Iran Calappe. ---------- 2023.01 ----------It's become a super popular spot now, but it was quiet early on. First up, "Biya" (= ´∀´)ノ凵゛. They had three types of "yellow bowls" available: normal, light, and green. There's also a new flavor called "yellow green curry" that I definitely want to try. And don't forget the wonton skins - they're a must! The normal base with Thai spices and a smooth aftertaste is great. I like the normal version too, but this one is a nice change-up.

Miso ramen flavor: good Atmosphere: good Cost performance: average I joined the waiting line about 10 minutes before the opening, with 8 people ahead of me. I thought I might be in the second batch, but luckily I made it into the first. The soup had a refreshing flavor with grated ginger. The thick curly noodles paired well with the soup! The yellow bowl my companion was eating (miso-based) looked really delicious too! I also noticed the green-yellow one (green curry style) which seemed interesting. Thank you for the meal!

I had miso ramen. It had been a while since I last visited. The first picture was taken when it was served, and I cleaned up the grated ginger for the photo. The appearance also affects your appetite, right? The chashu had a nostalgic taste. The menma ingredient was bamboo shoots, not menma, but it was delicious.

I ordered miso ramen (900 yen), fried rice (500 yen), and smoked egg topping (+150 yen), totaling 1,550 yen. I visited the restaurant at 2 AM on a weekday and since there were no other customers, I asked the staff for a recommendation. They responded that they don't have such a thing. So, I decided to go with miso ramen with smoked egg topping and fried rice. I was a bit drunk, so I don't remember much, but the miso ramen had a light and lacking depth in flavor. The fried rice was individually cooked and had a crispy aroma, but the flavor was also on the light side. I thought 500 yen was expensive for it. The smoked egg had a unique flavor, which was good. I felt unsatisfied, so I ended up going to another ramen shop for a second meal. I should have told myself not to have a second meal at 2 AM (laughs). Later, I saw other reviews recommending the curry ramen. Darn it, I'll try the curry ramen next time. Thank you for the meal.

Around 4 o'clock in the morning, I felt like having a late-night ramen. I couldn't find any open shops due to the Obon holiday, but luckily a kind person from Sapporo guided me to a place. The light salt ramen was perfect for a late-night meal and delicious! They also have unique options like cold curry ramen.

Cold yellow, in simple terms, it's like a cold version of yellow, but surprisingly spicy. Even though it's a cold soup, it's incredibly spicy. It uses the same noodles as hot noodles, but the texture is completely different, almost making you wonder if they use different noodles for cold noodles! Personally, I think that cold noodles don't have the same sesame flavor, so I was impressed by the quality of this dish. As expected, their curry ramen is top quality, it's a fantastic restaurant! The taste leaves you wanting to eat another bowl right after finishing. It was amazing!

It's been a while since I visited Susukino. I met many friends, ate and drank a lot, and for the first time, I tried the ramen as a finishing touch. I ordered miso ramen. It was a portion that even a woman could easily eat, with a moist soup that was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Yellow Sara Sara (Chicken broth base) - I have tried the miso base and green curry style before, but I had not tried the chicken broth base yet, so I ordered it without hesitation! Suzuran's ramen never disappoints, but personally, I think this Sara Sara is my favorite. It starts off with a refreshing and spicy curry flavor with a hint of chicken broth, and as you mix in the paste halfway through, it transforms into a rich curry flavor. It's different from the strong curry flavor of Tonnotora's curry ramen, and I like the straightforward curry ramen here. The finely chopped toppings like green onions and chashu blend perfectly with the noodles and soup, creating an exquisite harmony. I am a full-fledged Suzuran fan now, yes!

