I visited Rokkatei Tsurumibashi store! This store offers a morning service, which I think Rokkatei Garden in Obihiro also has. I haven't eaten inside a Rokkatei store before, so today was my first experience. I arrived 15 minutes before opening and did some stretching exercises before going in. Even though it was still 5 minutes before opening, other customers entered smoothly, so I followed suit. The morning service menu was towards the back, with mostly light snacks. I wanted to try pasta but it's only available from 11am, so I'll have to come back another time. I ordered the cuppe (potato salad) for 350 yen and a morning coffee for 120 yen. Payment is done after eating. The coffee is self-serve, so you pour it yourself from the pot. There was some explanation but I didn't quite catch it. I think if you have a card, you can get free refills...or something like that? I only had one cup. After a 5-minute wait, the bread arrived, with potato salad inside. It was delicious, with soft bread and tasty bacon bits. The coffee was decent, nothing special. However, it was a bit confusing to order. The menu placement, ordering process, and lack of staff guidance made it challenging. The staff seemed to be multitasking a lot, so it's understandable. Without their help, it could be tough. After finishing my meal, I returned the tray and paid. If you're used to other stores, the morning service here might be a bit confusing. Overall, it was a unique experience.

This time during my trip to Kushiro and Obihiro, we arrived in Kushiro in the early afternoon. We had planned to eat Kattedon at Washo Market, but since there is a cafe at Rokkatei in Kushiro, which is likely to be less crowded than in Obihiro, we decided to have lunch there instead. My friend ordered curry for 1,300 yen, while I had asparagus pizza for 1,100 yen. As a dessert, I also ordered hotcakes for 750 yen. We also had iced coffee and iced café au lait for 450 yen each. I later realized that there was a refillable hot coffee for only 120 yen. I made a little mistake there. Although the menu options were limited, the wait after ordering was quite long. To pass the time, I checked out the products inside the store. There was a new version of butter cake available, so I had to buy it. The strawberry shortcake also looked delicious. The pizza had a tasty bread base and toppings, but my friend found the curry too spicy to eat, so we had it changed. They had asked if it was okay with the spiciness when we ordered, but it's hard to compare the level of spiciness. It would be nice if there was a standardized spiciness level. I had no problem finishing the curry, but it was indeed spicy. It had plenty of meat in it, giving it a satisfying taste. The hotcakes served as a dessert were fluffy and a nice change from the pancake trend. The high ceiling and natural light coming in made the atmosphere bright and open. It's enviable that the local residents can enjoy coffee for just 120 yen in such a lovely space. Overall, our first meal in Kushiro was very satisfying.

Snow Cheese - 250 yen
Pudding a la mode - 387 yen
Coffee - 120 yen
There is a cafe attached to the Rokkatei store. It is not a full-fledged cafe, but rather casual with a self-service style. You have to get your own coffee. The sweets have a nostalgic, old-fashioned taste and are reasonably priced. The flavors are quite simple, but in a good way. However, the coffee seemed too strong for my companion's taste.

[Visit date: Early November 2022] Visited around 4:00 p.m. on a holiday, with a rating of 3.07 at the time of visit. After eating sushi at Nagoyakatei Showa store, I decided to have tea until the bus time. I found out that a cafe is attached to the famous Rokkatei store known for its Marseille butter sandwich. The store is spacious with large windows, making it look even bigger. Half of the store is a sales area and the other half is a cafe. When I visited, it was full so I had to wait a bit. Last order was at 4:00 p.m., but I was seated when a table became available. Orders are placed at the cafe counter. Below are the items I ordered:
- Pudding Cake (¥500 tax included): Since the pumpkin cake I was interested in was sold out, I ordered this. The pudding was firm and went well with the whipped cream around it, and also paired nicely with coffee.
- Coffee (¥120 tax included): Hot coffee. The price is cheap and you can have refills on your own, which was a pleasant surprise.
I paid at the time of leaving using electronic money. I brought the empty dishes to the kitchen area myself. This cafe is not only here but also exists throughout Hokkaido, so if you have one nearby, I recommend giving it a try. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the cafe around 2 pm on a weekday in October 2022. There were 5 groups of customers before me and 2 groups after me. I was there for my dog's grooming, so I could relax and enjoy some time at Rokkatei after a long time. I was a bit confused about the cafe system since it had been a while. The staff informed me that the snacks sold in the shop could be eaten in the cafe, and they would serve them on a plate. You can also pay for them at the cafe counter. I ordered "Strawberry Milk," "Yukinko Cheese," and "Oshiruko" for my companion, and we waited at our table. It took about 10 minutes for our orders to arrive. The Strawberry Milk was made with real strawberries, and it was good, though I personally prefer the one from a certain popular chain. The Yukinko Cheese was a chocolate cookie with cream cheese filling, and it was decent but nothing extraordinary. I wished I had tried the Hayashi Rice instead. On my way out, I bought some potato chips from Rokkatei, and they turned out to be the best part of my visit.

I carefully stored the Rokka no Mori chocolate that I bought when I went home until Valentine's Day. It's delicious, cute, and I love it! I prioritized my desire to eat it over wanting to give it as a gift to someone else, haha.

