For dinner, I had a late reservation at a dessert shop in a building near Nishi 15-chome. The shop, Capsule Monster, had a variety of cute baked goods on display. I tried the Fromage 4 and Fromage 5, which are cheesecakes made without emulsifiers or artificial flavors. Fromage 4 was a classic cheesecake with a cocoa and almond sponge base, while Fromage 5 had a refreshing sour cream and cream cheese topping. I visited the shop around 4:00 pm on a holiday. Since there was no parking lot at the shop, I parked at a coin parking lot in front of the shop for 300 yen per 60 minutes. The shop was a new type of place, like a corner of an apartment building where various rental spaces were available. When visiting, you press the number of the desired shop at the apartment entrance and ring the doorbell. Then you are allowed to enter. I took the elevator up to the top. Currently, the cafe space was not open, only offering takeout. Everything looked delicious, so I had a hard time choosing. I tried the Honey Financier for 210 yen, the Chocolate Financier for 220 yen, the (Boat) Chai for 270 yen, the Mini Financier for 270 yen, the Coco for 310 yen, and the Vanilla Sable for 220 yen. The Honey Financier was moist, with a subtle sweetness and a rich flavor, very elegant. I fell in love with the Mini Financier, as I love small things. The set of these tiny financiers was incredibly cute, yet packed with deliciousness. The Coco was a coconut meringue, light and crispy! When you eat it, you gradually feel the sweetness of the coconut. It's so light that you could eat as much as you want. Thank you for the meal!

It is recommended to check the opening hours and days of the sweets shop selected as one of the top 100 shops. The building looks more like a housing complex or apartment building, rather than a typical store. The cake I tried was a buttercream-based one, which may appeal to those who enjoy buttercream, as it had a good balance of flavors.

Long time no see Capsule Monster! Two groups of customers before me at 12:30 on Saturday. They were choosing baked goods, so I went to the register first. I'm a Monsutour who can't go on adventures. lol Added a chiffon cake. My husband chose Cocoa Banana and Chocolat Blanc. When we got home, we enjoyed them with iced tea and iced coffee. Oh, all of them had a strong flavor contrast, were well-balanced, and delicious! The canelé had a stronger bake than usual, with plenty of crispy parts. The chiffon cake seemed like you could eat it endlessly! lol

Visit on 8/21/2023 (Mon) at 17:39. There were no other customers in the store, and both baked goods and sweets were available for purchase, despite it being late afternoon. The shop is located in a room in an apartment building, making it a bit difficult to find without specific directions. I purchased a cake called Coco Ananas. It had a texture similar to butter cake, with a passion fruit flavor that was both refreshing and rich. There was a wide variety of baked goods available, with enough options to not be able to try everything in one visit. The baked goods had unique characteristics, but they were not overwhelming and were very delicious to enjoy.

Located a 3-5 minute walk from Nishi 15-chome Station is Patisserie Capsule Monster, a popular patisserie operating on the 5th floor of a seemingly ordinary residential building. Since 2018, they have been selected as one of the top 100 sweets shops by Sweets East four times in a row. While this shop is take-out only, you can bring their cakes to the café on the same floor and enjoy them there. I tried the Noah cake this time. The rich caramel and Calpis buttercream were incredibly indulgent, with the quality butter flavor spreading in your mouth along with the sweetness of caramel. The crunchy cookie dough, walnuts, macarons, and buttercream complemented each other perfectly! With reasonable pricing and high satisfaction, you can definitely enjoy some delicious sweets here. The shop is small as it is in a one-room apartment, but it is filled with a wide selection of baked goods, making it hard to choose. I decided to pick items that I could finish eating as my dinner in a hotel. Today, I purchased the following 5 items: Cannele ¥320, Scone (Gorgonzola) ¥290, Maple Sugar Financier ¥210, Pecan Financier ¥240, and Rocher ¥310. I accidentally went into the wrong building because the exterior looks like a regular apartment building (lol). I bought four cakes: Classic, Noah, Anastasia, and Blueberry Buckle. I visited a hospital nearby and found a unique coffee shop inside a regular apartment building. I ordered Hazelnut Financier x1, Pistachio Financier x1, and Normal Financier x1, along with a drip coffee from Sugitani Coffee. The total cost was 950 yen. The Financiers were not too sweet, perfect for a man like me, and the Sugitani Coffee was rich and mild. They paired perfectly together. I will definitely come back again. During my trip to Hokkaido, I stayed at a hotel near a hundred-yen shop where I happened to find a capsule monster selling sweets. The shop was located in a room in an apartment building and they were selling baked goods and cakes. They had delicious treats that you couldn't find in other stores. I bought Financier II and Chocolate Financier Inspiration ver, Tonka Bean Financier Chocolate ver, Chocolate Orange Walnut Financier, and Salt and Rum Financier Chocolate ver. All the baked goods were made with a lot of butter, giving them a moist texture and sweetness, with accents of nuts and orange in the ingredients. The Financiers coated with chocolate allowed you to enjoy the deliciousness of the Financier along with the sweetness of chocolate. All the sweets were very delicious, and I was able to enjoy a variety of treats!

I was recommended to go there by a friend, but the directions were a bit confusing so I thought it would be best to go with someone who knows the way at first. I bought a Tonka Sakura cake, Fig scone, Lavender Earl Grey financiers, Spice cookies, and Rocher Noir Zette. The Tonka Sakura cake had a strong scent of tonka beans and almond-like flavor. The pistachio layer at the bottom had a crunchy texture, while the buttercream layer on top was light and refreshing. It was delicious, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. The Fig scone had a bread-like texture rather than crumbly, and the fig flavor was subtle but tasty. Among the other baked goods, I particularly enjoyed the Lavender Earl Grey financiers. You enter and nervously take the ordinary elevator in the apartment building up to the 5th floor. This somehow tickles the adventurous spirit of sweets enthusiasts. The shop has a very cute interior with baked goods on display. The café on the same floor has a gray interior and plays jazz music from records, sometimes even the Beatles. It's a trendy café with many female customers. Capsule Monster is inspired by gacha machines. This appeals to the adventurous spirit of boys. Today, only baked goods are available. There's a spiced pound cake, croquant noisette, and financiers, three in total. They go great with coffee. The financiers are priced at 210 yen. The pastry chef, Taku Hidaka, used to work at the famous café Mori Hiko in Sapporo Maruyama. His sense of creating sweets that pair well with coffee shines through. Oh, it's so much fun. You should definitely go on a Monster Quest too. In French, it's called Monstre.
