December 2021, 2nd day of business trip in Hokkaido, dinner. Due to the pandemic, it's my first business trip to Sapporo since February 2020. I usually dine alone, but this time I decided to have dinner with colleagues from the Sapporo office. When I mentioned that I wanted to eat Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), my colleague from Shibetsu recommended a place in Susukino, which is their favorite. I love Genghis Khan, and I had visited this restaurant alone in 2017. I was determined to eat a lot this time since I couldn't eat much when dining alone. We met at 6 pm and toasted to our reunion.
- Lamb shoulder loin 1,000 yen at 18:11
- Mutton 1,000 yen
- Lamb loin 1,000 yen
We started with the basics, and oh, they were delicious! I thought I could just keep eating these. Everything was so tasty.
- Otokoyama Daiginjo Sake "Taisetsu no Kura" 900 yen
After the raw dishes, I switched to Japanese sake. It might be from Asahikawa.
- Lamb giblets at 18:52
- Salted tongue
Next, we tried something different - lamb giblets. They were skewered and grilled. They were juicy and had a delicious flavor. The salted tongue had the texture of tongue but tasted like lamb. Both were delicious.
- Namara skewers 700 yen at 18:53
These skewers were coated with spicy miso. We couldn't figure out which meat it was, but it was even more meaty than the lamb giblets and very tasty.
- Hokkaido lamb at 19:13
Finally, we had Hokkaido lamb Genghis Khan. Perhaps the freshness made a difference, as it was tender and delicious. In conclusion, everything was delicious. Isn't that enough? We ate quite a lot. It was great to enjoy Genghis Khan with colleagues after a long time. It was a wonderful experience!

I went to Genghis Khan Lamb in Chuo Ward, Sapporo. The lamb, loin, mutton, lamb fillet, and lamb chops were all fresh and very delicious. The Sapporo Classic draft beer was very refreshing.

In mid-June 2021 (Thursday), for dinner. Since I am staying in Sapporo today, let's have some Genghis Khan (grilled lamb). I decided to visit this restaurant from the ones I have saved. Apparently, there is a Sapporo festival happening today, and there are a lot of people. I arrived around 5:05 PM, and there were about 3 customers already. The restaurant quickly became full while I was eating. I'm glad I came right after they opened. I was seated at the counter. First, I had a "draft beer," and for meat, I ordered "lamb shoulder loin" and "lamb." For vegetables, I asked for the standard "onion" and "bean sprouts." The charcoal grill for Genghis Khan was prepared, and I was ready to enjoy the meal. The raw lamb was indeed tender and delicious, with no gamey taste but a unique lamb flavor. The lamb was lean with a good amount of shoulder loin containing some fat, making it tender. I switched to a "whiskey highball" for my drink and ordered additional meat, "mutton" and "salted tongue." I was advised to eat the salted tongue without any sauce. Starting with the mutton, it had a strong meaty flavor typical of Genghis Khan, which I enjoyed. The salted tongue had a well-seasoned taste and was perfect to eat as it is, with a chewy texture making it a great snack with alcohol. I tried to be mindful of not overeating, but ended up enjoying all four meat dishes. I believe the satisfaction level at this Genghis Khan restaurant is quite high. I have made a note to visit this restaurant again in the future.

The other day I enjoyed salt Genghis Khan, and followed it up with classic Genghis Khan the next day. There were various cuts, and the tongue and loin were particularly delicious. The surrounding environment allows for hopping between different places, making for a very enjoyable time. #ram #GenghisKhan #GenghisKhanHokkaido

I found out that my favorite band had a party at this restaurant, so I had to go! When I made a reservation, they emphasized not to be late on the phone, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I arrived 20 minutes early, but there were no other customers. The prices had recently gone up, with one plate of meat costing 1200 yen. The lamb, mutton, and salted beef tongue were all cut very small, making them easy to eat. By cutting them so finely, they were able to avoid the tough parts. The sirloin, however, still had tough parts. The meat had a nostalgic and delicious flavor, similar to mutton. The dipping sauce was strong with soy sauce, which I didn't find particularly tasty. The side dishes, like pickled vegetables and salted fish roe, were priced at 400 yen and 500 yen respectively, which seemed a bit expensive. I ended up ordering more meat because I didn't feel satisfied with the amount I had.

