This is a souvenir from Hokkaido. I received the classic souvenir from Hokkaido, Rokkatei's Butter Sand. It is made with cookie dough sandwiching butter cream and raisins. You can enjoy the crispy texture of the cookie, the sweet and sour taste of the raisins, and the sweetness of the butter. It really gives you a taste of Hokkaido.

Snack time at 3 o'clock. Enjoying it secretly by myself. The butter sandwich is famous here.
- Marusei Butter Cake (135 yen): The butter flavor is not too strong, making it easy to eat.
- Marusei Biscuit (50 yen): Just a regular butter cookie. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal♪♪

Somehow, the energy over there is so strong that it feels like Rokkatei is lacking in energy. But they probably don't really care about that. Maybe they have pretty good distribution over there, but Rokkatei feels like it's been a while. Even though I must have eaten this many times before, I hardly remember it and realized I should have been more careful with transportation after opening it. What a mess. When I opened it and saw the sweets peeking through the gap, I thought, "Oh, this is what it looks like." I'm worried about the calories because of the visual. The crust is crispy, but it melts so easily that it doesn't have a tactile sensation. The cream, raisins, and this unassuming crust blend together harmoniously and it's just so delicious. There are other sweets waiting to be eaten, so I'm thinking of stopping at half, but it's dangerous. It's disappearing fast.

I went to "Rokkatei AEON Sapporo Motomachi store" to buy a newly released product on July 5, 2022. I purchased the "Flower Necklace @180" baked confectionery, which is described as having a moist texture similar to Western confectionery. The product is made with ripe plum syrup from Fukui prefecture, known as "Golden Plum," soaked in brioche dough and filled with buttercream containing marron glace. Despite the online description suggesting serving with whipped cream, I ate it as is since I didn't have any at home. Unlike many syrup-soaked sweets made with liquor, this one contains very little or no alcohol, making it suitable for children as well. It had been a while since I last enjoyed Rokkatei's products, but I am sure I will be a customer again in the future. Thank you for the delicious treat!

This is Aeon Motomachi. I had two servings of curry and some yakitori. I felt like having something sweet, so I bought a cream puff from Rokkatei for dessert. I only bought one and enjoyed it at the food court. Surprisingly, there were quite a few middle-aged men at the night food court! Some were eating bento boxes too! It's actually quite convenient to eat at a place like this because you don't have to clean up afterwards. The cream puff from Rokkatei was a bit small but delicious. The pastry was moist and the cream was generous. It wasn't too sweet, making it easy for older people to enjoy. After resetting my palate, I thought about having something else, but decided to relax and have a coffee at Doutor before heading home. Thank you for the meal!

One weekend, after finishing work, I stopped by the well-known confectionery shop Rokkatei in Aeon Motomachi. The store is located on the left side as you enter from the first floor entrance, and although not very spacious, it displays and sells a selection of high-quality products. On this day, I chose some items from the menu that I probably haven't tried before. The "Crispy Karinto Gokuraku (160 yen)" was a small bite-sized snack with a refined sweetness of black honey typical of karinto, and surprisingly not too oily, which I really enjoyed. The "Hokkaido Road (125 yen)" had a Northman-like impression with a crispy pie crust filled with just the right amount of sweet red bean paste, and the buttery taste throughout elevated my excitement. The "Okagesama (130 yen)" had a light and crispy monaka shell with a nutty chocolate filling, which was unexpectedly Western but surprisingly matched well. Lastly, the "Marseille Butter Cake (125 yen)" had a moist buttery castella cake with a generous amount of caramel butter cream filling, making it quite impactful and possibly shortening my lifespan if I eat too much. Overall, the variety of classic and new offerings to meet customer needs at this confectionery shop is truly impressive. Thank you for the delicious treats.

This shop is located on the first floor of Aeon Motomachi near the subway Shinmichi Station. On this day, after eating clam ramen on the third floor, I passed by this shop and noticed a sign for hanami mochi. It looked very delicious. I looked around the store but couldn't find it, so I asked a staff member and they found one left at the end of the refrigerated case. I bought it and enjoyed it at home. It had three colors of mochi with red bean paste inside. As expected from Rokkatei, it was delicious. I would like to buy it again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Rokkatei for the first time in a while. Rokkatei is famous for its butter sand cookies. There are also various other products available. I may have never tried anything other than the butter sand cookies before. This time, I bought the "Marsei Butter Sand 4-piece set" and "Dorayaki". The butter sand cookies are a classic treat. They are always delicious whenever you eat them. I tend to eat as many as I have, so the 4-piece set is just right. The dorayaki has a fluffy texture and is delicious. I could eat as many of these as well. Since I always buy the same products, I would like to try different ones next time I come! Thank you for the meal!

