I also had the opportunity to be a "Negi Otoko" in Otaru. The other day, I used 10 udon meal tickets for the first time in my life to get a free udon, but I still had 5 tickets left in my wallet, so I got a discount on tempura. Even at chain restaurants, some places have their own unique characteristics, but the good thing here is that no matter where you go, the quality is consistent. As long as the quality is decent, it gives users a sense of security.

I have eaten at Mikaaru several times, but this is only my second time here since it opened. I used to eat here occasionally in Tokyo, but I actually prefer Wanpaiya over Marugame Seimen. I originally wanted to eat something cold, but ended up ordering warm udon while waiting in line. And to make matters worse, I couldn't resist the freshly fried tempura right in front of me, so I ended up adding it to my order. I should have just stuck with green onions! Both warm and cold udon dishes are a must with ginger. I remember the broth being unusually salty when they first opened, but this time it was delicious. However, if you want to truly savor the flavor of udon, the cold version is the way to go. I will definitely try the cold one next time! Thank you for the meal!

After visiting the grave, I had a lot of delicious egg tempura on the way back! I always have it with lots of tempura crumbs and plenty of green onions (lol). I always go for the quail tempura. I was so happy to have eggs! This store is very spacious! But the floor is dirty. It's sticky (lol). Thank you for the meal! *(^o^)/*

I'm starving and want to eat as soon as possible!! In times like this, Marugame Udon is the place to go! It's crowded during lunchtime, but the line moves quickly. I always go for the kake udon with kashiwa tempura and gobou tempura. I like to add a lot of green onions and go easy on the tempura flakes. The light broth with plenty of noodles is so satisfying. The chewy udon paired with crispy tempura is just heavenly. Ahh, the reliably delicious taste. It's like drinking udon, haha. Thank you for the meal.

I went there for the first time. I always wanted to go, but the timing never worked out. It was my first time eating there, and it was delicious. I usually prefer soba, so I never ate udon before, but it is definitely tastier than ○○ru. However, if I would visit again, it would have to be when the timing is just right. That's because I'm still a soba fan.

I went to Marugame Sanuki Udon for the first time in a while. It was my second time there, the last time being a few years ago. I went in the evening, so there weren't many customers. I ordered the beef suki kamatama udon with tempura on the side - squid, shrimp, and fish cake tempura, as well as an inari sushi. I think it came to 1210 yen. The tempura made it a bit pricey, but the udon was delicious as always, smooth and tasty with the sukiyaki broth. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, although the tempura was not as satisfying, probably because it wasn't freshly fried. Thank you for the meal!

Marugame Seimen is located along the Rinko Line, near the entrance of the Sakataru Expressway in Otaru City. I visited for lunch today and ordered the regular size Kake Udon and Gyudon. The Kake Udon was topped with plenty of tempura and green onions. The Gyudon seemed to have less ingredients, but the taste was to my liking so I was satisfied. It seems that it can get crowded during lunchtime, depending on the time of day. Overall, it was a good meal.

I visited during lunchtime. There was still a line but it was moving pretty quickly today. As usual, I ordered the "bukkake" udon. I also chose three tempura items - lotus root, fish cake, and half-cooked egg. I might have eaten too much, but I think I can manage. The udon noodles seemed to have a firmer texture than usual and were delicious. The fish cake tempura was crispy and chewy, and I enjoyed eating it both plain and dipped in the sauce. I probably should have just ordered one tempura item to begin with. It was a great meal.

I thought I ordered cold bukkake udon and fried tofu, but what came out was warm bukkake udon and fried tofu. Oh well, I should have just ordered kitsune udon from the start if that's the case. However, I decided to eat it as it is, seeing it as fate. The tempura with green onions was really delicious, crispy and tasty. Eating hot udon on a hot day made me sweat, but it was a satisfying meal. Thank you.

