The location of the restaurant in a residential area is a bit off. Visited at 12:10 on a weekday with 5 groups and 9 customers already there. It was said that it would take about 30 minutes for the food to be served, but decided to wait. The café-like interior has 4 counter seats and several table seats. The recommended roast chicken was already sold out, so I ordered the "Chicken and Vegetable Curry (1250 yen)" with the chicken crispy, spice level at 4 (extra spice for free), and rice size at M200g (free up to LL300g). As announced in advance, it took about 25 minutes for the food to arrive. The soup was served in a hot iron pot. The turmeric rice was served on a wooden plate. The soup had a smooth texture and a hint of acidity, but the richness was amazing. Deeply delicious! The spice level was still manageable, and it added to the deliciousness. This was really to my liking!!! However, the turmeric rice was slightly dry, but was this intentional? Personally, it was not to my liking. The ingredients were cooked carefully and tasted delicious! The service was polite, and I was very impressed (the owner even came out of the kitchen to greet us when we left). The cost performance is decent as the extra spice and rice size increase were free. Overall, it was a soup curry that I really enjoyed (it would rank in my top 3). I will definitely revisit to try the roast chicken next time.

I had been there before, but the taste memory was of crispy chicken and vegetable curry with a spice level of 10. I ordered it and it came out in less than 5 minutes. The chicken looked crispy but was too hard. It was so tough that I had to use a knife, something I had never done with soup curry before. The tendons were terrible, and while I was struggling with the chicken, the crispiness completely disappeared. The soup temperature also dropped, making the overall flavor seem weak. And it wasn't spicy at all. When I asked for more spice, they took the pot and added more, but even after raising it to level 10, it still wasn't spicy. I felt awkward asking again, so I just endured it. Also, the interior of the restaurant was too hot. I wonder if they don't have air conditioning. I probably won't visit again.

Located at 6-11 Kikusu 6-1, Shiroishi-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido, this restaurant is quite close to Kikusui Station. Upon arriving, I found that the popular ramen shops nearby had long lines, so I decided to try this place instead. The restaurant is on the 1st floor of an apartment building, with parking spaces available in front. The exterior walls are painted yellow, giving it a cute kitchen car-like appearance. I visited on a Sunday around 1 pm. Inside, there are 4 counter seats facing the kitchen, 3 tables for 4 people, and one 2-seater table. I was seated at a table that was wobbly, so I had to stabilize it myself. The recommended dish, Roast Chicken Soup Curry, was unfortunately sold out, so I opted for the Crispy Chicken and Vegetable Curry instead. The curry was served in an iron pot, with visible chunks of chicken and vegetables. The rice was Turmeric rice, and I chose a spice level of 5 out of 10. The soup was light with a hint of spices, easy to eat. However, the spice level was lower than expected, and the crispy chicken was not crispy at all, lacking seasoning and tenderness. It left me feeling unsatisfied with the overall experience.

This is a soup curry restaurant located in the Kikusu area of Higashi-ku, Sapporo. It was my first visit. I was thinking of getting the Natto Keema curry based on my research, but a limited-time menu caught my eye, so I ordered the white fish fry curry. Initially, I ordered just one fry, but I was recommended by the staff to change it to two, so I did. I asked for the soup to be level 3 spiciness, but it wasn't very spicy. The soup had a good balance of spices and was delicious, although it didn't have any standout features. The fish fry was probably pre-made, but it was tasty, so I was glad I got two. They have parking, so I might come back again. Thank you for the meal~ (^_^)

I visited "Spice Pot" for the first time on June 25th. I had to spend about an hour in this area, so I visited for lunch alone at 11:10 am. As I entered, there was the kitchen on the right and counter seats, and several table seats on the left. There were two staff members, a man working around the kitchen and a woman overseeing the floor. I was free to choose my seat, but since I was alone, I chose the counter seat to see the kitchen. I ordered the Chicken and Vegetable Curry (spiciness level 3, rice size M) for 1280 yen. The staff recommended the roast chicken, but since it was my first time, I chose the normal chicken. The portion size of rice and the spiciness level were the same price, which was a good point. The food was served in about 10 minutes. The dish was probably made of cast iron, which looked like it had been cleaned of black rust. The main chicken dish was accompanied by other vegetables such as sliced bell peppers, large onion slices, half-cut eggplant, sweet pumpkin, quarter-cut carrots, shiny fried potatoes. The rice was served on a wooden plate, and it was slightly firm and seasoned with turmeric. There were some spices sprinkled on top of the rice. The soup was oily, and although it was labeled as medium spicy, I felt it could have been spicier. I will try ordering level 4 or higher next time. Thank you for the meal.

