Sushi restaurant near Sapporo Station!! Order the top quality Kura on the nigiri menu!! The ingredients are high quality, with Engawa from Hirame and Uni from Otaru, which is currently in season, being a must-try!! Do they serve one piece at a time at night?? The head chef is a young guy with a very frank demeanor that might divide opinions! At first, he seemed a bit difficult to talk to, but as you get used to it, he turns out to be easy to chat with and friendly! It might be better to come with someone you are close to!

If you want to enjoy fresh seafood in Hokkaido, this is the place to be! The owner, a skilled sushi chef, serves up delicious sushi. You can choose to have all the sushi served at once or have it made one by one. I opted for the latter to enjoy the freshly made sushi right away. The rice portions are slightly larger, so if you want to try a variety, it might be better to ask for smaller pieces. Here's what I had:
- Kamatoro: Thick and melt-in-your-mouth
- Salmon: Almost like toro
- Katsuo Hotate: Thick scallop
- Kanpachi: A replacement for tai and mebaru from Honshu, light and flavorful
- Shiretoko-produced Saba: Firm and tasty mackerel
- Kegani: Indulgent crab sushi
- Botan Ebi: Juicy and firm
- Botan Ebi Miso: Enjoyable to the last bite
- Ikura: Firm texture with a good soy sauce flavor
- Uni: Mild and delicious
- Shirako: Milky and delicious with ponzu sauce
- Salmon and Ikura Gunkan: A classic combination
- Tamago: Sweet and satisfying
- Miso soup: Delicious and comforting broth
The atmosphere is cozy with counter and table seating options. It's great for any occasion, but I recommend smaller groups for a more interactive experience with the chef. Payment can be made in cash or card, but the owner seems to prefer cash. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience!

Visited on the second day of my stay in Sapporo. Despite calling last minute, they kindly accommodated us. Ordered the "Oribe" sushi and green tea plum wine. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The homemade salted squid appetizer was also tasty. We also ordered the seafood chawanmushi, which was served piping hot as it was being steamed after we ordered. The broth was rich and flavorful. The restaurant had decorations celebrating their 10th anniversary, showing their popularity among celebrities. The atmosphere seemed more geared towards regular customers, but they treated a first-timer like me with respect. However, the lively chef may not be everyone's cup of tea, as he tends to engage in conversation. This could be a matter of personal preference, and the chef may adjust his approach based on the customer.

I made a reservation by phone about 30 minutes before visiting the restaurant. The counter was full, so I was seated in a raised tatami area. The seating was comfortable, although the view of a crooked storage door from the raised area was a bit distracting. I ordered the chef's choice with a focus on slowly enjoying sake, starting with a sashimi platter and then some small dishes. The items that came out were: 1. Assorted sashimi (salmon, medium fatty tuna, octopus, squid, scallop, whelk) 2. Homemade salted fish eggs (finely chopped and tasted like marinated fish) 3. Fresh oysters (from Senpoushi, very delicious) 4. Grilled silver cod (marinated in sake lees) Additionally, we were served a baby asparagus pickles as a complimentary appetizer, and I also ordered a plate of fresh sushi at the end. The portion of the sushi was perfect! For drinks, we enjoyed draft beer, highballs, three glasses of Sandai Sakura sake, and three glasses of Kitano Katsu sake. The total bill came to 26,900 yen. The service from the waiter was excellent, and the food was outstanding. I would love to visit this restaurant again, but it would be even better if it was around 5,000 yen cheaper.

I went on a friend's recommendation. The atmosphere was bright, the food was delicious, and the service was great without being overly attentive. I made a same-day reservation for a Monday visit. There were three of us at the counter. It's a bit hard to find underground, but the food and service were top-notch. I heard the oysters were a must-try so I ordered some. Even the cheaper sushi was satisfying (medium quality). The fish and rice were both delicious. I would definitely like to visit again. You can go without worrying about a dress code. Highly recommended.

There were various reasons that led me to have dinner around Sapporo Station, as I arrived late, I wasn't familiar with Sapporo, and I was alone. I decided to try this restaurant I stumbled upon, as I wanted to have sushi. It seemed to be one of the eateries in the dining area in the basement of the Hokkaido Communication Building. Inside, there were a few gentlemen having a lively conversation at the counter. I found an empty spot at the end of the counter and sat down. I started with a Sapporo beer in a bottle. It seemed like the kind of place where you could enjoy chatting with the chef. The gentlemen and the chef were having a great time together, sharing drinks. Somehow, a young male staff member was assigned to sit next to me and engage in conversation. It seemed to be part of their service philosophy. When the staff member told me about the seasonal fish in Hokkaido, the chef asked for my choice of appetizer. I opted for the chef's choice of sashimi, which turned out to be delicious. It included salmon, tuna, crab meat, sea urchin, mostly using local ingredients. It was indeed delicious. When I asked the staff member for a sake recommendation, he brought me "Hokkai no Katsu," which paired well with the rich Hokkaido fish. Before the sushi, I ordered another dish, grilled fatty sea bream. This also paired well with the crisp sake. For the final course, I requested the chef's choice of sushi. In particular, the salmon roe was in season, and I was advised to eat it without soy sauce. The large, plump grains were sweet and delightful. I felt that coming to Hokkaido was worth it. The chef skillfully engaged the people sitting at the counter in conversation, creating a lively atmosphere. I think it would be enjoyable to become a regular at this restaurant. I hope to visit again in the next Sapporo trip, whenever that may be.

In their early 40s, the young chef runs the restaurant excellently with delicious appetizers, sushi, and great customer service. I will definitely visit again. Next time, I want to enjoy a solo drink on a quiet Saturday. I didn't pay for the meal, so I can't comment on the cost performance.

I visited this restaurant at night (visited multiple times). It is located in the basement of a building near Sapporo Station, so the access is convenient but the atmosphere is not great. However, I was very satisfied with the food, including grilled dishes and sushi. The sushi recommended by the chef was always delicious. I am always satisfied whenever I go there. I will definitely visit again.
