Special occasions call for a special meal, and high-quality yakiniku is just perfect for such days. I love yakiniku so much that I never miss out on it, even when I'm in Okinawa. In Sapporo, I think this place, Gurmanzu Ito, is the best. The prices are a bit higher than regular restaurants, with regular loin costing 1,000 yen and kalbi costing 1,200 yen. It can be quite difficult to make a reservation at this popular restaurant. Before 9 pm, it's extremely hard to get a reservation, and after 9 pm, it becomes easier as the customers change. However, it gets difficult to reserve again around 10 pm. The best time to aim for is around 9 pm. The atmosphere is calm and the murmurs of people around the roaster are just right, not too quiet or too noisy, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. One of the highlights of this place is watching them cut and prepare the meat right in front of you from the showcase. However, this can only be seen from the counter seats, so it's not suitable for pairs. Groups of three or more will be seated at a table as the standard. [Premium Loin - 2,200 yen] The loin here is not the lean type you might imagine, but rather a loin that allows you to enjoy the flavor of the marbled fat. In other restaurants, this might be called premium kalbi. The meat is of high quality, with a moist and sweet fat. It doesn't melt in your mouth but has a firm texture with a soft finish. This meat is best cooked slowly over a slightly lower heat. [Premium Kalbi - 2,200 yen] Unlike the premium loin, the premium kalbi comes with "grilled vegetables," which vary depending on the day. Perhaps it serves as a palate cleanser after enjoying the richness of the fat. This meat is best cooked slowly over low heat as well. The dipping sauce here is slightly lighter in taste compared to regular yakiniku restaurants. It's refreshing and allows the meat's flavor, especially the rich fat, to stand out. Delicious. [Wagyu Mino - 1,200 yen] The miso is slightly spicy, and the aroma of sesame oil is wonderfully fragrant. This is a recommended dish. Cook it slowly until a light char forms on the surface and enjoy it quickly. That's the key. It's a dish that fans of Mino will love. I usually add [Wagyu tongue - 3,300 yen] to this lineup, but unfortunately, it was sold out today. What a shame! The pace of eating yakiniku here is a bit slower than usual, allowing for a more leisurely and thorough dining experience. (Conversation might be an important part of the menu as well.) So, in a sense, it might end up being cheaper than usual. The finishing touch is the "yomogi tea." It has a unique aroma and tastes great. It's a perfect cup to refresh your tired tongue after indulging in the richness of the fat. Enjoying high-quality meat in a stylish space, with attentive service, and savoring it slowly. That's the kind of luxury you can experience at this restaurant. It was delicious again today. Thank you for the meal.