I visited for lunch and ordered the crispy chicken and vegetable soup curry. I chose the level of spiciness and rice portion, opting for level 4 spiciness and a medium size (200g). They also offer a small size (100g) which is great for when you're watching your diet. This time, I went for a bit more, haha. The spiciness was the second highest level on the menu, but it wasn't too spicy for me. The chicken was a crispy grilled chicken leg, and the vegetables had a nice natural flavor. However, I felt that the soup could use a bit more seasoning to better complement the dish. The service was attentive, although it took a bit of time. It would be helpful if they clearly marked the parking spaces to make it easier for visitors to find a spot.

This shop is located in Shiroishi-ku, Sapporo City. Personally, I'm not a fan of soup curry, and there are only a few places where I can eat it. Today, I visited a shop that I had been wanting to try for a while. I find soup curry unappealing because the spices have a medicinal smell, it's not just spicy but painfully hot, and it can lead to stomach issues the next day. I think of it as a type of herbal soup that should warm the body or help with digestion, so I believe it's important to find a soup curry shop that tastes good and suits your body. The shop is located in a residential area and has a stylish appearance. When I entered, all the staff were women! The tables were filled with women too! I suddenly felt out of place as a man! I ordered the recommended dish: Roast Chicken and Vegetable Curry with a spice level of 3 and large rice portion. It arrived in about 15 minutes. The roast chicken was not falling apart tender, but it had a strong flavor and was delicious. The roast chicken alone was also available for purchase.

It's a soup curry restaurant that I visit a few times a year because it's nearby. The menu changes, and this time I tried the crispy chicken soup curry for the first time. The staff, three women instead of the master, seem to be popular. The crispy skin was delicious. The only thing is that the pumpkin was a bit firm. I love the taste of the curry, so I will definitely go back!

I finally visited this restaurant that reigns at the top of the Tabelog rankings, although I knew its name. I ordered the Seasonal Vegetable Curry with cheese topping for 1,320 yen. It had a spiciness level of 5, with a side of extra small rice. The curry was delicious with plenty of vegetables, especially the large carrots, mushrooms, broccoli, and tasty potatoes. The spiciness was just right, but I think a level 4 would also be good. My companion ordered the NIKU Special, which was a dish with chicken, pork belly, sausage, and meatballs, and they seemed to enjoy it. The highlight, however, was the dessert, a Financier, which was amazing. It was my first time trying a freshly baked Financier, and it was perfect. The outside was crispy, while the inside was moist. I could eat this every day (although I might gain weight).

I ordered the Crispy Chicken and Vegetable Curry (1300 yen) with level 5 spiciness, as recommended during my first visit, and struggled to eat it, so I tried this one today. I usually eat soup curry with just a spoon, but I prefer chicken that is easy to eat. However, this chicken here is quite a challenge too. I quickly gave up on the spoon and switched to using a knife and fork, separating the chicken onto the wooden plate of rice. I picked the meat off the bone and dipped it back into the soup! Is it bad manners? Maybe. I realized that I prefer chicken with a bit more flavor and tenderness. The tomato-based soup and the large pieces of carrot were delicious. You can order spicier levels starting from level 6, so I might try level 8 next time. I'll also challenge the pork belly. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing work on the weekend, I arrived at the restaurant a little late because work ended later than usual. The lunch rush was already over when I got there. The counter has 6 seats and there are 3 tables. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming. There were 2 other groups of customers when I arrived, and another group came in later. As I looked around the restaurant, I learned that it opened in February this year, and it already had a good number of customers, which made me expect that the food must be good. It was my first time here, so I was unsure of what to order, but I decided on the crispy chicken and vegetable curry with a spice level of 3, in a medium size. It was served to me in about 10 minutes after ordering. The dish consisted of bone-in chicken and vegetables like potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, pumpkin, eggplant, and onions cooked together. The chicken was crispy on the outside and had a great texture. The vegetables were all delicious as well. The soup had a slight tanginess, probably from tomatoes. The overall balance of flavors was excellent, and I enjoyed every bite. The spice level 3 wasn't too strong when I first tasted it, but as I continued eating, I started to sweat a bit, so maybe the spice level was just right. The restaurant served the soup curry in a metal pot, and I was a bit worried about the metallic taste I had experienced at another place before, but luckily, there was no such issue this time. The chicken was a bit challenging to eat with the bones, but it was worth it. This hidden gem of a restaurant definitely deserves its popularity. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On a Saturday afternoon, I crossed Mizuho Ohashi Bridge to head to Shiroishi Ward. It seems like I can start running along the Toyohira River soon. I was worried about the long line at the ramen shop in front of me, but I was able to get in easily. There were two groups of customers at the table seats and I chose to sit at the counter. The menu featured Roast Chicken and Vegetable Curry for 1480 yen. There are no additional charges for spiciness level or rice quantity. I chose medium spiciness and large rice (250 grams). There was an oven in the kitchen, and you could feel the heat reaching the counter seats. It made me want to try the Roast Chicken. The curry was on the thinner side with a good amount of flavor and spiciness. It made me sweat quite a bit. The curry had sliced onions, bell peppers, pumpkins, eggplants, and carrots - all large and typical of soup curry ingredients. But the highlight was the huge Roast Chicken. The skin was crispy, and the meat was quite firm, making it difficult to cut with just a knife and fork. I was given large scissors, but it was still a bit messy trying to handle the big piece of meat. It was challenging to mix the meat with the soup. The meat was flavorful and juicy. Apart from simple roast, there is also a version marinated in spices before roasting, as mentioned by previous reviewers. The rice was cooked firm, and overall, it was a satisfying meal of soup curry. It seems like they have opened a branch in Kotoni as well. Payment can be made with transportation electronic money or credit cards.

