Tokachi Livestock Market Cafeteria
I had always wanted to try this cafeteria and finally had the chance to do so. The opening hours are unclear, but probably around 10:00 when the auctions start. As I entered, I noticed a lot of bento boxes stacked up. The kitchen area was busy with several staff members. The menu offered soba and udon noodles, rice bowls, and set meals at quite high prices. I ordered tempura soba for 680 yen and was called in about 4 minutes. The tempura was quite generous, with additional fried egg on top. The soba noodles were soft and the broth was slightly light. The temperature was just right. The set meals were priced at 1,000 yen, including pork bowl, fried rice, and curry. It seemed like a good deal. Some customers were just there to buy bento boxes. This cafeteria is an essential place for those involved in the market. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.