This is a store located on the 1st floor of Ion Motomachi. For a snack that day, I had the Pudding a la Mode (250 yen) in the nearby food court area. The pudding at the bottom of the cup is firm and has a nice texture. The green layer is like a cross between yokan and mizu yokan, with a smooth mouthfeel. It's cheap and delicious, so I recommend it! I got the yogurt to go (200 yen). I'm actually not a big fan of smooth yogurt, but this one with a light acidity is really to my liking. It's a bit more expensive compared to plain yogurt from the supermarket, but I find myself buying it often because I crave it. I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal!

In November 2017, I visited Rokkatei inside the Aeon Sapporo Motomachi store. Rokkatei has various locations in Sapporo, and I have tried many of their products, but my favorite is definitely the Marseille Butter Sand. I love to freeze this product and enjoy it with a drink in the evening. I usually have white wine with it, and they go perfectly together. The raisin butter cream has soft raisins and a hint of brandy aroma. The crispy biscuit is also delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I went to Aeon Motomachi on New Year's Day. I did some shopping, had a meal at the food court, and bought a pudding a la mode (250 yen) for dessert. As always, it was cheap, delicious, and high quality. I also bought a dorayaki (140 yen) for a snack to take home, and to my surprise, I got another dorayaki as a New Year's bonus. Even though it's not something that will spoil quickly, it's nice to have two. I always love these kinds of bonuses. I must remember to use Rokkatei again next New Year's. I will definitely use it again soon. Thank you for the meal!

I went shopping at Ion mall and decided to stop by Rokkatei. When I entered the store, the staff didn't seem to notice me as they were busy with their tablet. I found a new product called "Marsei Butter Cake" which I wanted to try. I also bought my favorite Rokkatei snack, "Menkoi Daiheigen" in strawberry chocolate flavor. The staff seemed a bit low-energy, but I hope they're okay. The Marsei Butter Cake had a buttery sponge with a hint of chocolate ganache, which was a nice touch. The Strawberry Chocolate (Milk) snack had freeze-dried strawberries coated in milk chocolate, providing a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. The Menkoi Daiheigen in mini size was easy to eat and delicious. Overall, the sweets were tasty, but the staff's service was lacking.

I apologize for the delayed review, I am currently back in Sapporo for Silver Week. It seems that Silver Week won't be happening again until 2026. Anyway, I visited the local Aeon to buy offerings for my late mother-in-law's grave visit during the equinox. I noticed that the Aeon Motomachi store is under renovation. Oh no, they don't have Rokkatei (a popular confectionery brand) there! But luckily, Rokkatei and Morimoto were operating in temporary spaces behind partitions. However, there was a long line. Despite being known for their excellent customer service, Rokkatei seemed understaffed. Even though they are busy during the equinox, I believe they should have more staff to handle the workload. Morimoto had two staff members, which seemed more manageable. The Sapporo flagship store's "Hirobiro" confectionery is delicious! It's not just chocolate-coated pie, it has a unique texture. Personally, I love "Choco Marron" as well. Even though I usually don't like sweet potatoes or chestnuts, these treats are an exception. In any case, I recommend increasing the staff to improve service.

The snack shop is open for pick-up on Saturday afternoons. There are always several groups of people lined up to pay. The shop is a physical store that only accepts reservations for pick-up on specified dates. The price is only 500 yen, which is a great deal. The content changes every month, and this month they have a special Valentine's Day chocolate cake set. The cakes are rich and delicious, including roll cakes, mousse cakes, and chocolate cakes. You can get 4 pieces for 500 yen, which is a great value. This is why I can't stop going to the snack shop. I highly recommend this place, but popular months sell out quickly, so make your reservation early.

