On an irregular day off on Friday, as usual, I started thinking about lunch from the morning. After finishing my errands in Sapporo Station's underground shopping area, I decided to take a stroll through APIA. It seems like the Western noodle shop that used to be in Paseo has moved here? Well, both the Kyoto-style spaghetti shop and the Western noodle shop are similar types of restaurants anyway (laughs). As I was walking towards Akarenga Terrace thinking about having soup curry, I remembered a brand that I hadn't visited yet. Although it was about 13 minutes past opening time, the restaurant was about 70% full. The female staff led me to a counter seat, or rather a table for about 8 people partitioned off with dividers, with a strange plant in the middle. I remember seeing something similar in the ramen shop on the basement floor of a building near the Clock Tower. The ordering process here is similar to Gusto and other places, using a tablet. 1. Choose your preferred soup curry and tap it. 2. Select the type of soup and tap it. 3. Choose the level of spiciness and tap it. 4. Select the amount of rice and tap it to complete the order. At that point, the order goes to the kitchen like in other restaurants. I chose the "Chicken and Vegetables" for 1,485 yen, with regular soup, level 4 spiciness, a large 280g portion of rice for an additional 55 yen, crispy fried chicken, and added grated natto topping for 165 yen, bringing the total to 1,705 yen. Since the restaurant was quite busy, it took about 20 minutes for the order to arrive. The ingredients included the usual red and yellow bell peppers, eggplant, okra, broccoli, carrots, pumpkin, and lotus root. There were also soybeans and wood ear mushrooms, which were a bit unusual. The bone-in crispy chicken was hidden at the bottom. The grated natto... could it be that they didn't split two packs for three people? As for the soup curry... it was different from the usual. It had a thickness similar to a potage soup. The surface of the soup was lukewarm, while the bottom was slightly hotter. The rice was a blend of white and brown rice, which was also unusual. The texture of the rice was slightly chewy. The ingredients, including the bone-in chicken, were small, but the standout was the large and thick burdock root. The level 4 spiciness wasn't very spicy, and the spiciness was not very pronounced. Well, it was a learning experience. Thank you for the meal.