I happened to stop by after finishing my drink! [Order] - Chicken broth shio ramen 900 yen [Impression] I have been living near Susukino for almost 10 years, but for some reason, I had never visited this place before, so it was my first time. After drinking with a friend, we decided to come here because she wanted to eat ramen, and surprisingly, there were only a few people waiting inside the restaurant. While waiting in line, I was prompted by the staff to purchase a meal ticket, and I ended up ordering the regular shio ramen instead of the curry ramen that I was curious about. After waiting in the bustling restaurant for about 15 minutes, I was seated and my ramen arrived in about 5 minutes. The shio ramen had a light and gentle chicken broth, not a clear soup but a clear broth. It was not too salty, with a good balance of saltiness and the rich flavor of chicken that lingers after each sip. The noodles were slightly thin and curly, cooked to a soft texture, with a strong wheat flavor that complemented the soup. The menma (bamboo shoots) was different from the usual, with a crunchy texture and a delicious taste. The thinly sliced chashu was just right, adding a nice touch to the salty soup. Lastly, I took a bite of the yellow bowl of curry ramen (miso-based) that my friend ordered, and it was incredibly delicious! It had the perfect amount of spiciness and was light yet flavorful. I decided to come back next time to enjoy the curry ramen. Thank you for the meal. A few days later, I visited the restaurant alone around 4 am. I was the only one in line, but the place was full, so I had to wait. Of course, I wanted to order the curry ramen, but unfortunately, it was already sold out. At the fourth stop, I had spicy miso ramen in a large portion for around 950 yen. There were about 5 people waiting. It was past 11 PM. A duo who arrived later were treated by a person from Hiroshima, and they enjoyed chatting. At this restaurant, you buy a food ticket first and then wait for your turn. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. It can't be helped that there are only two people working. The taste was, well, Niigata's miso ramen is tastier. The two people I went with seemed satisfied. Maybe I should have just ordered a regular miso ramen. There was a lot of grated ginger on top.

Thanks to the Genghis Khan I had for dinner, I returned to the hotel feeling full. After taking a shower and lying down on the bed, I fell asleep without realizing it. When I woke up, it was almost 10 p.m. In a daze, I thought, "I have to eat miso ramen." The determination for food is truly amazing. To enjoy the Sapporo specialty of miso ramen, I headed out into the night leaving my wife behind. The first place I tried was "Isokazu," with a Foodlog rating of 3.72 (as of July 17, 2023). Despite opening at 10 p.m., there was a long line outside the small shop with only 7 counter seats. The rowdy drunks in front of the shop also made me give up on waiting and move on to another place. That's when I found "Menya Suzuran." Fortunately, the line wasn't too long, and I ended up waiting for about 30 minutes before getting in. I had read in advance that the yellow button on the top right of the ticket machine was recommended. It was for a spicy curry ramen with a choice of miso base or chicken broth base. Being in Sapporo, I naturally chose the miso base and added the limited smoked egg topping. After about 10 minutes of waiting, the ramen arrived. In a yellow bowl, there was a soup that resembled both curry and miso, topped with green onions, sliced cabbage, corn, menma, and a halved smoked egg. I picked up the noodles with my chopsticks. The Sapporo miso ramen image was perfectly captured in the medium-thick curly noodles. They were slightly firm. The perfect combination of the al dente noodles, spicy curry, and a hint of miso flavor in the aftertaste. As I continued eating, I encountered a red mysterious paste. What is this? It tasted similar to spaghetti meat sauce. I couldn't figure out what it was, but it added a great accent. Despite having just eaten a lot of lamb, the noodles and soup were so captivating. It was a taste that became addictive. I wanted to have some rice with the soup, but there was no room left. Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy both the Sapporo specialty miso ramen and soup curry at the same time. After finishing the meal, I thought that this ramen is best suited for below freezing temperatures in the dead of winter. After leaving the restaurant, sweating profusely, I returned to the hotel. The ticket machine was broken so I had to order verbally. I got the yellow curry with half rice. It was like a soup curry ramen, not too strong in miso flavor. The noodles were thick and chewy, holding up well in the curry soup. The restaurant is run by just one person, so there might be a line outside, but once inside, the service is quick at the counter.

I met up with a friend after ending the first round of our workplace drinking party and went to a certain restaurant around 9:30 pm. We had a couple of drinks for about 2 hours and decided to call it a night since we both had work the next day. On our way back to our accommodations before midnight, we passed by a restaurant called Suzuran. We were lucky to find only one person waiting in line, so we were able to get in within 5 minutes. I ordered the "Green Yellow" curry ramen, which is a green curry flavored ramen. It was my first time trying this type of ramen. The bowl arrived in about 10 minutes, filled with cabbage, green onions, small pieces of pork, bamboo shoots, and another ingredient that I couldn't identify (a reddish one at 2 o'clock in the photo). The curry soup was delicious, not too spicy or heavy. The noodles were slightly firm, and the cabbage and pork were cut in a way that complemented the dish well. It was a satisfying bowl of ramen that paired nicely with the drinks I had earlier. I ended up finishing every last drop of the soup. It might have been a spontaneous decision, but having ramen as a late-night meal was a great way to end the night. It seems like I forgot the original reason for coming to the city in the first place...