When I visited the AEON Sapporo Motomachi store in July 2014, I stopped by Rokkatei. Rokkatei was established in 1933, originally as a branch of Sapporo Chishuan split from Obihiro Chishuan. It has now become one of the representative confectionery stores in Hokkaido. It is a popular store that is almost always present in Sapporo department stores and large supermarkets. Currently, there are more stores in the Sapporo area than in the Obihiro region. Therefore, they are planning to build the Sapporo main store building in the Sapporo Station area for 2.2 billion yen. It is scheduled to open on July 15, 2015, and will be a 10-story building with galleries and a chamber music hall. I am looking forward to the opening. The store is located in the AEON Sapporo Motomachi Shopping Center on the first floor. For the exact location of the store, please check on Tabelog. Rokkatei has many popular products. I bought several items:
- Marseille Butter Sand: A representative confectionery of Rokkatei. Soft biscuits with butter cream, raisins, and white chocolate. The collaboration is excellent, and the packaging gives a sense of pioneering Obihiro. Price: 115 yen (including 8% consumption tax)
- Frosting Base: A crispy chocolate pie with sugar around it. Inside is a smooth mocha white chocolate cream sandwich. The texture is smooth and melts easily, similar to the sound of stepping on the ground after the first frost. It represents the four seasons of cold climates in Obihiro. Price: 115 yen (including 8% consumption tax)
- Mizugoyomi: Water yokan made with Erimo adzuki beans from Tokachi. A summer product with a refreshing taste and smooth texture. The size and price are reasonable. Price: 125 yen (including 8% consumption tax)
- Seafoam Cake (Caramel): A new product of seafoam cake with fluffy sponge and plenty of cream. The cream has been increased by 80% for a good melting texture. The caramel flavor is also good. Price: 110 yen (including 8% consumption tax)
- Imo Kenpi: Made with domestic golden treasure sweet potatoes. It has a delicious taste. Perhaps it's a seasonal item? Price: 160 yen (including 8% consumption tax)
Rokkatei offers reliable and consistent flavors. It's a characteristic that there are no disappointments. The service level is also stable in all stores. It's easy to use as a souvenir. I can't wait for the opening of the Sapporo main store next year. I wonder what I should try next time, as there are many popular items and it's hard to choose. (laughs) Thank you for the delicious meal.

During a trip back to Sapporo, I visited Rokkatei at Aeon Sapporo Motomachi store. It's convenient that they are open during Aeon's hours, and it's nice that you can buy some sweets individually. They have a new item called "The Road I Once Took." It's a lemon chocolate cream sandwiched between crispy pie crust with fragrant quince jelly and acacia honey. Perfect for summer. Be careful when carrying the crispy pie, it's better to choose the boxed option. I enjoyed it with iced coffee, but it would be perfect with tea.

When shopping at Ion, I'm happy because there are shops like Rokkatei and Morimoto where I can buy some snacks. Today, I saw a TV commercial featuring someone eating caramel, so I stopped by to check it out. I found the caramel I was looking for! Each bag contains 3 pieces of caramel, and it seems to also contain soybeans. The taste is... just average, I guess. I prefer my caramel to be just caramel, without the beans. I was unsure whether to let it melt in my mouth or chew it. I also bought a new product called "This Road is a Road I've Taken Before." The name is a bit long and hard to remember. The taste is similar to "Frosting" with a cream inside that is said to contain honey. It also had finely chopped pieces of quince fruit jelly. I also bought my favorites, Daiheigen and Hyakusai.

Intense battle for Rokkatei lucky bags... I was able to buy one for the first time! Happy!! I could buy two bags per person, so of course I bought two (laughs)
- Uuntokosee Dokkoi
Soft dough filled with green pea paste. I love this dough!
- Chocolate sweets assortment
Sweets with the zodiac sign of the dog, including strawberry crunch, walnut cookies, and matcha langues de chat. All of them were delicious.
- Okagesama
A mochi with hazelnuts and chocolate gianduja. I had never tried this before and it reminded me of a snack I used to eat as a child. I loved it!
- Manju
A steamed bun with a mixture of white bean paste and sweet potato paste. It was even more delicious when warmed up.
- Nanmonanmo
Cheese senbei, perfect with wine!
- Marsei Biscuit
A butter sandwich biscuit with an extra crispy texture. I was addicted to this when it was released. I love it!
Apart from the above snacks, the lucky bag also includes a crispy waffle (with a drink) or a concert ticket exchange voucher, and a trial ticket for the snack shop. The snack shop offers monthly changing snacks for reservation. Even just the trial ticket for the lucky bag is worth 600 yen, so it's a nice bonus. I'm not really a fan of reservations, but I'll give it a try this time. The products change every month, so I'm not sure when to exchange the voucher. For now, I'll skip January (laughs). The concert ticket is worth around 4000 yen, which might be good for classical music lovers, but I'll definitely exchange it for the crispy waffle (with a drink) (laughs). In addition, I received a long-winded snack with a description of Matsushita Nishishiro for investigation (laughs). It was a strawberry chocolate-covered pie snack. It was delicious. Definitely a great deal... or rather, a very advantageous lucky bag! I hope I can buy it again next year.
