's a long-established place, so you can feel its history. I went during a quiet time and was able to enter without a reservation. I ordered using a touch panel. I ordered Sagari, loin, chicken, salted Sagari, raw lamb, Kalbi soup, Sangchu, Chorogi salad, onigiri, and rice. The meat was tender and delicious, very satisfying! The raw lamb was delicious without any odor. The salted Sagari was a little salty. The most impressive thing was the sauce. It was not too sweet and very delicious. I thought about ordering cold noodles at the end, but I was too full and couldn't make it - it was over. It had been a while since I had yakiniku, but I was very satisfied. My husband was also impressed by how delicious the yakiniku was after a long time. Thank you for the meal ^ ^

Visited for the first time with a last-minute reservation on Saturday at 5:30 PM. The restaurant was already full. Tried the standard taste of Hokkoen Karubi, which was decent. The sauce was described as more spicy than sweet, and it wasn't bad. The Black Wagyu Karubi had a good amount of marbling and a sweet richness from the fat, but maybe I prefer the Stardust Karubi. Personally, I would have liked the Kakuteki to have a bit more flavor. The umeboshi garlic I ordered as a side dish helped cut through the greasiness of the meat, so I would definitely come back for that. Despite being busy, the staff were efficient and gave a good impression. I think it's a good balance in terms of quality and cost, making it a nice place to go for a quick meal with friends or colleagues. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered hormone (400 yen) and draft beer (550 yen) when I sat down, based on the reviews saying the hormone was delicious. First, a complimentary appetizer arrived. It's rare to get an appetizer at a yakiniku restaurant! Shortly after, the draft beer and hormone were brought to the table. The hormone was plentiful for the price and had a rich flavor, so I, as the second stop of the night, was satisfied. When I went to pay, I found out that the appetizer that arrived earlier was actually free. I thought that by paying for the appetizer, I would feel less guilty leaving after ordering only a small amount, but I ended up leaving with just the draft beer (550 yen) and hormone (400 yen) totaling 950 yen. I felt a bit apologetic. I look forward to eating more next time. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a restaurant to eat hormone as my sister suggested when I returned home. The place wasn't too crowded when I arrived. I ordered the traditional hormone and slightly sweet Genghis Khan using the touch panel. I remember when I was in elementary school, the place was hard to see inside because of the smoke along Route 36. Now it's a clean and nostalgic place. When the hormone arrived, I started grilling it right away and took the first bite. It was delicious and brought back memories. Eating this hormone with the sauce from this restaurant is essential for full enjoyment. The Genghis Khan was also delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. I enjoyed it with a glass of draft beer, eating hormone, Genghis Khan, top tripe, and skirt meat until I was full. It was a satisfying meal. I felt a bit bloated on my way back, so I ordered hormone for 20 people, Genghis Khan for 10 people, 4 bottles of sauce, and 4 bottles of gochujang to be delivered to my house by courier.

Located at the eastern end of Susukino, Sapporo's Chuo Ward, is the long-established yakiniku restaurant "Hokkoen". It is a large four-story building, with the first floor being a parking lot, the second floor being the restaurant, and the third and fourth floors also being part of the establishment. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the restaurant is thriving. We visited without a reservation and found that the window-side booths on the second floor were already full. The restaurant is spacious, with a central counter seating arrangement, booth seating along the walls, and a large tatami seating area at the back. It had been about 25 years since my last visit. I noticed that there is also a "Nanko-en" in Sapporo. I wonder if there is any connection between the two establishments? I haven't seen the commercial featuring the company president saying "This is us, this is it!!" for Nanko-en recently. We enjoyed some refreshing drinks like draft beer and lemon sour, and savored various cuts of meat such as thick tongue, marbled kalbi, tender harami, succulent pork belly, fresh lamb, and flavorful salted hormone. The garlic yakitori, assorted kimchi, and cold noodles were also delicious. Overall, it was a great dining experience with our neighbors, and we look forward to returning again soon. (laughs)

The long-awaited restaurant. First, I tried the hormone and Genghis Khan. The hormone is only 350 yen! And yet, it's thick and delicious! I also tried the upper hormone, but I think the cheaper one is better. I switched from beer to shochu. Even though I ate and drank a lot, it didn't even cost 4000 yen per person. I will definitely go back.

Toyomizu Susukino. I had sushi at a dinner party, but there were few dishes and I wasn't very full. When my sister invited me to a yakiniku restaurant, I resisted the temptation and went for yakiniku! What a great decision. So, I decided to have yakiniku by myself! It's been a while since I came to Hokkoen. Highball, please! Hormone, nankotsu, sagari, pork feet! The portions here are big and delicious. First, I had pork feet with highball! I know some people can't eat pork feet, but it's beautiful and addicting. The white ankle is so cute! Haha. Nowadays, it's often served pre-cut, so it's not as gross as before. It's perfect as a snack while waiting for it to cook. And the hormone here is delicious. The hormone with the unique miso sauce at Hokkoen. Mmm, fantastic! Here, you can enjoy just the hormone and pork feet. Now, after all that fat, time for some carbs! Thank you for the meal!

