In recent years, many 24-hour or early morning opening family restaurants have been focusing on their breakfast menus. Even in gyudon (beef bowl) restaurants, they have expanded their breakfast menus, offering breakfast sets and various breakfast options. Most breakfast menus are priced in the 300 yen range or even less than a coin, but perhaps the cheapest option is the "Tamakake Breakfast (250 yen including tax)" at "Sukiya". Of course, there are options like McDonald's breakfast menu starting from 200 yen with a drink set, but the Tamakake Breakfast at Sukiya includes rice, miso soup, raw egg, potato salad, and roasted seaweed for 250 yen, which seems like a great deal. If you break down the prices individually, the rice is 160 yen, miso soup is 80 yen, and raw egg is 60 yen, totaling 300 yen. With the addition of roasted seaweed and potato salad, it becomes a set worth 400 yen. This time, I added the "Gyudon Small Side Dish (110 yen)" available during the morning time, making it a 360 yen breakfast. Another contender would be Matsuya's "Choose from Small Side Dishes with Egg Over Rice (290 yen)", but it does not include roasted seaweed and potato salad, so adding those items individually would exceed 400 yen. Personally, there are times when I crave for "egg over rice", and during those times, I choose to visit Sukiya.
