I have been coming to Sapporo for over 10 years, and whenever I visit, I always make sure to stop by Menme. It's a must-visit restaurant for me. I usually have their steamed crab, and this time it was a big one priced at 15,000 yen. After eating, they make a delicious rice porridge with the leftovers. They also serve sashimi, island pickles, white udo, buttered potatoes, and five-colored natto. The saury wasn't very big, but it was incredibly flavorful! The smelt was large and also amazing. The daily recommendations are listed on a blackboard, so it's a good idea to order while looking at that. The mozuku vinegar was also very tasty, and it was made with Hokkaido ingredients. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I went to a restaurant called Menme in a back alley of Tanukikoji. As the name suggests, this place specializes in robatayaki. In the past, I noticed that the prices for fish and other items were quite high. I was a bit hesitant, so I started with some vegetables and snacks. But since I had come all this way, I decided to go for the Menme dish! It cost 12,000 yen for one fish! Watching it being grilled, my desire to eat it grew stronger. After that, many more orders were placed. It was truly impressive! When the grilled fish was served to our table, they told us to leave the head part so they could make miso soup out of it at the end. It was delicious! They grilled the head part again for us, and it added a nice aroma. Overall, this restaurant was more about grilled dishes than raw ones, and it was delicious.

A robatayaki restaurant where you can enjoy seasonal ingredients at the counter. I've been coming here for about 15 years, thanks to a local recommendation. This time, I visited after a long time due to COVID, and it was amazing! The atmosphere and taste are excellent. Everything I tried was delicious. I forgot to order the 5-color natto, though. I'll be back again next month. I highly recommend sitting at the counter. The dishes I definitely want to eat here are the steamed sake with mentaiko, corn with butter, and yam udo.

It's been a while since my last visit, this time at the counter. As always, the place was bustling and lively. I enjoyed the delicious local ingredients as well as regional ones. It would be even better if there were a few more dishes. I look forward to dining at the counter next time.

I finally visited after several years since my last visit. I was a bit worried that it might be crowded and we wouldn't get a table, but we were seated at a table in the back. We enjoyed Tochio's fried horse mackerel, hige garlic, and hokke sashimi with premium classic sake. The hokke sashimi was a generous size and delicious. The hige garlic had a nice texture and the fried horse mackerel was juicy and tasty with just grated ginger. The fish and vegetables were all delicious, and the atmosphere with Showa era songs playing made it a great dining experience. I will definitely visit again!

Recommended by locals, we visited a traditional robatayaki restaurant where reservations are a must. The grilled KinKi (fish) cooked over charcoal was exquisite, and all the other dishes were delicious as well. It was a wonderful evening of drinking and dining. They also had a variety of sake to choose from, ensuring an enjoyable experience. We will definitely be returning.

It's full of potential! Located in a back alley of Tanukikoji Street! The interior is clean, lively, with seasonal dishes that are delicious! This time, I went with someone on their last day working in Sapporo, and we ordered the KinKi along with young corn and asparagus, which were all delicious with high-quality ingredients! The KinKi had a rich flavor with well-marbled fat! Finishing with the head in soup was also fantastic! While they didn't have grilled onigiri, the restaurant had a down-to-earth atmosphere with an elegant touch.

The sake-steamed clams were delicious with big, sweet clams. I tried the sautéed alfonsino for the first time and it became my favorite dish! I've had grilled and simmered dishes, as well as sashimi and shabu-shabu, but the sake-steamed dish is the best! I usually have trouble getting into this restaurant, but today I got in easily - I feel so lucky!

The noodles at this restaurant are absolutely delicious! The porridge at the end of the meal is also very gentle and satisfying ❤️ A must-try is the salt rice ball priced at 800 yen, it is definitely worth trying! And I was also very satisfied to finally try the "gokko" that I've always wanted to eat!

February 23rd, 4.6 Rote "Meme". I think this is a good restaurant even for customers from outside the area! Sitting at the counter is the best. It used to be noisy in the past, but the taste is exceptional. You can order the ingredients lined up in front of you, so customers will be happy! However, the prices are quite high. The "Meme" = grilled king crab was around 12,000 yen, but it's delicious! The chef is also nice, making you want to go back again! Reservation is a must!

Today, I brought a guest from Kyoto to the restaurant on short notice. It was nice to see them again after a long time, and I'm happy they could visit consecutively. We started at 10 PM, so there were no other customers and we had the place to ourselves. We ordered various dishes like steamed hairy crab on the grill, which was so sweet, and thick and delicious shishamo fish. The surf clam was sweet and firm, and the boiled noodles with mekabu seaweed were amazing. The guest was impressed. Thank you, chef! 🍣

Today I visited the restaurant for a friend's birthday celebration after quite a long time. It may not have been two years, but it was a significant gap. We were treated to a complimentary sashimi dish, and various other dishes were served as well. Everything I ordered was delicious. Since it's a robatayaki restaurant, it was expected that the food would be great. I can't remember how much sake I drank, my memory gets fuzzy from the second bar onwards. I'll definitely be back soon!