All the photos show people grilling their meat in a weird way because they are too hungry, haha. Well, this place is a must-go for my family when we want to have barbecue. It's quite popular, with almost all tables except the counter being full. The miso-flavored hormone is their specialty. Personally, I wouldn't go for barbecue on my own, and I don't know many other places to compare, but I think the food here is delicious. Oh, and there was someone who ordered a super-sized beer for 900 yen. It was really big, about 1.5 times the size of a regular glass. Just holding it was a challenge. Considering a normal beer costs 450 yen, I realized it's not really a good deal. Maybe it's better to just order two regular cold beers instead. I'm not sure if beer tastes better when it's colder, but I think freshly poured beer is probably the best. On a side note, I tend to feel heavy when I have barbecue with rice, so I usually order a salad instead of rice. Here, they serve a substantial salad for 500 yen, which I appreciate. The picture shows a seaweed salad. The dressing is Chinese, I think? I've been eating vegetables without dressing lately, so I tend to forget the taste and name of dressings, haha. Also, the kakuteki and oi kimchi here are delicious! It's clear that they have a Korean influence. I noticed a few foreign customers as well. With all that said, I'll probably come back in about six months. Thank you for the meal! (As an additional side note, I can't stand reading my past reviews because they sound too cocky. It's like looking at a dark past. Just a random thought.)

Just a little walk east along Route 36 from Toyomizu Susukino, cross the Sosei River and turn onto the next street. You'll soon see a sign for a delicious yakiniku restaurant that specializes in hormone (offal). I love this yakiniku restaurant so much because it's a favorite of my parents. They've been coming here for almost 50 years! The previous location was very small, but the taste was amazing. They moved here and became famous, which makes my parents happy. They talk about it like they're friends, but I'm just a big fan. We often come here to celebrate special occasions like anniversaries. Today, we couldn't go to Otaru as planned, so we're having yakiniku for Christmas. My mother, partner, and I are having a yakiniku dinner together. After this, we're heading to karaoke, and since we have a ride, I might have a drink or two. My mother can handle her alcohol pretty well, just like my father. The restaurant is not too crowded today because it's Christmas. Usually, it's quite busy, especially towards the end of the year. We can leisurely enjoy our meal today. Once seated, we're served with appetizers, hot towels, and sauce. We get complimentary bean sprout namul, which is delicious. We start with drinks - my mother has a draft beer, my partner has cola, and I have... I forgot the name (laughs). It's a shochu lemon sour with lots of fresh lemon slices. It's a good deal for alcohol refills, but I don't drink much. We order 5 servings of upper hormone, 5 servings of oily hormone, large rice, medium rice (for me), and small rice (for my mother). The small rice portion is big for my mother, so she ends up eating from my bowl. We also order an extra serving of bean sprout namul because the complimentary portion isn't enough. The kimchi is too spicy for me, so I skip it. It tastes like authentic Korean kimchi. The hormone is served, and it looks delicious! We grill it on the hot plate, and the sizzling sound is irresistible. The upper hormone is thick and chewy, with a juicy texture. I used to prefer regular hormone when I was a child, but now I like this one more. The oily hormone, also known as beef hormone, is incredibly juicy and flavorful. It melts in your mouth. We cook it until the excess fat drips off, and it shrinks to almost a round shape. We enjoy eating it and order an extra serving of upper hormone later on. We finish our meal and it was so delicious! We ate 11 servings of hormone in total. I'm in a good mood now, forgetting my initial grumpiness. The hormone here is truly the best! Thank you for the meal! We'll definitely come back again. After this, I'll drop my mother off at home and head to karaoke. I got too excited and forgot to take photos, so I might have trouble writing the karaoke review (laughs).

Located on the east side of Chuodori in Minami 5 Higashi 2, Sapporo. The parking lot is on the 1st floor and the restaurant is on the 2nd floor. I heard that the hormone (offal) is delicious, so I decided to stop by for a quick bite. The restaurant opens at 4:00 PM, which is convenient. I arrived a little after 4:00 PM. There were two customers before me and many more came in after. The restaurant is quite spacious with a counter for solo diners. I ordered a lemon sour, which I usually don't drink, but for some reason, I prefer it with yakiniku. The complimentary dish was bean sprout namul, which used to be common only in yakiniku restaurants. From 5:00 PM, they serve izakaya-style dishes, so I ordered a small amount. I tried the rumored hormone and sagari. The hormone was seasoned with miso but not too strong, making it easy to eat. I also added a small rice and vegetable soup. The sagari had a good texture and flavor. The soup was delicious with plenty of vegetables, providing a satisfying meal. The portion of hormone was quite large, and it took a while to finish grilling it until it had a nice char. The restaurant gradually became crowded with groups of customers, mostly families. There were spacious raised tatami seating areas that seemed safe for children. I found out that there is a Nanko-en in Susukino, and there is also a Higashi-koen. Both are yakiniku restaurants. Unfortunately, there is no Nishi-koen. Overall, I was very satisfied with the delicious yakiniku at a reasonable price. Thank you for the meal.