Lunch when time is limited. It's my first time here. I'm not very hungry, but I know I should eat something. Sometimes I go for curry udon. After draining the udon noodles, they don't immediately add the curry roux. I watched as they cooked the meat in a flat pot, similar to a oyakodon, in the broth. Once the meat was cooked, they added the roux and let it simmer for a bit. It was a performance I had never seen before at Marugame Seimen. They often use sweet potato for the fried items to add fiber. There was also tempura dipping sauce available separately. Is this different from other Marugame Seimen locations? I'm not sure since I haven't been to all of them, but the curry here seemed a bit lighter, maybe because of the broth. I like to top mine with lots of green onions. It was a delicious udon meal after a long time. Thank you for the meal! ^ ^

I went to Otaru with my wife, where my second son lives. After picking him up from school at the end of his club activities, he said he was going to play with his friends and didn't need lunch, so my wife and I entered the restaurant around 12:45. It was Sunday lunchtime and there was quite a line. We ordered kitsune udon (regular) after waiting for 30 minutes. It came with tempura chikuwa, pumpkin, and bamboo shoots. The broth was lightly flavored, just the way I like it. The fried tofu was delicious. The tempura was also very tasty! Thank you for the meal!

I suddenly felt like eating a warm meal and happened to pass by this place, so I decided to stop by. However, when I entered, there was a long line that didn't seem to be moving for some reason. I ended up waiting for about 20 minutes to see the udon being boiled. I ordered a set with kake udon, ika geso, toriten, and inari sushi. It took some time, but I was able to achieve my goal of having a warm meal. Thank you for the meal.

I went to pick up my second son from soccer practice and decided to stop by Otaru with my wife. After his club activities, I gave a ride to a senior who lives in the same dormitory as my son, and we went to Marugame Seimen. We arrived at 12:30 and there was a line at the entrance due to the Golden Week holiday, but the line moved quickly. I ordered the Kake Udon (regular) for ¥290 at the counter. I also got some side dishes like squid for ¥160, sweet potato for ¥100, and chikuwa tempura for ¥110. I poured the broth over the udon, added some green onions, and brought it to my seat. I put all the tempura on top. The noodles had a nice chewy texture and were delicious. The broth was also tasty. The tempura didn't stand out much, but it was decently tasty.

On the first Saturday of April, I went shopping at Minatomaru Market for the first time since the end of 2017. I bought my usual coffee beans and processed meats, then had lunch. Instead of eating at the small eatery inside the market, I decided to try the seasonal limited menu at Marugame Seimen (Otaru branch) down the harbor line. We arrived just after 11:30, and luckily found parking easily due to the rain. It was my first time at the Otaru branch, but I had visited Marugame Seimen a few times before. I ordered the spring limited udon, while my wife got the Kamaage Udon with extras. We sat at a table by the window and enjoyed our meals. The spring clam udon was impressive with a generous amount of clams and delicious broth. The noodles were firm and chewy, and the toppings of seaweed and fresh spring onions were excellent. Although I usually prefer dashi made with kombu for shellfish broth, the fish-based broth in this dish was a bit too sweet for me towards the end. However, I added some grated ginger to balance it out and finished the meal satisfied. It was my first time trying Marugame Seimen's limited menu, and I was very happy with the taste and value of the clam udon. I look forward to trying their winter duck and leek udon next time. Overall, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

The second son, along with his wife and second son, visited a Marugame Seimen restaurant in Otaru, where they had to wait in line due to the number of customers. They ordered the Duck Curry Nanban for ¥670, along with sweet potato and pumpkin tempura for ¥100 each. They received a bowl of freshly boiled udon noodles, and the staff prepared the curry broth and grilled duck meat right in front of them before serving it on top of the udon. The combination of chewy udon and flavorful curry was delicious, although there was a bit too much green onion for their personal taste. Despite the continuous flow of customers, the restaurant's efficient system impressed them.

In July 2017, I visited the restaurant to try the "Bonbee Don" created by Satochina. I ordered the Spicy Meat Dipping Udon (690 yen) and a side of rice (130 yen). The Spicy Meat Dipping Udon is a limited-time item, with warm udon topped with sesame oil-flavored green onions, sweet and spicy beef cooked in sauce, and sprinkled seaweed on top. You eat it with a warm egg and dipping sauce with chili oil. The sweetness of the beef was a bit strong due to the brown sugar, but the chili oil in the dipping sauce balanced it out nicely. The rice was served with tempura scraps, green onions, and ginger, drizzled with tempura sauce to create the "Bonbee Don"! It tastes just like a tempura rice bowl. You can even add tea and dipping sauce halfway through to make it like a "Tempura Tea"! Satochina poured dashi broth over it, but I couldn't quite tell where the broth was. Satochina's idea to enjoy the rice in this way is brilliant! I will definitely choose the "Bonbee Don" next time I visit Marugame Udon and still have room in my stomach after eating udon.