Unfortunately, the roast chicken was sold out because I arrived late, so I had the pork belly and vegetable curry instead. The pork belly was light and not too heavy, which was a relief! I was worried about the portion size, but it turned out to be just right. The meat and vegetables were average, but the soup was light yet flavorful with a nice kick of spices. It was a taste that I could get addicted to. Thank you for the meal!

Kikusui area in Shiraishi-ku. There is a shop on Nakadori Street off Nango Street. It is a popular curry restaurant selected as one of the top 100 curry shops in 2020, but I don't have much memory of my previous visit and it didn't leave a lasting impression. There is also a parking lot available. The shop is small but clean and has a sense of security. You can choose rice from SS 100g to LL 300g for free. The spiciness is also free up to level 6, but apparently, you can go even higher. I ordered the Roast Chicken and Vegetable Curry (1480 yen) with LL 300g of rice and spiciness level 5 or 6. It was served in a metal pot that didn't seem to retain heat well, but it was served piping hot. The soup was thin and watery, but had a good balance of richness, acidity, depth, and spices. It had a subtle impact, but the sprinkling of spices at the end added a nice touch. The spiciness, whether level 5 or 6 (I forgot), was not extremely hot, more like a medium spiciness. The Turmeric (Saffron) rice had uneven coloring, was quite firm, slightly dry, but strangely a bit sticky. The Roast Chicken had a beautiful glaze, perfect char, and looked delicious. The seasoning was strong, with a significant sweetness, good texture, and overall tasted amazing. I was surprised by the effort put into serving such a well-made Roast Chicken. I would like to revisit for this delicious dish. The vegetables included potatoes, pumpkins, bell peppers, eggplants, carrots, and onions. The potatoes were fried with the skin on and tasted delicious. The pumpkin was thickly sliced, not as fried as the potatoes, and had a firm texture but not unpleasant. The bell peppers were large and decent, but lacked bitterness or flavor. The eggplants were half-cut and fried, and tasted good. The carrots were quarter-cut vertically and had a firm texture, with a nice balance of bitterness and sweetness. The onions had a tough part near the skin, which could have been avoided in a dish at this price range. Although there were few types of vegetables, the portion was satisfying. Overall, with firm vegetables, firm rice, delicious Roast Chicken, and a somewhat diluted soup impression, this restaurant left a very memorable experience. It was operated by two women who provided excellent service, making it a lovely place. The serving time for the food may be a bit slow, but the meticulously crafted dishes left no room for complaints. Personally, I would consider this to be of top-class quality overall, and many people are likely to find it to be a perfect match for their taste. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I went to lunch with a client. We were seated promptly and I ordered the Jumbo Chicken Katsu with vegetable curry. It took a bit of time for the food to arrive, but it was worth the wait. The restaurant was busy and popular, with some items already sold out. The food was delicious, with the crispy chicken katsu and flavorful curry receiving high praise from my client. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

I happened to get off at Kikusui Station where I used to go to school, and ended up here. The soup has a slightly sour taste and a rich flavor, which is delicious. The roast chicken flavor is strong, but as you eat more, it becomes addictive. It is run by three people. It is located in a slightly hard-to-find place, but those who are seeking this taste filled up the seats quickly and left soon after finishing their meal.

