In December, I visited a curry restaurant in Sapporo with my partner. This place had already been popular, and it was even featured on a TV show in November, so it was very crowded and there was a long line. We visited on a weekday during our day off. The restaurant, Seoul Store, is located in the Tanukikoji area of Sapporo, making it easily accessible. The interior was bright and the seating was comfortable with just the right amount of space between tables. I ordered the Super Coarse Lamb and Kuroda's Mashed Tofu Curry, while my partner ordered the Chicken Curry. The lamb curry had a rich and flavorful broth with tender chunks of lamb, and the Gobo Bar was a unique and delicious addition. My partner's Chicken Curry was simple yet tasty, with tender chicken and a classic broth. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meals and the high quality of the curry. Despite being a popular spot, we were surprised that this restaurant was not included in the Curry Top 100 list for Sapporo. We definitely plan on returning to this restaurant in the future.

Tanukikoji has moved to the second floor. The main dish here seems to be the thick deep-fried burdock root. It is included in all the basic vegetable ingredients of the soup curry menu. The soup options include the light CLASSICS, the rich BOSSA for an additional 100 yen, and the night limited coconut and citrus-based Psyche for an additional 100 yen. I opted for the normal CLASSICS with chicken and vegetables for 1050 yen. I chose medium spiciness level 3 for the heat. The rice portion is average, so I added 50 yen for a medium serving. The soup curry is served in a stylish small bowl filled with plenty of chicken and vegetables. The soup is a typical curry soup with a pork bone broth base, not particularly spicy with no distinct features. The level 3 spiciness was just right for me, but level 4 (fairly spicy for an additional 100 yen) would also be fine. The standout feature of this soup curry is the delicious vegetables. The pumpkin, carrots, eggplant, bell peppers, watercress, sweet potatoes, and cabbage are all delicious. The deep-fried burdock root, which overflows from the main bowl, is also very tasty and seems to be sourced from a high-quality supplier. The soup itself may lack a bit of uniqueness, but the combination of chicken, vegetables, and broth elevates the overall flavor. The vegetables are perfect, and I may want to try a different soup next time.

I am Little Tooth, the Northern Strolling Man. I felt like having curry, so I visited this second-floor restaurant on Tanuki Koji street. I arrived just before 12pm on a holiday and was able to get in without waiting, but within a few minutes, there was a line forming. It's quite popular. The soup had a classic level of spiciness at 4, rich and flavorful with a good kick of spices, making me sweat. The ingredients like burdock, eggplant, and carrots were all soft and delicious. The chicken was tender, juicy, and very filling! I think this Sapporo-style soup curry is easy to eat and would be enjoyed by everyone. I recommend it. Thank you for the meal. Ah, delicious!

Recently, I took my wife to the best soup curry restaurant in Sapporo that I just found out about. We went in the evening, but we couldn't get in for the first round, so we waited inside the restaurant while looking at the menu. The staff was polite and kind, and took our order in advance, so we didn't have to wait long. We sat at a table and the soup curry was served right away! I enjoyed it with a bottle of YEBISU beer. Tonight, I ordered the "Seasonal Vegetable Curry" with chicken leg topping, which is my special menu choice (laughs). When I ordered, I chose "Boss" soup with spiciness level 4 (quite spicy) and normal rice. It was my first time trying Boss soup, and it was rich and had a sweetness and depth that I think women would enjoy. Since I made it quite spicy at level 4, it turned out to be a deliciously spicy soup. The ingredients were filled with large chunks of vegetables, giving it a wonderful visual and taste that made me feel like I was truly in Hokkaido. The chicken leg topping was tender and flavorful, with no unpleasant smell, making it an excitingly delicious soup curry. I would love to visit this restaurant again next time. I made a reservation at a Genghis Khan restaurant at night, but since I had some time to spare, I decided to go to this restaurant for a meal. Along the way, I saw an attractive soup curry restaurant, and I was tempted to go there. I realized that Samurai Curry, which I knew from Shimokitazawa, also has a soup curry restaurant in this area! Eventually, I arrived at the restaurant. It is located on the second floor of a shopping street and is not very conspicuous, but the interior is bright and spacious, which was a pleasant surprise. Although there were many customizable options for the soup curry, the menu was easy to understand. I was indecisive, but I decided to try the Seasonal Vegetable Curry with plenty of ingredients. The dish arrived promptly! There were so many vegetables! I remember feeling that Hokkaido's soup curry had a lot of vegetables when I tried it last year, and this place also had a substantial amount. You can choose the curry soup, so this time I chose the psychedelic one made with coconut milk. First, I took a sip of the curry soup, and it was delicious! The aroma of coconut milk and citrus was delightful. It was rich and tasty! I was happy that you could choose the level of spiciness of the soup. I ate the individually fried vegetables one by one, and personally, I enjoyed the burdock and pumpkin the most. They had a strong root vegetable aroma, and the frying was done perfectly, allowing me to taste the vegetables' flavors clearly. Considering that I had so many vegetables for around ¥1300, the cost performance was quite good!

