Previously, cars at the drive-thru would extend onto the national highway causing inconvenience, but now there are two locations, so this issue may be resolved. Opening at 7 am makes it less crowded. Around 10:30 am, it may get busy as it transitions from breakfast to lunch. When I went, it was unexpectedly crowded regardless of the time. There was a decent number of customers at the drive-thru as well. Only one person was handling orders at the counter, with another person coming out from the back to assist. I usually get hotcakes for breakfast, but this time there was a mix-up with the order. Initially, I was asked to wait at the pickup counter next to the order counter, but it took a while, so they said they would deliver the order when it's ready. I received a number and went upstairs to eat. It was a big plate with sausage patty and muffin. The patty was salty. Do they usually serve strawberry jam with it? Shouldn't ketchup be with the egg? There was salt and pepper, so I put salt on the egg. The jam worked well with the patty. My companion chose a salad as a side for their breakfast. There were two dressing options, and we chose sesame. I can't remember the other side. What took so long? Maybe the egg? We ended up staying for over an hour. I really like the atmosphere here. I think it had been about 4 years since I last went to McDonald's. When my kids were little, they were always attracted by the smell of McDonald's fries coming from outside, so we used to go there about once a month. And back when I was a high school student, the McDonald's in Ekoda was like a place to hang out every day. But this time, I went to McDonald's because a junior colleague in the same industry asked for advice... and he specifically chose McDonald's. Isn't that noisy? No, not at all. There were hardly any people at this McDonald's in the evening, so we could talk normally without being disturbed. It was actually quite nice for discussions. After several years, I ate in at McDonald's. I had the Sausage Egg McMuffin set and the Bacon Egg McMuffin. The set came with the Sausage Egg McMuffin, hash browns, and coffee. The Sausage Egg McMuffin and Bacon Egg McMuffin were delicious, but the hash browns were the best. The coffee was much tastier than the canned drinks I usually have. Thank you for the meal. In the past, in Tomakomai, you had to go inside the store to make a purchase, but at the Chitose store, there was a Mac Cafe menu available at the drive-thru, so when I ordered, it was okay lol I was overwhelmed by the amount of whipped cream. February, 2023 Revisit On a certain day in February, I have mentioned in previous reviews that for about 10 years now, my cholesterol levels have been high during health check-ups, leading to the prescription of cholesterol-lowering medication. Apparently, this medication is the most prescribed in the world, indicating a high number of people with high cholesterol levels. Every three months, I visit the clinic for blood tests and to get my medication. On these days, I have to fast for a blood sugar test, so I skip breakfast and have a late breakfast after the appointment. Since it's a bit early for lunch around 10 am, I decided to go to McDonald's to try a menu item I've been curious about. The menu item that caught my attention was the "Big Breakfast Deluxe" from McDonald's morning menu called "Morning Mac". This item is priced at 680 yen, making it the most expensive item on McDonald's a la carte menu. Surprisingly, it surpasses the 650 yen "Double Big Mac" from the evening menu, making it the most expensive item among the reasonable morning menu items. This time, I ordered it as a set with a "Premium Roast Coffee (M size)" for 780 yen. Although I feel like if you only order a drink, it should be called a "combo" instead of a "set", the side menu item "Hash Potato" that comes with it makes it a set. The set includes a toasted plain English muffin with a separate sausage patty, scrambled eggs, and hash potatoes, which make up the 480 yen "Big Breakfast". The "Big Breakfast Deluxe" includes three additional hotcakes, making it 200 yen more expensive. Considering the cost breakdown of the items, it feels like a good deal with the variety of spreads that come with the hotcakes. However, the overall value of the Big Breakfast at 480 yen is debatable. The combination of English muffin and hotcakes doesn't seem to match well, giving it a slightly disjointed feel. The volume of the meal is satisfying, but it lacks a cohesive feel as a menu. Additionally, the wooden fork and knife provided are not the best quality, especially the knife's cutting ability is subpar. Overall, the meal was decent, but I found the combination of English muffin and hotcakes and the overwhelming fullness of the meal to be a bit off-putting. It was an interesting experience, but I don't think I'll be ordering it again. The mismatch in flavors and the excessive fullness of the meal were the main drawbacks for me.

I went to New Chitose Airport and decided to stop by for some time adjustment. I was surprised to see a McDonald's there. I parked my car in the parking lot and went inside. It's a new store, so everything is clean. The counter seats have AC100V and USB ports, which would have been useful during my working days. Of course, they have WiFi too. I ordered a Premium Roast Coffee M using the mobile order system, which cost ¥100 including tax. It was brought to my seat in less than 3 minutes. When I took off the lid, the amount was decent and there was no overcooked taste, indicating a new coffee. The aroma was better than before. The taste was still light but had a deeper flavor than before. I thought it was a good improvement. Time was running out, so I took the remaining coffee to my car and finished it on the way to the airport.

