The dipping sauce is fruity and sweet. The large rice portion in the bowl felt small. The pork shoulder was eaten with wasabi and soy sauce, a bit of a strong smell but delicious. The Genghis Khan was thinly sliced, average taste, but not cheap. The cost performance is not very good.

The exterior is a cute black wooden one-story building. Inside, it is cozy with 4 sunken kotatsu tables for 4 people, 6 tables, and 2 terrace tables (ashtrays available on the terrace). Ordered: - Lamb Genghis Khan x2 for 900 yen each - Lamb Thick-cut Shoulder Loin (with wasabi) for 1,200 yen - Udon for 300 yen - Rice (large) for 300 yen - Kimchi (complimentary) - Potatoes (souvenir) The lamb meat is trimmed neatly with some fat left, offering a variety of textures and no gamey taste. It is very delicious. The thick-cut shoulder loin has a lot of fat, making it tender and very tasty. The sauce is garlicky with a fruity sweetness, enhancing the appetite and tasting refreshing. As always, I enjoyed the Genghis Khan udon as a service today and received Memuro-grown Matilda potatoes as a souvenir from the beautiful lady. Obijin Main Store August 9, 2023 Today, I visited a restaurant for the first time, "Obijin Genghis Khan Obijin Memuro Main Store," after seeing a post by Captain Haru, whom I admire and respect. The location is in Shibayama, Memuro-cho. Along Route 55, near Shibayama Shrine. The exterior is a cute black wood-style one-story building. The interior is cozy with 4 small raised tatami tables for 4 people, 6 sunken kotatsu tables, and 2 terrace tables (ashtrays available on the terrace). I was greeted by Poruporu-kun and a beautiful lady who mentioned seeing me at the cherry picking. It turns out they remembered me from when I gave cherries to a mother and daughter who seemed unable to pick any during a cherry picking trip to Shimizu Fruit Garden. They were very grateful and provided us with a lot of extra service. We ordered: Lamb Genghis Khan x2 for 800 yen each, Lamb Shoulder Loin for 1,000 yen, Udon for 300 yen, Large Rice for 300 yen, Miso Soup (complimentary), Pickles (complimentary), and Iced Coffee for 300 yen (complimentary). The lamb meat was trimmed neatly, with different textures and no odor, making it very delicious. The shoulder loin had a lot of fat, was tender, and very tasty. The sauce had a garlic kick, fruity sweetness, and was light and tasty. The udon soaked in the sauce was also delicious. I will definitely come back for the Genghis Khan. Thank you for the meal. K-san informed me about the restaurant's social media account, and whenever I saw the shop sign, I would go to the location to do some reconnaissance (this passion, haha). The shop owner happened to come out when I arrived, and I asked various questions. The shop is called Memuro Sōhonten, a Genghis Khan (lamb barbecue) restaurant in Obihiro. It was a hot summer day, and the inside of the shop had tables with sunken hearths and fans cooling the air. There were six tables in total, and the cute waitress was heartwarming. From the opening menu available from August 4th to August 20th, we shared the following dishes: - Lamb Genghis Khan (half head portion) for 800 yen - Lamb shoulder loin (rare cut) for 1000 yen - Assorted vegetables for 500 yen - Rice (large) for 300 yen The Genghis Khan was cooked in a cast iron pot with oil and beef fat to prepare it for grilling. When the vegetables were added, the oil splattered (sweating). It's recommended to wear clothes that can be washed easily. The lamb Genghis Khan is made from the half head of a sheep, with various cuts balanced for a delicious meal. The dipping sauce is a light fruity type, and the sauce is not too strong, allowing you to enjoy the natural flavor of the meat. The lamb shoulder loin is a rare cut, only 7% can be taken from one sheep, and it has a thicker and larger cut than the lamb Genghis Khan, with a refined taste. The assorted vegetables were diverse, and the konjac was interestingly served as is. The cherry tomatoes were sweet and sour, providing a refreshing feeling in the mouth. The rice was freshly cooked and delicious. The shop owner used to live in Sapporo but moved to Kamishimizu, Memuro Town (with three daughters), and had been involved in the food and beverage industry. He always wanted to run his own restaurant and found a property in Shibuya, which led to the opening of this restaurant (apologies if there are any details that are incorrect). For now, this is the only shop in Memuro Sōhonten (laugh). As it's just the owner and his wife, they only open for lunch. Their ultimate goal is to create a gathering place for everyone, so they are considering private reservations for dinner and beyond. They are also thinking about adding a "salt" menu in the future.
