Last month, I couldn't get in because it was fully booked. But this time, I went around 8:30 pm and it was empty. There was only one couple inside and one outside. The mama-san welcomed me and I sat at a table near the entrance. I ordered a Three Peaks whiskey on the rocks and decided to try the recommended dishes - fresh squid and raw tuna. The appetizers were boiled edamame, bell peppers, carrots, and fried tofu. Soon, a new customer arrived, a regular who is a scuba diver. We had a great time talking about delicious food in Hakodate. Then, a beautiful lady who looked like Moa Honda joined us. We had a lively conversation and ordered grilled Atka mackerel. The sashimi was amazing, especially the squid and tuna. I forgot to order vegetables, but I wish I had asked for some mushrooms. The grilled mackerel was tender and flavorful. The drinks were good, and the conversations with the mama-san and other customers were enjoyable. I hope the restaurant continues to do well, but not too busy that I can't get in. Thank you for the meal.

I don't want to share too much, but this place is delicious, cheap, and has great service! A must-visit when in Hakodate! It was so crowded that we had to try three times before finally getting in. Even though it was a Sunday, it was packed. The female owner is friendly and attentive to everyone even though she is busy cooking. I definitely want to support this place! Will visit again.

It was a small robatayaki restaurant with a counter inside a narrow alley. The menu mainly consisted of grilled dishes that go well with sake, and it seemed to cater to tourists. All the staff, including the mama-san, were women. If you are a tourist, you may want to ask for sightseeing recommendations in Hakodate city.

Located about a 6-minute walk from JR Hakodate Station, in Odori Yokocho. Arrived at 17:10 on a weekday with one group of customers already there. There are only 8 seats at the counter. The daikon and bamboo shoot simmered dish served as an appetizer was delicious. A restaurant with delicious appetizers is always a good choice! What we had (for 2 people): - Squid: Not live, but Hakodate squid is delicious! Served with ginger. - Dried Atka mackerel: "You can eat the skin too," the staff explained. The flesh was delicious, but the skin was especially tasty. Goes well with sake! - Grilled asparagus: Recommended by the staff, and it was juicy and delicious. - Bottled beer (Sapporo Classic) x2: I love this brand because it's available in Hokkaido. My favorite brand is Sapporo, and Classic is my favorite! - Sake (Hakodate Bugyo) - Grapefruit Highball - Lemon Highball There were two women dining that day, and the staff engaged in pleasant conversation with us. The food served with drinks was all excellent! There were many other dishes we wanted to try, but since it's a popular spot, we'll leave it at that for now. I will definitely visit again when I come to Hakodate!

In a small alleyway izakaya, with about 8 seats, everyone is friendly and kind to each other, with a local friendliness unique to a place outside of Tokyo. The drinks are great value for money, and all the food goes well with alcohol. The carefully selected local ingredients, such as grilled asparagus, potato with butter, kelp, and mentaiko, are all so delicious that it's truly impressive.

We called around 5:00 PM, made a reservation for 5:30 PM, and visited the restaurant. There was only one local customer when we arrived. After that, three salarymen and a couple took our place. The counter seats had a calming atmosphere, and we enjoyed our beer with the complimentary herring. We ordered fresh clams, grilled cherry salmon, and fried tofu stuffed with natto. We also tried a glass of sake from Hakodate. We left soon after as we were bar hopping, but we were very satisfied with the friendly service from the staff.

I had checked in advance that "Robata Daibou" has a counter with 7 seats and is quite small, but I noticed that there were exactly 2 empty seats and decided to enter. We were served appetizers such as fried tofu and senmaizuke. I had a great time chatting with customers from Tokyo, Nagoya, and Saitama. We even shared dishes like Hokke and North Pacific giant octopus with each other. The Hokke was delicious, and they even seared the skin to make it crispy after we finished eating the meat. It was a great service! By the time we reached the fourth restaurant, we were already full. I hope to visit this place as the first stop next time and try more dishes. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Hakodate Daimon Yokochonan Kayabe's net master directly managed ☆ Fresh seafood and homemade overnight dried fish popular charcoal-grilled restaurant with only 8 counter seats. It's always almost full since opening, so getting a seat depends on luck. The previous customer squeezed in and I barely managed to sit down, grateful for the courtesy (^人^). The alcohol is... warm because it's too cold outside, so I had a "shochu with hot water" to warm up. The appetizer was a soup with minced sardine balls, with a gentle salty taste and the richness of sardine fat was good! It was comforting (´ω`). The dishes are limited to a few carefully selected seasonal seafood dishes and homemade pickled mackerel (750 yen) with a moderate amount of fat and no acidity, which was quite delicious and ranked high on my personal list. The grilled fresh octopus (600 yen) was fragrant with charcoal grilling, tender without being overcooked, and didn't need mayonnaise thanks to the saltiness of the sea. Although my stomach was full, I was curious about the mysterious "Chunchun" and ordered it for 800 yen. Its true identity was "Umazurahagi," and after researching, it did look like a horse face haha. The sashimi had no particular taste, but when dipped generously in soy sauce with plenty of liver, it was exquisite! Delicious (๑°ㅁ°๑)✧ The addictive taste of the liver makes me want more, but it's time to go home soon. If I go to Hakodate again, I will definitely come back! Thank you for the meal (^ω^)

