Tanuhachi Garden is a restaurant located on the 2nd floor of a building in Sapporo's Chuo Ward. It used to be an Italian izakaya in the past. I visited based on a recommendation to try their eel skewers. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, with a mix of counter and table seating. I ordered the Akita Yamamoto Turquoise Junmai Ginjo and the Yamaguchi Kanki Junmai. Their specialty is the eel skewers, which are unique in Hokkaido. I tried a variety of skewers, including liver, tail meat, neck meat, and more. They were all delicious and served one at a time. I also tried the whale tempura, which was flavorful and not too fishy. The beef tripe simmered in ponzu sauce was also tasty and had a nice texture. Overall, I enjoyed the food and would like to visit again to try more dishes from their menu. It's a shame that smoking is allowed in the restaurant.

- Chisouya Satou otoshi (appetizer) 330 yen - Five pieces of eel skewers 2035 yen - Water eggplant sashimi 480 yen - 4th stop ❤️ Saturday 8:00 pm I still wanted to eat eel ❤️ even though I was already full ❤️ I couldn't get eel out of my head ❤️ Oh ❤️ After several failed attempts, I decided to try a skewer restaurant again ❤️❤️❤️ Yes! I got in ❤️❤️❤️ Luckily, there was one seat available ❤️ The restaurant was bright and much larger than I had imagined ❤️ The staff was extremely kind ❤️ All the eel skewers were delicious ❤️ Both my companion and I enjoyed them ❤️ The grilled eel wrapped in a spiral around the skewer was the most delicious ❤️ It may not look fancy, but it was incredibly tasty, so I had to take a picture ❤️ I was already full, but the eel skewers were just right for the 4th stop and still enjoyable ❤️ They also had a variety of other dishes ❤️ I want to go back soon ❤️ The location is on Tanukikoji 8-chome, in the Tanuhachi Garden building on the 2nd floor (the 1st floor houses Perl and Chimuwok) ❤️ It was delicious ❤️ Thank you for the meal ❤️ - Last stop, 5th place? Enjoyed a plastic cup drink at Tanukikoji Festival ❤️ Got a 100 yen beer as well ❤️ I got home around 11:00 pm that day ❤️ It was a 10-hour bar hopping adventure ❤️

I thoroughly enjoyed the eel in every way. The service was excellent and the tables were well-organized. We were able to share an eel bowl between two people and also try other dishes. It was my first time enjoying eel so much! I will definitely go back!

I visited this place because I wanted to eat eel, which is not easy to come by in Sapporo. First, I had some delicious bluefin tuna sashimi. It was amazing! I also enjoyed a dish of white asparagus and sea urchin, as well as some seasonal dishes like conger eel. Finally, I tried the eel skewers. It was a bit pricey, but the quality was worth it. I definitely want to come back again.

When I called on the same day, they said it was fully booked with only one seat left. Upon visiting the restaurant and being seated, they provided a clear introduction to the restaurant and menu. I started with the eel skewer set. The eel was cooked perfectly with a sauce that wasn't too sweet, making it a great accompaniment to drinks. They had seasonal sake available, which was enjoyable. I will definitely be coming back.

Today, I finally had the chance to visit this place for the first time since they moved. It used to be a shop mainly focused on eel skewers, but now they have a much wider variety of menu items. The eel is fresh and not smelly at all, in fact, it's very easy to eat. They have great options for someone like me who enjoys drinking alcohol. Now, let's head to the next restaurant! 🍏

In Hokkaido, there is a very rare eel skewer shop that recently relocated. The previous location was a refurbished Italian restaurant, which gives the new shop a stylish and clean atmosphere. I forgot to take a photo before devouring everything, but the sauce was delicious - not too salty, and the sansho pepper was amazing. The appetizer was also tasty, showing the attention to detail at this place. To top it off, the bone crackers were crunchy and flavorful even without any toppings. I'm glad I found this great restaurant and will definitely be going back. Thank you for the delicious meal! (-人-)

A restaurant inside Tanuhachi Garden. It was my first time visiting Tanuhachi Garden. I initially overshot and ended up on 9th street. I realized my mistake and turned back. Saw the sign for Sato. Understood that this single building is Tanuhachi Garden. Went up the wooden stairs to the 2nd floor. Was greeted by the energetic waitress, Ho-chan, and seated. Waited for my companion to arrive. Once they came, the meal began. Started with a beer. Malt's Premium, very delicious. The appetizer was a soup dish, also tasty, raising expectations. The sashimi platter had a good variety for the number of people, showing attention to detail. The sashimi pieces were small but seemed to be of good quality. Enjoyed the tempura of udo and tachi. The tachi tempura was delicious. Udo was interesting to taste with its bitterness. Since we were there, we ordered the eel skewers set (5 skewers for 1,550 yen) - Tan-zaku, Kuri-kara, Reba, Hiren, Kimo. This is the order listed on the menu, but they were served based on their readiness. It's interesting to have eel at an izakaya. I think it's better than some eel courses elsewhere. The sake was also good, but there were too many items out of stock midway. I was a bit disappointed by that. Overall, it was a good meal.

