When traveling to Hokkaido, I often pass through Kushiro Airport, the gateway to eastern Hokkaido. I usually buy delicious souvenirs for my wife in Kushiro city. My wife loves seafood, so I often purchase seafood products from the sea of eastern Hokkaido at shops like Kushinosuke or Fisherman's Work. I buy striped saury, dried fish, and other delicacies and pack them in a cooler bag to put in the trunk of the rental car. Shipping from Hokkaido is expensive, so I can use the saved transportation cost to buy two striped sauries!

There was a photo. It's Kushiro, and I'm alone. When I told my wife, "I'm going to Kushiro," she said, "You're going to buy something, right?" She's counting on dinner. So, I decided to visit a fish market, "Kushinosuke." Of course, I used the navigation and found it. Oh? It's a beautiful and new store, isn't it? It's not big, is it divided? It seems cheap, especially the surf clams, so I bought three. Sashimi and soup will be delicious. Even though there are only men, they are good people. They are very nice people. I also opened the door on the right side, and it's full of women. This side is also appealing. It's not just for women, though. There are many men like dads, bosses, and kabo-chan. The first one is shishamo, but I'll have the sardines. This is a good store, I certify. It feels good here. I'll definitely stop by again. My wife is late today. I'll try grilling the sardines. Just one, of course. Sardines and Kushiro have a deep connection, right? For several years, Kushiro had the highest catch volume in Japan, which was thanks to the sardines. After sardines stopped being caught, Kushiro lost its position to Kesennuma. I just let it go, but it's not like sardines made the catch volume the highest in the country. It's processed products, right? For me, sardines are small and thin, so if you're not careful, you won't notice. It's going to burn quickly. It looks delicious. It's amazing, the flavor from the fat is delicious. It's so delicious that it's dizzying. It's not fishy or greasy. What the heck? Wow, are sardines this delicious? My wife said, "I'm coming home," so I grilled them after receiving the message. I was happy that I grilled the fish, but I didn't want to handle the surf clams. Seriously, I was so bad at it. If I had handled it, it would have been better. Surf clams produce a good broth, but I couldn't fully utilize it. The soup and sashimi are just there. I didn't surprise her, did I? I told you that, right? I ended up wasting it. I should have done the important part myself.

We were talking about trying to find some unique fish that you can't find at the supermarket, and ended up deciding to check out Kuninosuke. From the outside, it didn't look like they sold dried fish or anything like that, just vacuum-packed items. But we decided to go in anyway. There were a few cars parked outside, so it seemed like they had customers. Inside, they had "Kun-saba" in packs. It's a mackerel from Kushiro with a good amount of fat, which can sometimes make it too heavy, but this mackerel is easy to eat. We had it last night and ended up buying more today! Also, don't forget to try the saury too.

I often get asked by many people to send delicious fish from Kushiro. I used to send them from a place called "Washo Market," but it was quite expensive. Nowadays, vacuum-packed fish seems to be the way to go. So, this time I visited "Kunisuke" at Sashitani Shoten, a fish processing direct sales store. They mostly offer vacuum-packed frozen fish, specializing in gifts. This time, I will be sending hokke and tarako from Rausu. Rausu is located near Nemuro on the Shiretoko Peninsula (on the lower side of the map). The hokke here is delicious! By the way, hokke is written as "fish + flower" in kanji. 6 hokke and 500g of tarako cost 5700 yen, which I think is reasonable. They also offer freshly fried kamaboko (fried fish cake) that you can buy right in front of you. I will review this next time! As a follow-up, I received feedback from the recipient. The hokke had a good amount of fat and the saltiness was just right. It was delicious! However, they haven't tried the tarako yet.

I went to the Kanzoku Kyoei Odori store! The bakery I was supposed to visit was closed, so I decided to go to Sukiyaki instead. However, I came across a good store by chance - "Kanzoku" fish store. The store is new and has a wide variety of fish, typical of Kushiro. There is no other store in Obihiro that has such a variety of fish. I should have bought some fish, but since I wasn't going home right away and needed to eat, I decided to buy some "deep-fried fish." There were plain and cheese flavors available for 350 yen, and I chose the plain one. It was ready in 5 minutes, so I took it to my car and tried it. The taste of cod was concentrated, and it felt like eating a cod nugget. It was crispy, not greasy, and easy to eat. I also bought "Kari Pin Suke" for 470 yen as a snack. It was very tender and easy to eat, and it was gone in 2 days. Next time, I will definitely go for the fish. The neighboring crab specialty store also looks good. Thank you for the meal!

