We used this shop for our second party. The owner seems to have a background in Western cuisine and can make anything. The owner is friendly. The appetizers were all delicious and the menu had a mix of Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes. As it was our second stop, we ordered the pasta of the day as a finale. They made Arrabiata for us. I could feel the skill in leaving some chunks of tomatoes. Next time, I will go try their famous Sapporo ramen. Thank you for the meal.

I started with a tomato highball and ended with bear hot pot and grilled bear meat skewers. It was my first time trying bear meat, and it was unlike any other meat I've had before. Bear meat is known for being fatty, and I usually prefer lean meat, but I found that enjoying the fat in this dish was a must. While I usually ask for the oil to be drained when I eat grilled meat, I highly recommend having the bear meat in a hot pot.

The small shop has 8 seats so it fills up quickly. The "quick drink set" for 700 yen includes a drink under 500 yen and a small dish, with 3 varieties served. The experienced owner offers a wide range of carefully crafted menu items.

I visited a restaurant in Hakobiva where you can have lunch and drink. I was intrigued by the curry, so I decided to try it. I ordered the pork cutlet curry, which seemed like it wouldn't be too filling. The curry had a unique blend of spices and was quite tasty, but I found the pork cutlet to be fried too crispy.

Hakodate Station Yokocho Hako Biba in July 2022. Currently, the izakaya "San" is open irregular hours. You can enjoy day drinking, but it is unclear if they are open at night. It's a quick walk to JR station, about 50 minutes. The interior of the restaurant is unexpectedly small, with only a counter. They offer a "light drinking set" which includes one drink and one dish for only 600 yen, a surprisingly low price. The beer is very refreshing. The set came with three dishes instead of the expected one, which was a pleasant surprise. The dishes were home-cooked style, including pickled cucumbers, kinpira, and wood ear mushrooms with eggs. There are other set options available, making it a great place to drink affordably. Thank you for the meal.

◆Hakodate Sazuke Sakaba (Casual Drinking Set)◆
Before heading back to the hotel, do you ever think, "I just want one more drink. Just one drink is fine. My stomach is full and I just need a light snack"? Even if you think that way, do you usually end up having more than one drink? Or do you just buy a can of beer and a snack from the convenience store and call it a night? Well, I have good news for you! Located next to Hakodate Station is "Hakobiba," and one of the establishments there is Sazuke Sakaba. The Casual Drinking Set costs ¥600 (1 drink + 1 food item). This is perfect for those who just want one drink before heading home. The cozy interior of the place is inviting. I asked, "Excuse me, is it okay if I just order the Casual Drinking Set?" before entering. And voilà! The content exceeded my expectations. The staff were also very friendly. I will definitely be returning (since it's such a comfortable place, I think I'll make it my main spot next time).

Today's walk was in Hakodate. Starting from Yunokawa Onsen, I took a look at the nearby yet distant Hakodate Racecourse, enjoyed a beer in the Bay Area, and was defeated by couples and families at the Goto-ken curry buffet. Winners who thoroughly clear their plates can become happy couples, right? Let's take another short break in front of Hakodate Station. I'll take a seat at the counter of "Hakodate Chazuke Sakaba." I'll have a draft beer, Suntory's Premium Malt. It's a delicious beer. It's a nice set for a light drink, one drink and one plate for 600 yen. It's a great service for those taking a break during the day. Cold tofu, pickles, and spaghetti salad. Just enough to nibble on. Since additional drinks are discounted. I'll have a lemon sour. A lemon sour from a specialty bar. It's from Suntory. I enjoyed the not-too-sweet, dry lemon sour. I was grateful to be able to drink during the day. I had a brief chat with the owner. It became a memory of my journey. Thank you for the meal! "Hakodate Chazuke Sakaba" Hakodate, Hokkaido, Wakamatsu-cho 12-8 Hakobiba 9:00-20:00

On a business trip night, I stumbled upon a quiet facility near the station! Had a chance encounter! Despite the silent presence of COVID-19, the chef's lively storytelling, reasonable pricing for locals in Hakodate, delicious seafood, and the perfect balance of salt in the salt ramen were all delightful. I would definitely recommend this place for families looking to go on a trip for the purpose of dining out. A full hairy crab, large scallops, cherry salmon sashimi, salt ramen, rolled omelette, 2 beers, and a tomato sour for about ¥4000? It was divine.

I found a new dining area near the station and decided to try it out. I ordered the "light drinking set" (500 yen) which included a draft beer and complimentary rice crackers. The owner started cooking scallops in two different ovens, which looked promising. When I mentioned I was considering the "tipsy set", the owner recommended trying the "abalone and sea cucumber" as they are rarely eaten. I decided to give it a try. The scallops were plump and delicious, full of sweetness and flavor. Then, the owner brought out thinly sliced sea cucumber sashimi, which was incredibly tender and had a hint of the sea. Next, I tried the abalone, which was also very tender and flavorful. As I enjoyed the meal, I asked about the different knife the owner was using, which turned out to be a Western-style knife for meat. The owner also showed me pictures of themselves in chef attire and with famous chefs. It was a unique dining experience that I thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, there was a discount on draft beer if you ordered more. Thank you for the meal!

One-coin lunch at Hakodate Station! Enjoy dishes like simmered scallops, raw octopus, and spaghetti in a cozy atmosphere. The chef takes pride in his dishes and offers a variety of options like curry and udon. The miso soup is delicious too! Perfectly balanced lunches near Hakodate Station. You can also enjoy daytime drinking with reasonably priced sets and knowledgeable staff who will show you how to enjoy your drinks.
