At the famous long-established ramen shop Araton in Sapporo's off-market, I ordered the soy sauce flavored ramen with seasoned egg. It arrived in about 5 minutes. The soup was a light tonkotsu base with a rich seafood broth, enhanced by the burnt soy sauce that added a strong salty flavor without being overpowering. The thick noodles had a firm chewiness that paired well with the soup. Each element of the dish stood out yet blended together harmoniously. This ramen reminded me that ramen can be considered junk food, but it's the kind of junk food that you can get addicted to. I recommend trying this unique and delicious bowl of ramen at least once. Delicious.

Sapporo lunch soy sauce ramen, extra large size for 950 yen. Even though summer is over, it still feels quite hot in Hokkaido. The refreshing early autumn seems to have disappeared. This ramen is a must-have in Sapporo. Today's broth was on the lighter side, I prefer it a bit stronger. It's been a while since I had the extra large size, but I couldn't finish it, I guess I'm getting old.

Sapporo Lunch Shoyu Ramen for 950 yen. This time I tried their ramen after having their tsukemen last time. The tsukemen was delicious, but this ramen is their original dish only available here. Today's soup base was more subdued, but it gave off an elegant flavor. Despite the fierce competition in Sapporo's ramen scene, this popular restaurant has been thriving for years.

Sapporo lunch tsukemen for 950 yen. I arrived around 11 AM on Sunday and didn't have to wait to be seated. It was a hot day in Sapporo, so I decided to have tsukemen after a long time. I was happy that I could get a large serving for the same price. The noodles were cooked to 500g, similar to a regular serving. The soup had a strong flavor of fish bones, which is characteristic of this restaurant. I was satisfied with this bowl. This place is really delicious as always.

I visited around 1 pm and chose the rich tsukemen. I ordered the large size with extra noodles. As always, it was delicious. The taste has remained consistent over the years. Personally, I feel like this is my favorite tsukemen shop. It was a bit over 1000 yen, but I think it's worth it.

A rich broth made with plenty of fish bones spreads in your mouth, followed by a punchy soy sauce flavor with a hint of pork fat to balance it out. This ramen has a strong and bold flavor profile. The large size is free. I think they can offer this ramen because they have access to plenty of fish bones at the market.

●2023/06/13/THU#097★Araton Main Store@Tsukemen ¥950
On this day, it was another day of motorcycle license training. Before the 4:00 PM lesson, I suddenly felt like eating that thing from that place, so I decided to go for it! I arrived at 2:30 PM and luckily there were empty seats available, so I smoothly took a seat. I was able to watch the owner himself boiling the noodles and cooling them with running water, which gave me goosebumps for real ( ゚ー゚)ウ ( 。_。)ン "Tsukemen" Bam! The noodles were generously served at the same price, which was nice♡ The thick noodles had a bouncy and smooth texture when slurped! The aroma of the soup was subtle with little to no aftertaste, but when you dipped the noodles into the flavorful soup and slurped them, an indescribable deliciousness spread in your mouth•*¨*•.¸¸♬︎ The chewy chashu with a hint of pepper and the delicious menma were also really tasty (*^^)v The soup was well-seasoned and you could easily gulp it down! Although the initial roughness from the opening has somewhat softened, I was still completely satisfied. It was incredibly delicious~~~♡ Thank you for the meal ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

I ordered the special thick tsukemen with extra noodles and cold serving (1,300 yen) along with an additional slice of chashu (130 yen), totaling 1,430 yen. I visited a ramen shop that had unusually high ratings in the market and decided to try their tsukemen which was recommended. Since they didn't have flavored eggs, I added a slice of chashu. The soup tasted weak and not rich as expected. It felt too slimy and I was worried it wouldn't hold up to the cold serving. When I tried the noodles, they lacked depth in flavor. Adding some spicy powder helped a bit. Not having flavored eggs was a disappointment. And they didn't even provide a ladle. The soup got cold quickly and wasn't enjoyable at all. They gave me some soup broth at the end, but that's when they finally gave me a ladle, which was a bit too late. The taste was as expected, and it's not healthy to finish all the soup, so I left most of it behind and left. Well, that was disappointing. Thank you for the meal.

At the popular tsukemen restaurant, there was a line of customers during lunchtime. The turnover was quick, so the wait wasn't too bad. We ordered three small bottles of Ebisu beer for two people. The owner kindly gave us a complimentary appetizer. Thank you. The spicy tsukemen had a subtly spicy broth that paired well with the thick noodles. It was delicious. The rich tsukemen had a slightly thick broth. I want to try the rich tsukemen next time.

"Araton Tsuke-men. A classic tsuke-men dish. The homemade Menma is a great accent. There is fish powder for seasoning on the table, and the amenities are well-stocked for those who want them. The dipping soup is also solid and refreshing. Thank you for the meal."