Food Log Hokkaido Expedition 2022 Part 3
For the first day of the Reiwa 4 Food Log Hokkaido Expedition, we decided to finish off with some Genghis Khan. We visited a popular Genghis Khan (lamb meat) restaurant in the Susukino area. Before this visit, we were turned away from two places, so we took a chance without a reservation at 7:00 PM and luckily squeezed into a counter seat. The staff were efficient in cooking while maintaining a friendly atmosphere. The smoky interior added to the Genghis Khan dining experience. We ordered the following dishes:
- Lamb Shoulder Loin (1200 yen tax included): A fatty loin from Australia with a unique flavor that is not overpowering.
- Lamb Sausage (800 yen tax included): A rare dish for me with a good chewy texture and aftertaste.
- Assorted Vegetables (700 yen tax included): Fresh and delicious, but a bit pricey. Maybe just ordering onions (100 yen tax included) would have been better.
- Kibi Rice (350 yen tax included): Rice sprinkled with kibi. Delicious, but could have used a bit more volume.
- Highball (500 yen tax included): My first drink of the expedition. Finished everything! Made a mistake in ordering side dishes, resulting in a slightly higher bill. Nonetheless, satisfied with the authentic Genghis Khan experience! Thank you for the meal!

I visited at 6:00 pm on a weekday. I had to wait for about 20 minutes without a reservation, but I was able to get in. The restaurant is old-fashioned with no exhaust system at the counter, so there is a little smoke. However, the Genghis Khan here was really delicious. I tried mutton, lamb, and shoulder loin, and all the raw meat was tender without being dry.

Sapporo Chuo-ku/Susukino Genghis Khan Lamb◆Order✔️ Lamb shoulder loin 1200✔️ Lamb salt tongue 1200✔️ Onion 100✔️ Beer 600✔️ Highball 500◆ImpressionsWarped here from Sumikawa. They've raised their prices quite a bit. Oh well, nothing we can do about it. Now, the lamb tongue is exquisite! It's crispy and delicious. The lamb shoulder loin is cut a bit small but has a light sheep smell, not bad. Dip it in grated garlic and shichimi pepper and enjoy. When the onion is cooked well, it becomes sweet and tasty. If you want to eat lightly and drink, it's good enough. Thank you for the meal. Thank you very much♪

I went on a business trip to Sapporo and decided to explore Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) by myself. I didn't have much knowledge, so I checked various websites like Tabelog to decide where to go. There were front and back entrances to the restaurant, and I accidentally entered through the back, which turned out to be a unique and charming experience. The back entrance gave the place an interesting vibe, with an old-fashioned and bustling atmosphere. I was a bit worried at first due to my preconceptions about such places, but the staff were actually very kind (laughs). Since I didn't make a reservation, they asked me to wait, so I assumed they would open a counter for a single customer. I waited for about 15-20 minutes before being seated. The counter had quite a few solo diners. I ordered Hokkaido lamb and salted tongue, accompanied by vegetables like bean sprouts, onions, and garlic sprouts. Since I was dining alone, this was quite a lot for me. The tongue was delicious without any additional seasoning, just salt. It was a bit smaller than beef tongue, but I enjoyed nibbling on it. The Hokkaido lamb was also very tasty, with no gaminess. I used to be a bit wary of Genghis Khan, but after trying it in Hokkaido, I've come to like it. It was a great restaurant, and I would definitely come back if it were nearby.

Around 9 o'clock on a regular day, I visited a restaurant that I had been planning to go to but couldn't make a reservation due to the national travel support campaign. The inside of the restaurant was small but had a counter and two small raised seating areas, giving off a traditional Genghis Khan restaurant vibe. Looking at the menu at the counter, I noticed that the price for lamb was high at 1200 yen. Even the drinks, like Sapporo Classic, were priced at 650 yen. I ordered: - Highball 500 yen - Lamb shoulder loin 1200 yen - Mutton 1200 yen Since the dishes did not come with vegetables, I decided to add onions for 100 yen. The onions arrived first, in a small bowl but there was a good amount for the price. Then the meat arrived, but the portion was small. They served it with a homemade-style sauce, grated garlic, and chili pepper. The shoulder loin had little fat and the mutton had a firm texture without any strong smell. Even though the prices were a bit high, considering the quality of restaurants available at similar prices, I might have been more satisfied if it was a bit cheaper. Overall, it was a decent meal. Thank you for the meal! (^~^)