When I opened the door, I was handed a hot towel in 2 minutes. When I opened the door, I was handed a hot towel in 2 minutes. I didn't write it twice for any particular reason. Leaving that aside, when it comes to the store name... On Google local guide, it's listed as "Senmatsuya Kanesen Sato." On Retty, it's "Unagi Kushikushi Sakaba Senmatsuya Sato." On the restaurant's Facebook page, it's "Kanesen Sato." And on Facebook, it's "Senmatsuya Sato." What is the official name then? Well, it seems like a common maze to find the official name of a restaurant, but I won't delve too deep into it. It's written as "Sato" in hiragana. They bring each skewer one by one, which is nice. They offer a variety of eel skewers. Liver with sauce has a slightly bitter taste for a more mature flavor. The liver with sauce also has a bit of bitterness, but it's a good flavor. The eel fillet with sauce has a plump and delicious taste. The collar grilled with salt and wasabi is delicious. The grilled eel is crispy and nicely cooked. I really like the eel collar. Occasionally, there are hints of rice or mochi-like nuances from Sato, but there's no direct connection, yet the phrase keeps coming to mind, and the association just won't stop. Going back to the main topic, I tried other parts too, and each one was delicious. The flavor of the eel and the crispy aroma go well together, especially when paired with sake. It really hits the spot. The deliciousness lingers in your chest. This time, I had a private drink with a fellow reviewer, and the place was crowded as usual. The smoke from the grill affects the flavor of the eel a bit, which is a shame. I also tried a few more dishes as sake accompaniments, such as deep-fried whale and wagyu with ponzu sauce. They were all delicious and perfect for sake. The sake selection may run out occasionally, as shown in the picture, but I enjoyed the eel and other dishes with sake. I would definitely come back to Senmatsuya Sato to try different parts of the eel and enjoy sake. This area, including Tanuhachi Garden, has become a place I can easily visit without getting lost. Kiki - this combination seems familiar. Store Information: Senmatsuya Sato 2F, Tanuhachi Garden, 2-8-2 Minami 2-jo Nishi, Chuo-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido.

The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly, which was great! It seems to be a sake-focused restaurant, but I like wine so I was happy to see wine glasses available. The seafood skewers are famous, and I tried the eel skewer for the first time and it was delicious! It looks like they moved and reopened here, but the interior was clean and nice.

I have been frequenting the area more often, recently visiting Kanesen Satou M's west, a restaurant specializing in eel dishes that has relocated to the second floor of Tanuhachi Garden. They offer a variety of eel skewers that make great accompaniments to sake, as well as dishes like kabayaki, shirayaki, and unagi donburi. The restaurant is clean and has a comfortable atmosphere that I really enjoy. Although I didn't interact much with the staff, I felt a certain level of hospitality that made me appreciate their service. The freshly grilled eel skewers, including liver, fin, and other parts, were all delicious and served hot. While some parts had a slight bitterness, they paired well with the sake, creating a sophisticated adult taste. The eel skewers were satisfying, so I also tried the hamo and matsutake mushroom tempura, which were both excellent. To finish off, I had a glass of Tochigi's Nanamizu Kabayaki, which paired perfectly with the eel kabayaki served on a plate. The sesame and other condiments added extra flavor, and wrapping it in seaweed made it even more delicious. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed sampling the different parts of the eel. It was a bit pricey, but the combination of eel and sake was so good that I plan to return for another round in the future. It was a truly delicious experience!

I came to @chimatsuyasato #Chimatsuya Sato and found an amazing restaurant that I don't want to tell anyone about. Everything is delicious, especially the variety of eel skewers. My wife can't eat eel, but she was impressed by the tasty Japanese sake, potato salad, pickled wasabi leaves, and bone senbei. The fried shrimp and taro were also delicious. Next time, I'll try the eel bowl first. I tried "jabara sake" for the first time and it was incredibly delicious. Overall, I was impressed by the food after a long time. Make sure to make a reservation before you go!

The photo is of grilled eel. It is wrapped with seaweed along with condiments. It's good, but I personally found the plain grilled eel I had before to be more delicious.

This is the only place in Sapporo with a unique taste of eel skewers! The eel skewers are delicious no matter what you order! They also have a wide variety of drinks, including many types of Japanese sake. This is a must-visit restaurant!