Visited for the fourth time. Concerned about the pandemic, but unfortunately it was closed. Third time it was a temporary closure!? This time, I happened to pass by a place I didn't plan to visit and it was open. As soon as I entered the restaurant around lunchtime, there were about 5 empty seats at the L-shaped counter, so I was confident I could eat right away. There was a small ticket machine about 6 steps to the left after entering the store. I purchased the "Special Soy Sauce Ramen for 1,200 yen." I later realized that the special ramen no longer included the boiled egg. It seems that the egg situation is tough. Furthermore, with the current high prices, it's okay to keep raising the prices of ramen. Nowadays, you can eat pretty good ramen in Europe, but it easily exceeds 2,000 yen (depending on the exchange rate). Say "No!" to the trend of glorifying ramen shops that have maintained the same prices for 30 years. It's okay to keep raising the prices of delicious ramen. It's nice that the large serving is free here. I took advantage of that and ordered a large serving. I sat down smoothly and the ramen was served in about 10 minutes. The rich soy sauce soup looked delicious, and the broth seemed good. I immediately tried the soup. The combination of soy sauce, pork bone, and bonito was amazing. It's a taste that's irresistible when you're hungry. The thick noodles were a perfect match. This was a satisfying ramen! However, because of the intense flavor, the large serving was really pushing it. I also tried my companion's tsukemen. The noodles were different. A bit on the lighter side! In return, the dipping sauce here was also incredibly flavorful. Delicious! As expected, they specialize in tsukemen. This is not your typical Sapporo ramen (laughs). It was a great visit! Thank you for the meal! ☆3.67

After finishing work nearby, I decided to have some ramen because it was cold. I visited this place, which used to be in Shinjuku but has since closed down. Apparently, this is the main store. The shop is famous for its tonkotsu soup made with fish broth. While their main dish is tsukemen, I don't eat it often, so I went with the soy sauce ramen. It looks simple, with thick noodles, large bamboo shoots, thick slices of chashu, and plenty of green onions. The soup has a strong fish broth flavor that hits you right away. It may be a bit polarizing due to its intensity, but I found it delicious. The chashu slices are very thick and satisfying to eat. On a snowy afternoon, enjoying this ramen helped warm me up. Due to the current egg shortage, all egg-related menu items were unavailable. I wonder how long this egg shortage will last... Thank you for the meal~

When I was in Tokyo, I used to eat tsukemen quite often, but it seems like there are not many tsukemen fans in Hokkaido as there are not many delicious tsukemen shops. In that context, I remembered Araton near the client's place and went there for lunch with my colleague. I ordered the hot tsukemen. Unfortunately, they didn't have soft-boiled eggs. This may be due to the current egg shortage situation. Nevertheless, the tsukemen after a long time was still delicious.

I visited the restaurant about 30 minutes after it opened and it was already full. I ended up ordering ramen after some consideration. Even though I had already eaten a seafood bowl in the morning and was full, the ramen was so delicious and easy to eat. The soup was especially amazing. Just a heads up, they only accept cash for payment!

Tsukemen. Outside market. It's been a while since I came here. It's close to 2 pm, so thankfully no line. The tsukemen here has a strong garlic flavor. Surprisingly light, not as rich as I expected. The noodles are a bit short and uneven, which is a bit disappointing. I like the thickness though. Overall, it was delicious.

[Waiting Time] Visited around 3 pm on a weekday. No waiting time, was able to get in right away. The market shops close early, but this place is open throughout the day, which is convenient. [Taste] Seafood pork bone ramen. It's rich and flavorful. Delicious, but may be too heavy for women.

It's been about 10 years since my last visit... Finally made it back. I ordered the classic special dipping noodles in large size with extra noodles (800g). The soup is a blend of fish and pork bone. Wasn't it more flavorful before? For me, it felt a bit lacking. The noodles are the thick noodles from Kanejin. These are definitely good. Delicious!

Today is Sunday, and as soon as the store opened, there was a line. I like ramen, but I'm not a big fan of tsukemen, so I've been to a few popular shops before but haven't found one that I really like. I hesitated between shoyu ramen, but decided to challenge the tsukemen since it's highly rated here. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes, and the soup wasn't too thick, which was good, but it still didn't suit my taste. I'm sorry. I think it's probably delicious, though.

I visited this restaurant for lunch after a long time, so I'll just upload some photos. According to my records on Tabelog, it had been 11 years since my last visit. I ordered the "Araton Special Rich Tsukemen (1,300 yen)" with extra noodles. It had been so long that I couldn't remember the exact taste, but it seemed like the fishiness of the fish broth had been toned down, making it easier to eat. The thick and chewy noodles can be upgraded to a large serving for free, so I ended up quite full. It may be a matter of personal preference, but I think it's good for those who like rich tsukemen.

I visited around 2:00 pm on a regular day. Luckily, there was no line to get in, possibly due to the bad weather. There were fewer customers than usual. I decided to visit after a long time because it was often crowded or sold out before. I ordered the rich tsukemen for 1050 yen. When I tried it after a long time, I felt like the taste had decreased compared to my previous memory. Considering the aftertaste and toppings, I felt that 1050 yen was not a good value for money compared to other delicious restaurants.