Popular Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) restaurant 'Ram' in Sapporo. I arrived at the restaurant around 9 pm and had to wait for about 10 minutes as it was crowded. I was seated at the counter. The 'Hokkaido lamb' was tender and had no gamey taste. The 'mutton' had a good chewy texture. The 'salted tongue' was elastic and even softer than beef tongue, which made it very delicious. The 'lamb chop' was cooked by the staff and served with perfect seasoning, making the meat tender and juicy. I ordered grilled vegetables, including 'onions' and 'bean sprouts', but the onions were incredibly sweet and I ended up ordering two more plates. I found it a bit strange that bean sprouts (300 yen) were more expensive than onions (100 yen).
[Dishes]
- Hokkaido lamb (1800 yen)
- Mutton (1000 yen)
- Salted tongue (1000 yen)
- Lamb chop (700 yen)
- Bean sprouts (300 yen)
- Onions (100 yen)
- Draft beer (600 yen)

This is a Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) restaurant in Susukino. It was recommended by my boss and this was my second visit. It's a small restaurant with about 6 counter seats and 8 table seats, but the vegetables, meat, and beer are all very delicious and highly recommended. I was impressed by the delicious new onions and asparagus this season. Also, they offer a limited quantity of domestic lamb, which is highly recommended. Although it's in Hokkaido, surprisingly there are few restaurants where you can enjoy domestic lamb, so it's quite valuable.

When it comes to Hokkaido, I visited in search of Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is on the small side, so I recommend making a reservation! There are several types of Genghis Khan to choose from, but I found one with a mild flavor that was delicious!

The dish is a type with soy sauce standing out, which I like. I ordered a non-alcoholic beer, lamb mutton with some fat, and vegetable stir-fried rice. If you prefer the taste of the sauce over the meat quality, I think "Itadakimasu" and "Hitsujikabuto" are recommended for lamb meat. If you are looking for the meat quality of lamb, then salt is recommended.

I found a Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) restaurant in Susukino. It seems to be constantly crowded with customers, making it difficult to get a table without a reservation. I tried lamb, tongue, loin, sausage, dumplings with garlic, asparagus, and new onions. Their homemade salted fish roe is amazing, so I recommend trying it. Your clothes will definitely smell like barbecue after eating here, but the food is worth it. They provide plastic bags at the restaurant, so I suggest using them to cover your jacket. The tongue is seasoned a bit strongly, and the lamb is tender and can be eaten medium-rare, seems to be fresh. It was delicious!

I visited this restaurant for dinner. It has been about 5 years and 3 months since my last visit. It's been a really long time. I ordered a "Sapporo Classic draft beer," "Lamb shoulder loin from Austria," and "Onion." It turns out that onions are now charged separately, which was new to me. The lamb shoulder loin was delicious. One serving was not enough, so I ordered additional "New Zealand lamb," "Lamb shoulder loin," and "Ice-colored sour lemon." All the meat here is delicious. I would like to come back to eat here again. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived about 15 minutes after the 17:00 opening. When I got there, I was told to wait for about 20-30 minutes, so of course I waited! They gave me a bag to keep away the smell beforehand, and after about 10 minutes, I was able to enter the shop! I've been to many places in Tokyo to eat lamb, but this place was refreshing! I enjoyed Hokkaido lamb and onion asparagus while savoring the beer unique to Sapporo! The staff was friendly, and there were regular customers, creating a very cozy atmosphere! The phone for reservations and inquiries was ringing non-stop before 18:00! I think it's better to make a reservation in advance! There were many autographs from famous people, but unfortunately, I couldn't find Enrique's.

The Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) had no smell and was great value for money. However, what left the strongest impression was the garlic sprouts. They were incredibly delicious. The beer was not the best value, but it's impressive that in a city with many popular restaurants, this one requires reservations.

I had the day off from work today, so I wanted to enjoy a leisurely meal. I was impressed when I visited last year, and this time was just as good! The lamb and mutton chops were delicious, and the smoke from the garlic shoots added to the atmosphere. I'll definitely come back here again when I'm in the area. Thank you for the meal!

In Susukino, there is a long-established Genghis Khan restaurant where the female owner provides prompt service and grills fresh lamb meat over charcoal. The Genghis Khan is simple but delicious, with no unpleasant smell and fresh, lean lamb meat. It is a healthy option that is gentle on the body. Highly recommended.