A long-established robatayaki restaurant on Tanuki Koji. At the counter, fresh seafood and vegetables for the day are displayed, whetting your appetite. I ordered the buttered scallop with potatoes, fried Tono tofu, beef, and corn. The butter is placed on a large, fluffy potato, with salted squid on the side. The scallop is incredibly fresh, easy to eat, and well-cooked with a nice sear. The Tono tofu is crispy on the outside and hot on the inside, with a strong tofu flavor. The beef, said to be from Hokkaido, has a good marbling and high-quality taste. It is served with mountain wasabi, which complements the flavor well. The corn is incredibly sweet and delicious, with a toasted, street food-like taste. Overall, the restaurant pays great attention to the quality of ingredients and adds just the right amount of effort. The atmosphere is calm, but a bit more lively would be nice.

On the second night of my trip to Hokkaido, I decided to revisit a restaurant that my friend had recommended to me a few years ago. It was closed the previous day when we tried to go together, so I went alone this time. The restaurant specializes in charcoal-grilled dishes and sashimi. I sat at the counter, the only customer at that time, and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. I started with a refreshing glass of draft beer and ordered some appetizers - fresh oysters, scallop sashimi, and grilled asparagus with potatoes. The oysters were huge and delicious, the scallop sashimi was fresh and beautifully presented, and the grilled asparagus with potatoes was simple yet flavorful. I paired the dishes with some sake and enjoyed the combination of flavors. The highlight for me was the delicious salted potatoes, which I couldn't get enough of. Overall, I had a satisfying dining experience and paid around 5000 yen for everything. I will definitely come back to enjoy the flavors of Hokkaido again. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is a restaurant that my seniors in Sapporo took me to, located a 6-minute walk from Odori Station on the Tozai Line and 151 meters from Shiseikan Elementary School Station. The place is a bit hard to find. Inside the restaurant, there is a counter and tables in the back. The name of the restaurant, "Menme," seems to refer to goldeneye snapper. I tried goldeneye snapper sashimi with its liver soy sauce for the first time, and it was delicious with its rich flavor. Unfortunately, they ran out of goldeneye snapper, so I couldn't try the steamed version. However, all the other dishes we ordered were also delicious. It's been a while since I've been to a restaurant where everything I ate was so tasty, from appetizers to the final dish. We ordered live hairy crab, which was boiled at the table, and it was the most delicious hairy crab I've ever had. The only downside was that one of the staff members had no hospitality skills, spoke quietly, and had a rude attitude towards customers. But because the food is so good, I will definitely go back.

On the first day in Sapporo, we had dinner at "Menme" restaurant. It is located right near our usual hotel, inside the Tanukikoji Market. We were a group of four this time, so we sat at a spacious table in the back. We started with a toast and then asked the staff to choose three types of Hokkaido sake for us. For food, we had to try the "KinKi no Sake-ni" (simmered KinKi fish). Unfortunately, the Hockey was already sold out, so we had "Tsubodai no Yaki" (grilled Tsubodai), "Shishamo" (smelt fish), "Yariika sashimi" (fresh squid sashimi), "Engawa sashimi" (flounder fin sashimi), "Hotate-yaki" (grilled scallops), "Nasu-yaki" (grilled eggplant), and "Jagaimo" (grilled potatoes). The KinKi fish was delicious with a homemade sauce, and we finished with a tasty zosui (rice porridge). The grilled scallops zosui was a standout dish, with a rich broth and buttery flavor that paired well with the sake. Although we missed out on the Hockey, every dish was delicious and we didn't have any disappointments.

I saw this restaurant on TV and it caught my attention. It is located inside the Tanukikoji Market in Sapporo. The atmosphere of the market is quite charming. There are about 10 shops lined up, each with a name that makes you want to visit. On this day, I chose to visit "Menme," a charcoal-grilled restaurant. The interior is lovely, with only an L-shaped counter. From the counter, you can see the charcoal grill and in front of you are the fresh ingredients of the day. The pickled shallots were crunchy and spicy, perfect with miso. The deep-fried garlic beard was surprisingly delicious, with a crispy texture and a nutty flavor. The grilled shiitake mushroom was thick and juicy, bursting with flavor. The black soybeans were large and flavorful, lightly seasoned with salt. The male smelt fish was incredibly tender and a perfect pairing with sake. The giant rolled omelette was filled with green onions and dried shrimp, a burst of umami in every bite. The Menme sashimi, made from golden eye snapper, was fatty and melted in the mouth. Each dish was delicious and perfect for pairing with alcohol. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.

I visited this restaurant for the first time in February after seeing it on a TV show featuring Yo Oizumi. This time, I visited again as soon as the emergency situation was lifted. The KinKi's simmered fish is incredibly delicious! It's tender and melts in your mouth with a rich flavor. We enjoyed sashimi, grilled fish, and sake before the simmered dish was ready. Finally, we made porridge with the remaining broth from the simmered dish, which was also delicious. We had two beers each and about three glasses of sake each, spending around 25,000 yen for the two of us. It's a bit of a luxurious restaurant for us, but sometimes we feel like treating ourselves to KinKi's simmered fish!

The food is delicious. It's a small shop with a counter, so I thought the portions might be small, but each dish is actually quite large. Some items on the menu don't have prices listed, but the portions are generous. Regardless of whether there are 4 people or just 1 person dining, the same amount of food is served. If a restaurant doesn't list prices on the menu, I think it would be nice if they automatically adjust the portion sizes and prices. Any leftovers can be given to customers who are okay with that. Overall, the food is really good.
