Arriving at the Napolitan restaurant in Monzen-Nakacho a little after 11:30, there was no wait. The menu offers more than just Napolitan pasta, with options like meat sauce and mentaiko pasta available, but I decided to start with the Napolitan. I appreciated that they offer a small size, so I ordered the Napolitan with a fried egg topping and an anchovy toast. The pasta and toast arrived in less than 10 minutes. The dish was served in a deep plate that seems suitable for takeout, and I was provided with disposable plastic forks, which meant I had to eat while holding the plate since the chairs and tables were at the same height. This casual setup was quite nice. It seemed to be a one-person operation, which likely helps balance convenience and eco-friendliness. While the Napolitan didn’t have a distinctive flavor that made me go "wow," it was satisfying enough. The anchovy toast, on the other hand, definitely stood out with its strong salty flavor—it was incredibly delicious. I initially thought four pieces of toast would be too much, but I polished them off easily. They also seem to have a focus on coffee, which I regretted not ordering. Next time, I plan to try the meat sauce along with a hot coffee, and I will definitely order the anchovy toast again.

I went to "Makoritan" to enjoy some Napolitan spaghetti. The restaurant has a café-like atmosphere, and even when dining in, they serve the food in takeout-style containers. You can choose from 200g, 300g, or 400g portions. The noodles are chewy and have a delightful texture, just like a true Napolitan should. I had a delicious traditional Napolitan spaghetti there. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

In a quiet residential area about a 10-minute walk from Monzen-Nakacho, a spaghetti specialty restaurant named "Makoritan" opened on June 25, 2024! The name is a cute combination of the owner's name, Makoto, and "Napolitan." The interior has a unique atmosphere reminiscent of a Japanese tea house, featuring four low table seats. Although it’s a restaurant, there's something distinctly different about the place. You order and pay at the counter in the back. I chose the Napolitan and the Mentaiko spaghetti. After waiting a little over 10 minutes, my dishes were served. The spaghetti came in deep paper bowls. The Napolitan was made with medium-thick noodles, bell peppers, shiitake mushrooms, and sausage, all stir-fried, representing the classic Napolitan flavor. The Mentaiko spaghetti used slightly thinner noodles and had a delicious hint of yuzu pepper. Both dishes were simply delicious! They also offer takeout and delivery through various apps, so if you live nearby, definitely check it out. ▽--------------------------▽ ○ Restaurant Name: Makoritan ○ Tabelog Rating: 3.02 (as of September 6, 2024) ○ 10-minute walk from Monzen-Nakacho Station ○ Budget: ¥1,000 per person ○ Address: 1-7-16 Fukuzumi, Koto City, Tokyo ○ Hours: [Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri] 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM, [Sat, Sun, National Holidays] 11:30 AM - 5:00 PM ※ Closed on Mondays ※ Credit cards & PayPay accepted △--------------------------△ 【Reservation Policy】 No reservations accepted 【Recommended for】 Colleagues, Friends, Solo visits 【Crowd Status】 Visited on Friday at 12:40 PM with one customer ahead of me 【Order】 ◆ Napolitan M (300g) ¥1,000 ◆ Mentaiko Spaghetti M (300g) ¥1,000

I was surprised by how delicious it was! Is this a new restaurant? The interior was very clean and had a delightful decor, like a traditional sweets shop or tea house, with several low tables and chairs. Each table was arranged against the wall, allowing you to lean back comfortably, which was nice and relaxing! As for the pasta... it was way too delicious ( ; ; )! The "Mentaiko Pasta" was refreshingly flavored with yuzu pepper, but the star was definitely the mentaiko. I was able to enjoy the pasta and sauce until the very end without them getting dry or sticking together. The "Napolitan" pasta is sure to be a hit with kids. The sweet and rich sauce was well-cooked and had a toasty aroma that really whetted my appetite. You can customize your toppings, and the portion sizes (S, M, L) are great for matching your appetite! Since this area has many residential neighborhoods, it’s also very convenient for takeout for lunch or dinner. The prices are reasonable, so it seems perfect for kids’ snacks too! I want to try the "Meat Sauce" next time. Thank you for the delicious meal! ✼••┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈••✼ Thank you for reading my review. In June, a specialized restaurant for Napolitan and meat sauce opened its doors, named after "Makoto-san's Napolitan." It seems they were called that even before opening. While takeout is the primary focus, dining in is also available, and the interior space is quite spacious with water provided for customers. I ordered the Napolitan (M size, 1000 yen) with added cut bacon (+200 yen) and grated cheese (+100 yen). The dish features thick, chewy noodles that are sometimes crispy at the edges, stir-fried with various ingredients. The ketchup has a pleasant sweetness, making it easy to eat. Even the standard size comes loaded with ingredients like sausages, bell peppers, and onions, providing ample portioning that leaves you feeling quite full. The added bacon is thick and juicy, cooked separately and added on top, allowing for a rich, smoky flavor. The grated cheese, made from grass-fed products, offers an impressive amount for just 100 yen. The junk food deliciousness is absolutely delightful! You can customize your Napolitan with options such as extra vegetables or a fried egg. The meat sauce also looks tempting. You can get takeout, and if this place were nearby, I would definitely become a regular!

I'm in a competition between Napolitan and meat sauce, both of which are delicious. The coleslaw is surprisingly tasty too. You can enjoy your meal in the restaurant or take it to go. I go there nearly every week (laughs), and I've noticed that both the interior and the menu have gradually been upgraded and are becoming easier to read.

On a day when the scorching heat was overwhelming, I visited Monzen-nakacho. Since I was there, I decided to have lunch in the area. After some research, I found a newly opened spaghetti shop, so I stopped by to check it out. They only offered two types of pasta: Napolitan and Meat Sauce. The portion sizes were small (S), medium (M), and large (L), priced from 800 yen with increments of 200 yen. Additionally, you could add toppings like bacon or cheese to customize your dish. I ordered the large size Napolitan without any toppings, and paid 1,200 yen using PayPay. At first glance, the interior seemed to suggest it was a take-out only place, but it actually allowed for dining in. After waiting for about six minutes, my order was served. The dish was served in a paper container, and the fork provided was plastic—indicating you could easily take it away. I was also given Tabasco for flavor adjustment (free of charge). Be careful as the dish was piping hot. The taste was slightly on the sweeter side, and it might be just right with some powdered cheese. The ingredients included sausage, bell peppers, onions, and shimeji mushrooms. The large portion was indeed satisfying, and I think it might be too much for anyone who isn’t very hungry. I sat on a bench seat directly under the air conditioner, but I couldn't stop sweating while enjoying the hot Napolitan. After finishing my meal, I took a short break to let my sweat dry before heading home. I felt a bit embarrassed being seen off by the lady of the shop. Also, please note that water is provided in plastic bottles for 100 yen, so it's not free—be careful about that.
