Asahikawa Ramen Village. Surprisingly, there were a lot of tourists from overseas visiting. Every place had lines or was full even without them, very busy... and something surprising was happening right in front of me... I wonder where they came from... I don't know what language they're speaking... Later, when I asked the staff, they said there were many Chinese and Thai people. Maybe some are from Taiwan too. They seem to have come from Chitose Airport, not directly from Asahikawa. They're lining up... The popular Tenkin in the back had a line. This time, I decided to go to Ishida, which I hadn't been to in 14 years. Luckily, there was no line. But... it was packed inside. Since I was alone, I was able to sit at the counter right away. The menu at popular places for tourists has English and Chinese characters written besides Japanese. Chinese and Taiwanese people can probably read both. By the way, the same Chinese characters are different from Japanese ones. There is no other language translation for toppings. So... these toppings are probably rarely added by foreigners. It's delicious with butter. Soy Sauce & Small Rice Soy sauce ramen is 800 yen, there was no mention of small rice, but since rice is 150 yen, maybe small rice is 100 yen. Despite being a tourist spot, ramen village is relatively inexpensive, right? Wow, Ishida's ramen after 14 years. It felt like seeing it for the first time. Toppings were chashu, green onions, and menma. The chashu was pork shoulder, well-flavored. The menma was thin. It's surprisingly light despite its appearance. The soy sauce taste itself is strong, like burnt soy sauce. However... I felt a certain acidity. I wondered what this acidity was. I thought it was only at first, but I felt the acidity quite strongly until the end. Curly noodles The noodles are low hydration curly noodles. They match well with the soup. Towards the end, the noodles absorb moisture and become slightly chewy. When I was seated at the counter at first, someone who was leaving didn't close the door in this freezing cold weather. I went to close it myself. Then the owner told me there was a seat open at the back and I could sit there. He's not a stubborn old man as described on the Ramen Village website... to me, he was a very kind uncle. And... the foreigner next to me who was seated before me didn't show any signs of eating the ramen. Instead, he slowly took out something from a bag that looked like an eco bag... Could it be true? A piece of bread, and it seemed to be spread with margarine or something. Furthermore, a drink that looked unfamiliar, like orange. Are you going to... eat this? I was shocked. He ate it normally. The lady in the back had finished her ramen, waiting for the man to finish his bread. Additionally, despite being busy, the owner was taking pictures from the kitchen. He's not a stubborn old man... he's a very generous-hearted shop owner, I thought. But this... is quite bad manners, I thought. Is it the fault of this person or this country... what I understood is that Ishida is a kind shop. Thank you for the meal. ⇒ ◇ The ramen has a sour taste, feeling the bitterness of soy sauce ◇
