I visited the restaurant at the end of the night. The staff were very friendly and gave off a vibe of working hard. I ordered the pork miso soup, which had a strong ginger flavor that I personally enjoyed. It was good. When it comes to onigiri, I prefer the taste of Susukino or "Nadai" in Tamachi when I'm in Tokyo, and when compared to those, I feel there is room for improvement in terms of how it's made, the seasoning, and the flavor of the seaweed. Also, I think it would be better if the prices on the menu were clearer, especially for the onigiri. Overall, the meal was satisfying for a late-night bite. Thank you for the meal.

This is a visit before the state of emergency was declared. The restaurant has a clean sushi counter-like setup with a bright wooden counter. It usually stays open late, catering to people who have just finished work at other establishments or those looking for a late-night snack like onigiri or ochazuke. The day I visited, there was a friendly lady working alone, who was easy to talk to. The appetizer was a dish of smoked long potato with cream cheese. I had heard about smoked long potato before but never had the chance to try it, so this was my first experience. It had a strong texture and a sweet flavor with a smoky aroma, which was indeed quite addictive. The smoothness and mellowness of the cream cheese balanced well with the punchy flavor and texture of the pickled vegetable. It's no wonder they go well together, both being fermented foods. As for the onigiri... shouldn't it be served with a more crispy and flavorful fresh seaweed instead?

I went to another restaurant, but I was ignored and it made me angry, so I left. My wife laughed and said, "I told you so." It's frustrating when a place I thought was good is full and they ignore us. I quickly left because I was upset and my wife's mocking laughter didn't help. We tried another place, but it's hard to find a good one in town. We ended up at "Onigiri-ya Daisei," a new place that used to be a sushi restaurant. I ordered a beer and my wife had oolong tea. The appetizer was a simmered dish, maybe konjac, with a spicy flavor. We ordered the "ochazuke" as our main dish, but it lacked the essential dashi flavor for me. The seasoning was good though. The presentation was nice, but the dish didn't satisfy my craving for ochazuke. My wife was even more critical. She's a tough critic.