After drinking in Susukino, the perfect way to finish the night is here. I arrived after 11 PM and waited in line for about ten minutes before being seated. I usually go for curry ramen, but this time I went back to basics and chose miso ramen. While chatting with the owner in a tipsy state, the ramen arrived. The balance between the noodles and the soup was perfect, making it the best miso ramen. The flavor was a bit strong, but maybe that's what makes it perfect for a late-night meal. I enjoyed changing the taste with ginger before finishing the broth, feeling a bit guilty, and then walked to the next station to head home.

I climbed up the ladder from Isokazu to try their miso ramen just before closing time. It was my first time trying miso ramen and it was refreshing and delicious. Although their curry dishes are amazing, the miso ramen was also really good. Every dish I've tried here has been delicious, there are no bad choices. Since I was the last customer, I had a great time chatting with the owner about music (HM/HR). It was a lot of fun! \m/\m/

6th time I went to a ramen shop that I don't quite get along with. Not that it's not delicious (otherwise I wouldn't have gone 6 times), but a chef told me that my choice was wrong. So I decided to try their recommended dish: Double Soup Shoyu Ramen with extra noodles. I was surprised to see that it came with extra noodles! It was late at night, but I felt a bit excited. The saltiness that I usually don't like at Suzuran was completely absent this time. The richness of the broth was also satisfying. I usually enjoy junk food, but the saltiness at this shop didn't sit well with me. However, that doesn't mean it's not tasty, which is why I didn't give it a low rating. Finally, I felt relieved. Visited for dinner in Sapporo. This shop is only open at night. A nearby popular shop had a wait time of over 10 turns, estimated to be over 120 minutes, so we went to this shop instead. We arrived around 11:00 PM and waited in line for about 20 minutes before getting inside. We bought food tickets and were seated in about 10 more minutes. I chose the soy sauce ramen, although they also had miso ramen. The soup had a very traditional, gentle color and a very mild soy sauce flavor when tasted. It was excellent after drinking it. I was happy that it came with seaweed. The medium-thick noodles paired well with the soup.

Yellow bowl with a light and dry curry sauce, which was surprisingly empty and I was seated immediately! The curry ramen here is the best, but this time I opted for the dry version. Mixing the thin and watery paste really changes the flavor, making it a great way to finish the meal without feeling too heavy. This place is not just popular for its name and only visited by tourists, it really is delicious.

"Menya Suzuran" Yellow Button (Irregular Limited Edition) Miso Base ¥1000 First visit to Menya Suzuran. Menya Suzuran is located in Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. It opened in September 2012. The owner has experience training at "Sumire" and "Magic Spice" (the originator of soup curry). I heard rumors about a limited menu that combines miso and curry in a hybrid way, held irregularly, so I decided to visit. As soon as I inserted money into the ticket machine, the yellow button on the top right (limited menu) lit up, so I ordered the miso base without hesitation. Soup: A rich miso soup with a blend of pork bone, chicken bone, and seafood broth, combined with curry soup. The rich and lard-laden miso reminiscent of Sumire, combined with the spicy curry, creates a wonderful synergistic effect. It is deep in flavor and very delicious. Noodles: Medium-thick noodles made by Sagamiya Seimen. They have a slight wave to them. The noodles themselves have a savory taste and are robust. They mix well with the rich soup. Toppings: Thinly sliced cha-shu, bamboo shoots, cabbage, smoked egg, green onions, paste. It is rare to have bamboo shoots instead of menma. The smoked egg adds a nice aroma. By gradually melting the paste, the sweetness and acidity seep out, creating a new flavor. The toppings are well thought out. Overall: It was an unusual combination of rich miso ramen and spicy curry, but the deliciousness of each element beautifully enhanced each other. The toppings were also well-crafted, keeping it interesting until the last bite. Thank you for the meal.