Today, I took a break at the McCafé. I ordered a marshmallow cream tart and a hot café latte with an extra shot, which came to ¥910 with a gift certificate. I added a small order of fries to make it ¥1020. It's a weekday, but the place is still crowded. Having a spacious parking lot definitely makes it easier to visit. 😊

I went to the collaboration frappe with GODIVA until the 22nd with a discount coupon that was in the flyer. The store was spacious and beautiful, with cakes and macarons. I was going to just get the frappe, but the black tea cake looked delicious so I ordered it (^ω^) The staff were nice and even gave me whipped cream as a service.

Generally, regular menu items are not sold during this time at breakfast-serving stores. The lineup includes English muffin sandwiches and pancake sandwiches called "Griddles." My favorite is the "Sausage Egg McMuffin" made with English muffins, eggs, sausage, and cheese. I first tried it a long time ago and have been hooked ever since. Another popular item is the "McGriddle Sausage," a simple combination of sausage and pancakes. I recently had the Morning Value Set with a hot coffee and upgraded to a side salad for an additional 50 yen. The service was a bit slow, taking about 15 minutes for the food to be served after ordering. The majority of the seating is on the second floor, with staff bringing orders to the tables. Overall, the experience was good, despite the slight delay in service. Are you a "Muffin person" or a "Griddle person"?

In April 2022, I went through the drive-thru at McDonald's. I rarely have hamburgers, so I opted for an iced coffee instead. I was a bit surprised by how light it was, but being able to enjoy an iced coffee while driving is very convenient.

The new McDonald's Playland, which is big and beautiful, is not open yet, so the children are sad. They wanted the Tomica toy from the Happy Meal, so they bought it. The cheeseburger was still thin and felt more like a snack. I had the "Samurai Mac" with grilled soy sauce flavor, bacon, tomato, and thick beef patty. The patty didn't feel cheap, and the buns were different from the regular ones. It's not cheap, but it doesn't feel like typical McDonald's. I reconsidered my opinion! If I had to choose again, I would prefer a double thick patty over bacon in the Samurai Mac.

I suddenly felt like going to McDonald's after a long time and decided to use the drive-thru. There were two lanes and it was very organized. I ordered a medium-sized iced coffee for 150 yen. It seemed like there were no errors, but compared to specialty coffee shops like Starbucks, the coffee tasted quite light and bland. In the past, McDonald's coffee was a key item that helped them recover from a sales slump, but maybe it's time for them to reevaluate the quality of their coffee. Of course, a lighter coffee might be better as a side with a hamburger.

Potatoes have been revived, as reported on TV news, so I went to eat them right away. When I entered, there were fewer people than I thought, so I enjoyed my meal slowly. After ordering, the "Big Mac set" and "Spa Chicken a la carte" arrived at the table in 1-2 minutes, and then I said "Let's eat♪". Maybe my expectations were too high, but the potatoes in the "Big Mac set" were a bit disappointing as they lacked salt. As I leisurely enjoyed my meal, more and more customers started coming in after about 30 minutes. It got crowded, so I quickly finished and evacuated to my car. "I learned about Mac Cafe by Barista from a post by kimumiyu. I like coffee, but I have no interest in baristas or drinks like lattes, so I usually don't visit Starbucks (laughs). However, when I looked at the Mac Cafe by Barista website, I saw that they had three types of White Chocolate Strawberry drinks, including White Chocolate Strawberry Frappe. Until my 40s, I didn't like sweet things, but after trying a moderately sweet cake at a cafe called "Soyokaze to Tsumuji Kaze" and enjoying an Strawberry Parfait at "Shizen Mankitsu Kurabu" in Kiyota, I started to like the sweet and sour taste of strawberries. So, I decided to give it a try. After having spicy miso ramen in Yuni and feeling warm, I felt like having something cold, so it was perfect timing. If you are visiting this store located on Route 258 (Chuo Dori), it may be smoother to enter from the back entrance facing Kitanorth Street if you are coming from the east side of JR Chitose Line. There were many cars in the parking lot, so I thought it might be crowded, but the first floor was empty. This time, I used the second floor, which was not too crowded probably due to the large number of seats. I sat at a 4-person table, and tried to order using mobile but Mac Cafe by Barista menu was not available. So, I went down to the first floor to order. Initially, it was registered as "Mac Cafe by Barista Chitose Shintomi Store", but it is no longer there. The Mac Cafe by Barista menu is handled at a separate counter from the regular menu, so you order at the counter on the right side. It seemed to take some time to make, as I was given a number tag and returned to the second floor. After about 5 minutes, the staff brought it to me, and I started by eating the white part on top. The white part was whipped cream, and underneath was the cold frappe. 'Oh, it's deliciously cold!' My wife was mixing and drinking with a straw, but I wanted to eat it as a parfait, so I scooped it up with the spoon part of the straw. 'Oh, you're really trying hard, huh?' my wife laughed. Strawberries are delicious after all."