Arrived at the restaurant at 11:00 am on the first day of the year. I was the first customer, followed by 3 groups and 1 person. It had been almost 2 years since my last visit. Sorry for being so neglectful... but the owner remembered me. Starting off 2023 with soup curry! There were some changes since my last visit: a kitchen car painting on the exterior, roast chicken becoming a recommended menu item with a large stone oven, and a price increase from 30 to 70 yen last year. I ordered the "Roast Chicken and Vegetable Curry" (1480 yen) with a spice level of 3 (medium) and large rice (250g). It arrived in about 10 minutes. The soup was rich and delicious as always!!! And it seemed even more flavorful than before!!! The roast chicken had a unique taste and texture compared to regular chicken. The vegetables were cut larger, and the carrots were soft! I was very satisfied with the deliciousness once again. Although they have stuck to traditional dishes in the past, they seem to be showing more individuality now. Roast chicken soup curry is quite unique. I will continue to support them! I will come back sooner next time without waiting so long! (laughs)

Thank you all so much for talking, playing, eating, and before we knew it, it was nighttime. We had so much fun that we lost track of time. After parting ways, let's explore a new restaurant! Who cares about the state of our stomachs! We'll go to "Spice Spot," which has been selected as one of the top 100 curry restaurants and is conveniently located near the station. This will be my 20th visit to a curry restaurant selected as one of the top 100, but I'm the only customer this time. I've experienced being the only customer at other soup curry restaurants like "Ka**suhe**n" and "Be**bera," but being the only one at "Spice Spot" was unexpected. Maybe it's because it's late at night. This time, I ordered the "Jumbo Menchi Katsu and Vegetable Curry (¥1300)" with "SS 100 grams" of rice. I realized at the time of ordering that you can add extra spiciness for free! I wanted to make it really spicy, but I decided to go with level 8, as level 5 is already very spicy according to the restaurant's standards. The food took some time to be ready as it was fried, around 20 minutes. The soup curry that arrived was visually appealing, with a well-crafted presentation and colorful garnishes. Even without knowing the ingredients, the first bite revealed a combination of sourness, sweetness, and then a burst of spiciness that lingered in the throat, followed by a refreshing flavor that didn't leave a burning sensation in the mouth. It was complex, deep, and delicious! Despite adding extra spiciness, the dish was still enjoyable until the last bite without overpowering the umami flavors. The use of an iron pot also played a significant role in keeping the dish hot until the end. The soup curry contained eggplant, pumpkin, potatoes, bell peppers, carrots, and onions. The pumpkin, in particular, stood out for its firm texture and thickness, which enhanced the chewing experience and allowed the sweetness of the pumpkin to be savored. The fried eggplant, with its unique cut, retained its texture without becoming mushy, making it a standout element in the dish. The menchi katsu, which was about the size of the SS rice portion, provided a satisfying crunch without being greasy, and the meat was flavorful, complemented by the sweetness of the minced onions. It would surely taste great with some sauce as well. I enjoyed dipping half of it in the soup to let the flavors soak in. The crispy and moist texture of the breading added another dimension to the dish. Overall, the meal was a delightful experience, with the combination of flavors and textures creating a truly enjoyable dining experience.

It was past 12 o'clock on a regular day. There were two people in front of the shop. I thought they were waiting customers, but they turned out to be staff members welcoming customers. There were no customers ahead of us. Customers were coming in one after another. The shop was not very spacious, but they maintained a good distance between tables, so it felt comfortable. The specialty seemed to be roast chicken, but I opted for the seasonal vegetable curry priced at 1320 yen. I chose a small serving of rice and the spiciness level at 5 out of a maximum of 20. The seasonal vegetables would take a bit of time, but that was fine with me. My friend, on the other hand, ordered the recommended roast chicken and vegetable curry with a mild spiciness level. The rice was served slightly firm and tasted delicious. It complemented the curry well. The wooden plates added a nice touch to the presentation. The curry was loaded with plenty of vegetables and everything tasted delicious. The soup had a flavor that would appeal to everyone, not too strong or light. My spiciness level of 20 wasn't as hot as I expected, but the balance of flavor and heat was just right. My friend's level 1 spiciness, labeled as mild, was actually quite spicy, according to her. The color and appearance of our curries were similar, so maybe the difference in spiciness wasn't that significant. They also offer curry bread, soft-serve ice cream, and other items besides soup curry. Although I didn't experience any strong or surprising flavors, I think this restaurant is a safe choice for those who are not familiar with soup curry or haven't tried it much. Thank you for the meal!