Conclusion: It is not worth sweating for an hour on a Saturday night while waiting in line to eat. I had the Chicken Vegetable Curry for 1,300 yen, along with Classic Soup, medium spiciness, regular rice, and a lassi for 300 yen, totaling 1,600 yen. The curry sauce does have a good flavor, and while it is spicy enough to make you sweat, it lacks depth. The fried vegetables were surprisingly delicious. The vegetables are all large, so cutting them into smaller pieces and dipping them in the sauce makes them tasty. It's great for eating the vegetables, but not so much for soaking the rice. Towards the end, there were plenty of finely chopped fried vegetables soaking in the sauce, where the sauce finally developed some depth. It's too late by then. Wouldn't it be better to simmer the vegetables a bit from the start? I wonder why this place is so popular.

Homemade spicy sauce goes beyond soup curry, and of course, it was a spicy soup. Even at level 2 spiciness, thanks to the numbing sensation, you can taste a strong spiciness. The Hokkaido beef simmered in leek and the fried maitake mushrooms have a good volume of meat and strong umami flavor, making them a great combination with the soup. On the other hand, the seasonal vegetable dish from Bossa is gentle, healthy, and also a popular choice. When pairing with rice, I think this curry with Hokkaido beef and maitake mushrooms is more suitable than the classic soup. Today's menu included Hokkaido beef simmered in leek, fried maitake mushrooms curry with homemade spicy sauce level 2, seasonal vegetable curry from Bossa level 2, and warm rice with soft-boiled egg.

With broccoli toppings. At 1,200 yen plus 100 yen, this menu is the only choice here. While the regular style curry is delicious, I am addicted to this "bukkake" style. It's delicious! I wish they would offer crispy thin-sliced burdock root as a topping in addition to the burdock sticks. I'm not sure about weekdays, but it's understandable that it's popular on weekends with the long queues.

The high ceiling created a sense of openness. They serve smaller portions, so even those with small appetites can finish their meal! You can choose from different types of soups, and the one in the photo is the regular soup. The vegetables are delicious, especially the sweet potatoes!

Soul Store in Sapporo Chuo-ku, located on Tanukikoji, has moved quite a while ago but this is my first visit since the relocation. It's ironic that it has become more convenient to access but it took me this long to visit. I ordered the chicken and vegetable curry. I chose the classic soup, medium spiciness level 3, medium rice portion, and added melty cheese on top of the rice. The distinctive burdock root was delicious and made an impact as usual. The curry was packed with plenty of vegetables, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious, so you can't go wrong with this place. On the second day in Hokkaido, I enjoyed some soup curry for lunch! It was lunchtime and every place had a line, with more people starting to gather. We waited for about 6 people ahead of us, but managed to get in and ordered the chicken curry. Here, you can choose the level of spiciness and the type of soup to suit your taste. The curry had a lot of vegetables and was very satisfying, but the soup was delicious and I ended up finishing it all. It was my first time having soup curry, and it was light and tasty!

Before I knew it, I've only been ordering this recently... Today I topped my dish with broccoli and seasonal zucchini. The zucchini was so big, juicy, and delicious, almost like steak! The broccoli was as tasty as ever! And the curry, when mixed together, was also delicious!