At the McDonald's Chitose Shintomi store in Chitose City, there is a cafe called "McCafe by Barista Chitose Shintomi store". I had an Oreo Cookie Roll Cake and a hot coffee (Americano, small size). The Oreo Cookie Roll Cake costs 340 yen and the hot coffee (Americano, small size) costs 230 yen, but when ordered as a set, there is a 50 yen discount, making the total 520 yen. The plate had a drawing of a bear with the message "Please enjoy your time ♡" written in chocolate by the staff. I appreciate it as an old man. The McCafe by Barista Chitose Shintomi store (McDonald's Chitose Shintomi store) opened on December 20, 2021. During my last visit, some photos were missing. "In January 2022, during my first visit to McDonald's, the flagship menu item that has maintained a stable position as the absolute flagship over the years is the Big Mac. In my twenties, the Big Mac had a high price image for me, and the variety of burgers was not as extensive as it is now, so it stood out in terms of price. However, looking at the current menu, items like the Teriyaki Mac Burger for 340 yen, Chicken Filet for 360 yen, and Ebi Filet for 390 yen are priced similarly to the Big Mac, giving a sense of value. As you may know, what sets the Big Mac apart is its two-layer bun structure. While there are double patty burgers and other variations, the Big Mac is the only one with a "bun-patty-bun-patty-bun" configuration. Despite not having particularly special ingredients compared to other burgers, its longevity in the menu lineup can be attributed to its simplicity. Will it continue to reign as the face of McDonald's for a long time to come? On the other hand, the Edamame Corn was a bit disappointing. It looked delicious in TV commercials and on the official website, but in reality, it lacked flavor, tasting like unseasoned mixed vegetables. Perhaps adding some salt would improve it. Considering cost, combining buttered corn with edamame might be a good idea. The Chitose Shintomi store, which opened in December last year, can be considered essentially a relocation of the cramped and outdated Chitose 36 store. It is a modern store with ample consideration for social distancing and barrier-free access, ample parking space, and two drive-thru lanes. It's also nice that they serve the food to your table. The McDonald's in Chitose has two stores, including one at Aeon, but as mentioned in other reviews, the Aeon store does not offer morning menu items, so you can only get muffin sandwiches here. I expect to visit more often in the future."

Miyu-chan had been interested in the review of the Mac Cafe by Barista, so I stopped by on the way to New Chitose Airport (*^^*). I ordered the "Cake Set" (580 yen) with a Marshmallow Cream Tart and my favorite Flat White drink. They asked, "Are you using the 1st or 2nd floor?" When I looked at the monitor screen, the 2nd floor seemed quite crowded, so I decided to sit on the 1st floor. I waited for 12 minutes until my order was brought to me. The cake was cute and satisfying. The Marshmallow Cream Tart had a fluffy marshmallow on top, followed by a rich ganache chocolate, bitter chocolate almond, and a graham cracker base. It was delicious! The Flat White was milky and tasty. The handsome staff member who served me was kind. The quality for the price was amazing! I need to visit another Barista soon. I'm heading to New Chitose Airport to see off my son and discovered a new McDonald's! Thanks to Miyu-chan's review, I noticed it right away. There's still some time before my flight, so I decided to stop by. The interior of the store is new and clean. It's snowing outside, so my shoes are covered in snow. The staff are working hard to mop the floor. I feel a bit sorry about that. From the Samurai Mac menu, I ordered the "Umakara Double Thick Beef Set" (740 yen) with a Coke Zero. The patties were meaty and the sweet and savory onion sauce was delicious. It wasn't spicy at all though. With two patties, it was quite filling. But for 740 yen, hmm, not sure if it's worth it. I think the breakfast deal is the best value. Oh, and speaking of which, I tried to imitate the way Kimutaku holds the burger in the commercial, but it was impossible. That burger in the commercial doesn't seem real, right? If you hold it like that, I think the sauce and lettuce would spill out and create a mess. When construction work began near the Honda car dealership on the Chuo Street in Shin-Tomi, I was wondering what was being built. To my surprise, it turned out to be a new McDonald's store. This new store will be in addition to the existing 36 Chitose store, which will be closing on November 30th. I don't usually eat at big chain restaurants like McDonald's for lunch or dinner, but I do occasionally buy their Chicken McNuggets as a snack. I was curious about the new store, especially about their breakfast menu, as the McDonald's inside the Aeon mall does not offer breakfast items. I visited the new McDonald's store on a cold day, with the temperature at -11 degrees Celsius. I arrived at 8:30 am to avoid the crowds, and was surprised to see two drive-thru lanes and a security guard due to it being a Sunday. The store was spacious, with both counter and second-floor seating available. I ordered a Sausage McMuffin set with hash browns and hot coffee, which was served quickly. The seating area had outlets for charging devices, and each table had a unique number for easy identification. I enjoyed my meal and appreciated the convenience of the McDonald's app for ordering. McDonald's has come a long way from its struggling days, and I now prefer it over other burger chains.

It seems to have relocated from the McDonald's Chitose Route 36 store, which closed at the end of last month. The store has a McCafé section, with seating available on the first and second floors. The second floor includes a play area for children, making it a good choice for families with young kids. The McCafé section offers a variety of treats like macarons and cakes. Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo of that. I had a small size Americano for 230 yen at the café and also bought a large size Potato Nugget for 500 yen to enjoy at home.