Visit date: November 14, 2021 On this day, after lunch, I happened to pass by the Kuniyoshi Kyoei store. I decided to buy some tempura before heading to the main shop I was looking for. I purchased: - Yatarametara Katsu (Plain flavor) - 350 yen - Takobo - 210 yen - Squid - 130 yen I was recommended the Yatarametara Katsu, which was actually quite delicious. It was made with fried pollock, so it wasn't bad at all. It was crispy because it was freshly fried, and the katsu itself was sweet. I also noticed a spicy aroma coming from the distance. The Takobo was tasty, with the pickled ginger adding a nice touch. It reminded me of fried takoyaki. As for the squid tempura, it was just squid with no special seasoning. The flavor of the squid only came through if you happened to bite into a piece of squid. Overall, everything was delicious because it was freshly fried. It's perfect for when you're feeling a bit peckish or missed lunch and find yourself in need of a snack. Thank you for the meal.

Yesterday, I bought some snacks at Kunisuke while shopping. It was my second time buying from there. Inoue Suisan's "Kazuchii" is famous, but Kunisuke also has a similar product. There are other similar products like Hanabata Bokujou's "Kazunoko Cheese Ball" available in supermarkets. I've tried all three, and while Hanabata Bokujou's version has fewer fish roe and feels lacking, Kunisuke's "Puchipuchi Cheese" is almost the same as Kazuchii. The regular flavor is a combination of fish roe and cheese, and they also have a mentaiko flavor, which is unique to Kunisuke. It has the delicious taste of Kunisuke's mentaiko. Kazuchii has become difficult to buy nationwide, but I think "Puchipuchi Cheese" is just as good.

At my partner's parents' house, we had a drinking party and bought ingredients at Kunisuke. We bought two types of "shimesaba" (marinated mackerel) that day, and Kunisuke's shimesaba is really delicious. It's not too sour and has the perfect amount of salt. We made "battera sushi" with it, so I'll share the recipe. When you try it, you'll see that the regular shimesaba and the seared shimesaba taste completely different. The seared one brings out the fat more. I know it's self-praise, but I think shimesaba is much tastier as battera sushi than as sashimi. They should sell this kind of product. Thank you for the meal.

I have been avoiding eating out since the end of February, so from now on, I will continue to review takeout and delivery options with no specific end date in mind. I don't have a fish market nearby, so I decided to order some seafood from a popular shop that locals seem to like. I wonder how it compares to the fish at the aquarium? The items I ordered this time were: half a red sea bream (910 yen), extra-large saury (530 yen), and dried Atka mackerel (830 yen). The saury and red sea bream were particularly delicious. The saury had a rich flavor with a good amount of fat. It seems that it was even featured on Bistro SMAP a while back. The red sea bream had a plump and delicate taste. Compared to famous seafood shops in Hokkaido, it felt very reasonable in terms of price. Even though it was affordable, the size was impressive and the taste was definitely good! I won't have to worry about fish for a while.

This is a souvenir from Kushiro. The fish here is delicious, so I bought a large quantity and had it sent to me. It's not cheap, but compared to izakaya, it's affordable and the taste is different! I also gave a few pieces to my neighbor who I'm grateful to. I immediately started a fire and grilled them! First, I grilled the mackerel. It's fatty and well-seasoned, so you don't need soy sauce! It's amazing when eaten with grated daikon (*≧∀≦*). The hokke and tsubodai are the same. The flesh is firm and everyone in my family enjoyed it with rice! Grilling outside and eating it fresh inside our home... it's delicious, so delicious~♪ There are also options to buy online, so please try it out! Thank you for the meal!

This is a souvenir from my husband's business trip to Kushiro. It is a product from a shop owned by a seafood processing company, Sasatani Shoten. It costs 150 yen per piece, slightly larger than a woman's palm. Many traditional fish paste shops nowadays use frozen fish paste from overseas, but the selling point here is that they only use Hokkaido-made fish paste. When heated in a toaster oven, it has a wonderfully firm texture with minimal binding, showing the sincerity of their satsuma-age. What I found interesting was the sausage roll. I thought it would contain pork sausage, but it actually had fish sausage inside. A fish sausage inside a fish paste... the warm fish sausage without a crispy outer layer was a refreshing surprise. My husband's favorite was the cheese flavor. It had a generous amount of cheese, which becomes gooey when heated, almost like a sauce. Other than cheese and ginger, the filling is modest to savor the deliciousness of the fish paste. As a side note, the soy sauce salmon roe from Sasatani Shoten is incredibly delicious. Both my family and my husband's family have repeatedly ordered it for gifts. Since discovering their soy sauce salmon roe, the frequency of ordering salmon roe at sushi restaurants has decreased.