Sapporo night, second restaurant. Despite being full, I really wanted to visit this long-standing yakiniku restaurant. The spacious retro interior has a nice atmosphere. Started with beer and makgeolli in a tokkuri. The 700 yen rib-eye is decently thick and tasty. The Genghis Khan for 500 yen is tender and not gamey. The 1300 yen beef tongue needs to be cut with the scissors provided as it comes in a large piece. The 450 yen hormone is surprisingly delicious for the price. This restaurant had great taste, value, and atmosphere.

On a regular day, I was told that no reservation was needed when I called, so I entered without one. I arrived around 8pm and there were only about 10% of customers. The yakiniku dishes were slightly above average in taste and overall well seasoned, very delicious. The restaurant was clean, had plenty of parking spaces, and was within walking distance from Susukino. I would like to visit again.

A long-established yakiniku restaurant located in the Sojosen River East area. I believe it has been in business for quite a long time, as it has been around since my student days. In the mood for yakiniku, I visited for dinner after more than ten years. The interior of the restaurant has counter seats, table seats, and sunken kotatsu-style seating, with a fairly large number of seats. The lighting is somewhat dim, creating an atmosphere that feels like a mix of a yakiniku restaurant and a Chinese restaurant. We were seated at a table without having to wait, but it seemed that many regular customers were coming and going, as the restaurant was almost full until we left. So, I think it's better to make a reservation if you plan to visit. The yakiniku is cooked using a smokeless roaster, so there wasn't much of a smell left on our clothes. We ordered dishes like the ones in the photo. All the dishes were delicious, but for me, the tongue was the best. Overall, the prices are reasonable, and the quality of the meat seems to be high in comparison. I think it's good for those who prioritize meat quality over low prices.

I don't go to yakiniku restaurants often, but if I were to go back to one from the past, it would be this place, a regular customer. It's a popular place with delicious horumon, so I recommend making a reservation by phone. Both the salt and miso flavors are tasty. It has a bit of a Korean influence, with authentic and delicious kimchi and bibimbap. The salad is also recommended with generous portions. As a complimentary dish, there is namul with bean sprouts in a small dish. The parking lot is quite difficult to find a spot, maybe around 5-6 spaces. Well, you can't go wrong with anything you order. I don't have much knowledge about yakiniku, so I can only tell if it's tough or tender and if it tastes good. Just a tip, the difference between the regular and large rice portions is not much, but there is a significant price gap, so it's better to order two regular portions instead of a large one. Also, dessert options are limited to sherbet. It's hard to review yakiniku without much to say (laughs).

This is my first post even though I've been coming here for the past 15 years to celebrate anniversaries. My whole family are fans of this place, so we come here for birthdays, Father's Day, Mother's Day, Respect for the Aged Day, or any other reason we can think of. Everything we eat here is delicious, but the hormone (offal) is the best. The hormone here is tender and has no unpleasant odor, making it easy for even older people to enjoy. There are three types of hormone to choose from: slightly chewy and rich in flavor, hormone with a more intense texture, and hormone that melts in your mouth with concentrated umami. This time, we ordered all three types along with the bean sprout namul. It's so delicious that we ended up eating 15 servings between the three of us. We'll definitely be back again. Thank you for the feast.

Recommended by my boss at work, I came to this department's drinking party for the first time. The specific reason for the recommendation was not explained in detail, but I understood the reason once I came. The beautifully marbled kalbi (even though it's not the top cut), the tender and moist sagari, and the flavorful mino with spicy sauce were all delicious. Most of all, the cutting of the meat was exquisite, providing a satisfying size that cooked to just the right moistness. And the most striking impression this time was the homemade kimchi. It was simply delicious. Recently, sweet and lightly pickled kimchi has been popular, but there seem to be fewer places serving properly fermented kimchi like here. Regardless of the reasons, it was just delicious. We ordered five plates among five of us, and I'm sure we'll order more next time. At my company, it seems to be used often for welcome and farewell parties, but after coming this time, I understand why. Next time, I want to come privately without any hesitation.

If you're craving meat or horumon, head to Hokkoen! This restaurant serves delicious food at surprisingly affordable prices. You can eat to your heart's content without breaking the bank. Their Kalbi soup (extra spicy) is also a must-try. Highly recommended!