Soul Store offers a variety of original menus, and after much deliberation, I decided to go with a basic combination in order to compare with other restaurants. The spiced classic soup had a strong impact and I really enjoyed it as a soup. The combination of vegetables and chicken was excellent, earning high praise. However, when paired with rice, it felt a bit too light, so the evaluation may vary depending on whether you consider the soup curry to be more of a curry or a soup. Visited the second curry restaurant on a Hokkaido tour. Arrived around 13:50 on a weekday, with 5 other customers already there. Sat at the counter seat and looked at the menu. Not a fan of curry with lots of ingredients, so I ordered the Noritama Chicken for 850 yen with Bossa soup for an extra 100 yen, and a small portion of rice. After an 8-minute wait, the Noritama Chicken and Japanese rice arrived. The Bossa soup was creamy and spicy. The menu describes it as "a rich, sweet, and mellow soup with a strong flavor and a refreshing taste thanks to a secret ingredient. Highly satisfying!! No. 1 among women!!" The refreshing taste might be yuzu, and the creamy texture is probably from soy milk. I agree with the high satisfaction level mentioned. The dish included burdock bars, four tender chicken pieces, seaweed, scallions, sesame seeds, cabbage, and a hot spring egg. I mixed in the hot spring egg halfway through and enjoyed it all. I alternated between the soup and rice. For soup curry, a portion of around 50g of rice might be enough. Next time, I plan to try the intensely red Tofu Curry for 1,200 yen, and I'll request it extra spicy. Thank you for the meal.

[Record] Sōki and mushroom curry (classic, spiciness level 2) 1450, topping (zucchini) 150, plain lassi 350, total 1950. The sōki is as delicious as ever, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The vegetables are fresh, and the topping of zucchini is generous.

I was on a business trip in Sapporo and on the last day, I wanted to eat soup curry. I searched on Tabelog for a soup curry restaurant near my hotel and went there alone. I arrived 20 minutes before they opened and there was no line yet. I waited at the entrance until they opened. Once they opened, I sat at the counter and it quickly became full. I ordered a curry with lots of vegetables and tender chicken. I wish it was a bit spicier. The curry was delicious though.

I've been eating nothing but this recently! It's so addictive! I eat as much tofu as rice, so I don't feel guilty eating a lot, and I feel full. Even on weekdays, there are customers lining up before the store opens, so it's no wonder it's popular. Regular soup curry is delicious, but I recommend the "Passionate!! Bright Red Tofu Curry". I always choose extra spicy and mix everything together at the end to eat it like a risotto. The cabbage that becomes slightly chewy after pouring the soup is delicious, and I want to order extra cabbage.

After finishing up some business, I decided to have my final meal in Sapporo. It was lunchtime on a weekday, and I couldn't decide where to go. I wondered where the popular spots are for salarymen and office ladies. Then I realized I hadn't tried soup curry yet, so I reconsidered my options. I felt like eating a lot of vegetables and ingredients, so I headed to one of my top three favorite places. Before entering, I checked if they served soup curry, as I sometimes end up at ramen shops by mistake. I easily found a seat at the counter and ordered my usual seasonal vegetable curry with a Bossa soup base and asparagus topping. The total cost went over 2000 yen, but it was worth it. The curry always has a different look because of the seasonal vegetables. The Bossa soup base, which costs extra, is delicious. The bowl is filled with plenty of vegetables, so it takes time to eat and leaves you feeling satisfied. The colorful presentation of the dish is appetizing, and I love the abundance of ingredients in the seasonal vegetable curry at this soulful spot.

I saw a soup curry restaurant on Tanuki Koji that always has a long line, so I decided to try it since there was no line. I ordered the chicken meatball and burdock soup curry with original soup level 4 spiciness, and added green onion salt chicken topping because I was hungry. It arrived in about 15 minutes, and when I took a sip of the soup, I could taste the umami, sweetness, and perfect balance of spiciness. The chicken meatballs were fluffy and the burdock was delicious. However, the chicken was too fried and tough, not very tasty. The rich soup became a bit overwhelming as I ate, so I got a bit tired of it towards the end. I think this might be due to my age, younger people might enjoy it until the end. Also, I didn't like that the rice was too soft. Overall, it was a good meal.

Visited around 1:00 PM on Sunday. Waited for about 30 minutes as there were 5 groups ahead. Ordered the seasonal vegetable soup curry with classic spiciness level 3 and a small portion of rice (half size). The soup curry contained over 20 types of vegetables, which made it very satisfying.