I ate grilled fresh squid with octopus and baked lord potato with butter. I also had a side dish of komatsuna and aburaage in broth, and drank shochu mixed with green tea. The squid had a good texture and the grilled octopus had a chewy texture with a firm suction cup feeling. The lord potato was crispy on the outside and had a soft and sweet taste on the inside. The fresh salted fish was also excellent. The cucumber and cabbage pickles served as a service were refreshing with a slightly sweet taste. Everything I ate was delicious.

During my trip to Hakodate, I visited a small restaurant after checking its reviews on Tabelog. It had only a counter and luckily we were able to get in as a party of two. We ordered by looking at the menu written on the wall. The squid sashimi with herring roe was flavorful and perfect as a side dish for drinks. We also tried grilled fish and sashimi, which were all delicious. The kelp dish seemed a bit pricey, but it might be just right as a drinking snack. It seems that if you don't go early, they might run out of sashimi and recommended dishes. The taste and atmosphere were good, and I would like to visit this restaurant again when I'm in Hakodate. I ordered squid sashimi with buttered mashed potatoes (served with salted fish guts). I wanted to have grilled fish at the hearth, but I didn't have much time and it seemed like a large portion, so I decided not to order it. I ordered live squid for the sashimi, but they didn't have any, so it ended up being regular sashimi. The buttered mashed potatoes made with male potatoes were delicious and fluffy.

Today I visited this restaurant. The reviews were good, so I made a reservation and was able to get a seat right after they opened. The restaurant only has a counter, but it was bustling with regular customers. The appetizer was a large pile of big clams with a simple salt flavor, fresh and meaty without any unpleasant bitterness or odor, truly a treat. I enjoyed the recommended sake from the owner while ordering sashimi of Spanish mackerel and grilled salted saury. The Spanish mackerel sashimi was rich and delicious. Fresh seafood in Hakodate is truly wonderful. The saury was fatty and crispy on the outside, juicy and delicious on the inside. You can even eat the bones. The octopus sashimi had large suckers and a chewy texture. Next, I ordered seasonal asparagus. The two asparagus spears grilled over charcoal were very juicy, with tender skin and easy to eat. They were cut into bite-sized pieces, making them easy to eat. The seaweed grilled dish had a strong aroma of the sea, a surprising dish. Finally, I finished with rice balls. The rice balls, moist with a good amount of salt, were delicious with the soft rock seaweed. Everything was delicious without any misses. The friendly atmosphere where customers chatted was also nice. I was very satisfied with the delicious sake and food while experiencing the warmth of Hakodate. It was surprisingly cost-effective to have all this food for less than 5000 yen. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant because it was delicious when I went last year. Yesterday, the menu was limited due to the rough sea. I ordered marinated squid and local sake from Hakodate. The marinated squid tasted a bit too strong for my liking. However, the seared mackerel was incredibly delicious and satisfying.

The shop in Daimon Yokocho was full inside, so we sat at an outside table and cheers with Sapporo Classic beer. Beer tastes even better outside, so it was a good choice to sit outside. The fresh squid was amazing! Especially the innards were delicious. The scallops, hokke fish, and kelp were also tasty. Thank you for the delicious meal!

The atmosphere at Daikado Yokocho was quiet and deserted. Despite being a highly rated restaurant on Tabelog, there were few customers. I visited with my junior colleague for our last business trip dinner and we sat at the counter, toasting with drinks. We enjoyed dishes like squid sashimi, tarako yaki, and boiled soybeans with sake. The food, managed by a reputable fishmonger, was delicious. I hope they continue to do their best and persevere through the challenges posed by the coronavirus.

When you come to Hakodate, I usually make a stop at this place. I come to Hakodate mainly to eat fresh squid, so it's a must to have some squid. The squid here, with roe included, is only 750 yen. Even the cheapest live squid usually costs around 1200 yen, so getting it for 750 yen is a great deal. Although it wasn't specified on the menu, it might not be live squid, but with the roe included at this price, it's definitely worth it. In the past, they also had bluefin tuna and button shrimp on the menu, but they only serve them when they are available, so it seems they didn't have them that day. They also have a good selection of local Japanese sake, which is a big plus. Overall, it's a great place to enjoy good quality food at a reasonable price.
