Nakazen is a popular place, so it's often hard to get in on weekends. Luckily, we were able to get a table this time. My husband loves Nakazen, so he always wants to have beer here. Since it's a seafood izakaya, the sashimi is definitely recommended.
★ Today's Sashimi Platter - 1580 yen
Served in a beautiful staircase arrangement with wasabi, it not only looks great but tastes delicious too!
★ Nakazen's Special Zantare - 690 yen
The sweet and sour sauce on this zantare is a must-try, in addition to their delicious zangi.
★ Deep-Fried Mozzarella Cheese - 690 yen
Instead of deep-fried tofu, they serve deep-fried mozzarella cheese! It's a unique dish that goes well with the hot cheese and Japanese-style dashi.
★ Salt Ramen Salad - 490 yen
A ramen salad loved by Hokkaido people. It's a delicious way to get your veggies in. Everything we tried at this izakaya was delicious. Highly recommended for sashimi lovers! Thank you for the meal.

On Saturday, May 7, 2022, I visited this restaurant for the first time in five months since last year. I made a reservation the day before by phone. The staircase dish with fresh oysters, homemade whale bacon, pickled plums, and more were all delicious. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of everything except the first dish. This place really shines with its seafood dishes. The all-you-can-drink time came to an end, and I wanted to stay a bit longer, but I couldn't extend it, maybe due to COVID rules. I hope things go back to normal soon. The pickled mackerel at the end was delicious. Thank you for the meal! (^_^)

It's hard to believe that 2021 is almost over. This time, three of us visited this restaurant, which is run by a fishmonger and specializes in seafood dishes. Everything we tried was delicious, with a focus on fresh ingredients. We were disappointed that we could only order one serving of oysters because we arrived late, but they were incredibly tasty. We would love to visit this restaurant again if we have the chance.

During the consecutive holidays, I entered the restaurant around 8:00 PM on a weekday. I ordered a glass of oolong tea (excluding tax 250 yen), a plate of mountain wasabi soba (excluding tax 780 yen), and purple sweet potato sesame dumplings (excluding tax 390 yen). The oolong tea arrived promptly with an appetizer (excluding tax 300 yen). The soba and dumplings arrived in about 10 minutes. I paid by credit card. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On December 4, 2020 (Fri), the formula displayed the old store name "Gekkai-an," but I remember a time before that when it was just "Gekkai" without the "an" attached. I think I visited the same place back then... My memory is a bit fuzzy. I visited with two acquaintances without a reservation, just walked in. The menu featured seafood, soba, and mountain wasabi, which was highly recommended. We started with some beer and baby scallops as an appetizer, which were sweet and salty, really delicious. The sashimi was served in a unique staircase arrangement, visually appealing and fresh. The wasabi was generously piled on, giving that sharp kick. In this season, if there's real swordfish available, I just have to order it... it's so tender and tasty. I also love the ankimo... even though my uric acid levels are a bit high from recent health check-ups. I was initially thinking of finishing with soba, but I was too full to do so. We sat in a small raised area near the entrance, and since there is regular full ventilation at the entrance, it's recommended to wear warm clothing near there. Proper indoor ventilation is important. The staff were friendly, and we had a pleasant dining experience. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal! (^_^)

Tomakomai here^_^ I randomly chose a restaurant and strolled through the drinking district. I was looking for a place to enter based on the menu that caught my eye. Oh! They have Pork Chop❗️ and Tomato Chop‼️ I've made my decision here. There are various interesting menus here. Let's start with a toast with beer^_^ I ordered Baribari potato and soft-boiled egg Caesar salad, spicy deep-fried angel shrimp skewers, stone oven-baked crab meat omelet, super thick! Pork Tomakomai Chop, half-price oyster and crab tempura, Iberico pork pepper pasta, Tulip Zangi, grilled smelt, and finally, Catalana for the finish❗️ Overall, the quality is high, with creative dishes and no misses. The staff are energetic and efficient, I feel like I want to bring a group here next time. I found a great izakaya in Tomakomai. I'll definitely come back again. Thank you for the meal( ´∀`)

Unlike when I was younger, I no longer drink alcohol and eat a lot of food together. Now, I order a few sashimi dishes as appetizers, and then have 3-4 beers along with some sake that pairs well with the food. However, once the alcohol kicks in, I tend to go overboard and end up drinking endless amounts of sake, resulting in a surprisingly high bill despite not eating much. That's why I was thrilled to find a restaurant that offers a 120-minute all-you-can-drink deal for 1800 yen. I immediately ordered it, thinking "I can make up for the cost with 4 beers." I used the appetizers as my main dishes, ordering 4 beers in a row and then the recommended sashimi dishes of the day, monkfish liver, raw oysters, and deep-fried scallops. It turned into a warm sake festival. I wonder why seafood and sake go so well together. The sake from Hokkaido... I forgot the name, but it was pretty good for an all-you-can-drink option. Even though it's not really the season for it, the oysters were delicious, and the sashimi was great too. In Hokkaido's port towns, it's hard to find a place with bad seafood, they're all pretty consistent. We went as a group of two, and the bill came out to around 3700 yen per person. Thank you for the meal.

Premium Malt's ¥473, Fuzzy Navel ¥504, Otoshi (appetizer) ¥315 x2, Morning-Caught Squid Sashimi ¥294, Seasonal Pacific Saury Sashimi ¥504, Snow Crab (adult portion) ¥924, Octopus Tempura ¥504, Kuro Kirishima (shochu) ¥504 x2, Hairy Crab Tomato Pasta ¥819, Chewy Pumpkin Mochi ¥609. I had these dishes at an izakaya in Tomakomai. I didn't do any prior research and just wandered around looking for a place to drink at night, and stumbled upon this place. It turned out to be quite good. They had a good selection of fish dishes and the prices were reasonable. Especially on this day, the squid was a great deal. The morning-caught squid sashimi was only ¥280, and it was a very generous portion. You can really taste how delicious Hokkaido squid is. The tofu appetizer had a dollop of chili oil on top, and the tofu itself was quite firm. The octopus tempura is a must-have in Hokkaido. The difference between tempura and zangi isn't clear, but in my opinion, zangi is a more heavily seasoned version of tempura. The octopus tempura here was seasoned perfectly to go with alcohol. The seasonal Pacific saury sashimi was also impressive. The fish was served with its skeleton intact, showcasing the freshness of the meat. It really lets you taste the freshness of the fish. The Snow Crab (adult portion) was loaded with crab meat in a glass. Getting this much crab at this price is a Hokkaido specialty. The Hairy Crab Tomato Pasta was my first time trying hairy crab, and it's not the easiest to eat as is, so putting it in pasta was a good idea. The pasta itself had a tangy tomato sauce with a hint of basil. The Chewy Pumpkin Mochi had a strong pumpkin flavor. Overall, the dishes had a wide range of flavors, but the fish dishes were all on point. It's a great value izakaya.

I attended my first junior high school reunion at a restaurant located on Tomakomai Ichijo Street. The place was easy to find, with a stylish and warm atmosphere welcoming me as jazz music played in the background. The menu offered a variety of creative dishes from Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisines, along with a wide selection of drinks. I was impressed by the tempting menu items and ended up trying the luxurious snow crab feast, which was amazing considering its volume and price of less than 1000 yen. It's a great izakaya to visit!
