Today is my personal day off on Monday. The weather is nice and humid, so I'm thinking of going out to eat ramen. The place is at Tahei Station, which is three stops from my local station, but I'm not good at getting off at a new station and walking from there (laughs). Plus, there are no prominent landmarks in the residential area, so I'll be relying on NAVITIME again today (laughs). Well, it used to be a field or rice paddy that was turned into a residential area, so the roads are straightforward and easy to follow, but still, it's a bit tricky for me.
I arrived at the restaurant ten minutes before the opening time of 11:00. There was already a woman sitting on the bench in front of the store, waiting for it to open. I tried to sit down too, but it was too hot with the hot air blowing from the air conditioner unit outside? As the opening time approached, a man accompanying the woman appeared, but for some reason, the older man who came after them didn't line up and started playing with his smartphone in front of the shutter. Even though other customers who arrived later were lining up behind me. When the shutter opened, the smartphone man went straight into the store without waiting in line... I wonder who he is?
I sat at the counter and ordered the "White Shoyu Ramen for 800 yen" and "Small Rice for 100 yen." There were already three customers ahead of me, but the ramen was served in about 15 minutes. It looked really good, with a transparent golden broth and toppings like chashu, menma, mitsuba, fu, seaweed, and green onions. The rice was a bit soft but freshly cooked. The clear broth had a good balance of chicken bone and soy sauce flavors, slightly salty but delicious. The medium-thin curly noodles were firm and tasty, complementing the broth well. The fu soaked in the soup was incredibly delicious. The refreshing yet flavorful broth with a hint of sweetness from the white soy sauce was delightful. The meaty chashu with a subtle taste was quite satisfying. It was nice to find a hidden chicken meatball at the bottom. The broth was so delicious that I wanted to drink it all. The overall balance of the mild broth with no overpowering toppings was perfect.
By the way, there was a notice that they will be closed for a temporary period from July 11th to 20th as they will be participating in a department store event in Nagoya. I think I want to try their "Nama Shoyu Ramen" next time (laughs). Thank you for the meal.