▼Location▼
Located on the southwest corner of the intersection of Ootetsu Line Street and Shin-Kushiro River Right Bank Street.
▼About the Shop▼
Rokkatei - Established in 1933. Originally a branch of Sapporo Senkyu-an, it was renamed to Rokkatei in 1977. The Marseille Butter Sand, created to commemorate the name change, became a huge hit product, expanding its sales to Chitose Airport and department stores in Hokkaido, making it a nationally recognized confectionery maker.
▼Menu▼
Offers a variety of popular items such as the Marseille Butter Sand, various sweets, and cakes. The café also serves drinks, sweets, pizzas, and hashed beef rice.
▼Items Tried▼
▽Goyosha Dorayaki - 140 yen
Limited quantity dorayaki with a shelf life only for the day. The moist and fluffy texture of the batter has a delicate sweetness. The red bean paste inside is made with whole azuki beans, maintaining a refined sweetness and creating a high-quality and delicious dorayaki.
▽Marseille Butter Sand (4 pieces) - 520 yen
A signature product of Rokkatei. A long-selling item made with a moist biscuit dough, white chocolate, raisins, and Hokkaido-produced 100% butter cream. The flavorful cream sandwiched between moist dough creates the perfect confection.
▼Impressions▼
The Marseille Butter Sand, created to commemorate the name change of Rokkatei, has become a hit product, establishing the brand as a leading confectionery maker in Hokkaido. With stores in large commercial facilities and roadside locations offering café services, the chain has a wide presence in Hokkaido. The Tsurumi Hashi store is a roadside shop with both sales and a café. The popular Marseille Butter Sand has a consistently delicious taste, while the Goyosha Dorayaki I tried after a long time was also delicious with its fluffy batter and red bean paste. Visiting Rokkatei again after a while, I was reminded of the deliciousness of their confections and reaffirmed that it is a great shop.

At Rokkatei's directly operated store, they sell cakes. You can also eat inside the store, but this time I bought the cake and ate it at my accommodation. This shortcake costs 250 yen. The fresh cream is incredibly delicious. It's cheap and delicious, so I really recommend it.

When you think of the area near Tsurumi Bridge, you might think of Starbucks, right? But actually, there's Rokkatei, which has been there since a long time ago. It's right across from Starbucks. The entrance is a bit hard to find with a median strip in the middle, so I haven't visited much. Also, the cafe space is small and the menu is limited, so if I want to go to a cafe, I usually go to Harusai. However, on this day, I had just eaten ramen nearby and wanted a little treat. Just like Starbucks, you can see the Shin-Kushiro River from here, which is nice. The cafe space with a view of the river is nice, but on this day, I bought some Yukiya Konkon's fresh type that you can only get at the store. I enjoyed it in the car right away. It's a crispy cookie with a thick layer of rare cheese in the middle. The rich rare cheese goes so well with the crispy cocoa cookie. I recommend eating it fresh. Rokkatei is delicious as always. Thank you for the meal.

I came here thinking of having some cake. The first thing I noticed was that there is a café space in the back and a limited selection of cakes. I don't usually buy or eat cakes, so I wonder if this is normal here. My partner chose a pink one with strawberries (lol), I forgot the name. I had a Chocolate Mont Blanc? The Mont Blanc was not too sweet and the Mont Blanc flavor was a bit weak. The taste of the chocolate sponge was strong. My partner's cake had a good balance of strawberry acidity and sweetness, and she said it was delicious. Well, it's my partner's birthday. She's happy, so it's all good! Thanks for the meal.

Rokkatei Tsurumi Hashi store is located across the road from Starbucks Tsurumi Hashi store! We visited both together! Since it's the New Year season when families gather, we wanted to bring a gift! When we tried to buy tea sweets, we were surprised by how cheap the cakes were! Is this normal in Hokkaido? Shortcake for 250 yen, chocolate cake for 240 yen, and cheesecake for 260 yen. Lately, it's been common for cakes to cost around 400 to 500 yen per slice, so this was a shock! And they were of Rokkatei quality! They were incredibly delicious! (By the way, I'm currently into orange and chocolate, so I got the "Orange Chocolat.")

I had the Tokachi rice bowl set for lunch. The meal had a small amount of meat mixed in with the side dishes, but overall it was not heavy on the main dishes. It had a satisfying flavor that filled me up without being too bland, and it left me feeling like I had eaten something really good for my body. I am very satisfied.

Five mom friends went to Rokkatei for a snack at 3 o'clock. If you order something, you can have unlimited free coffee refills, I think. On this day, it was a warm day in Kushiro, so I felt like eating soft serve ice cream. Then I saw the words "Shiratama Zenzai Parfait" and thought it looked delicious! So, I decided to order it. The price was 580 yen. Looking back now, it was a bit expensive. When was the last time I had Shiratama? It was delicious! But as always, sweet things are super tasty at the first bite and then become too sweet towards the end. But I finished it all. Thank you for the meal!

《Food》Hayashi Rice 700 yen Margherita Pizza 750 yen I may have gotten the prices mixed up... I forgot...《Impressions》I finally got to visit Rokkatei's cafe that I've been curious about for a while! It's always bustling with people, isn't it? The Hayashi Rice had small pieces of various ingredients like onions, bamboo shoots?, and meat. I'm not really sure about retort food, but it tasted surprisingly good. Probably retort, though! The Margherita Pizza had a crispy crust with rich cheese. The acidity of the tomato sauce was strong and it took me by surprise! It felt really authentic, didn't it? (laughs) It was delicious. Both dishes were just the right size! There were also various desserts that I'd like to try. I'm looking forward to going there for tea next time!

Rokkatei is famous for their butter sandwiches. They have a cafe space, cakes, and even sweet bean mochi. The sweet bean mochi has thick skin and the bean paste inside is a bit dry, so it's not my favorite. The Snowkon Cheese, a baked cheese sandwiched between cocoa cookies, has a light cheese flavor which might be good for those who don't like strong cheese. However, for those who prefer rich flavors, it may be a bit lacking. The cafe space offers free coffee, which is a nice service. It's no wonder they are a well-known confectionery nationwide.

I'm in Kushiro! I'm alone! I have to pretend to be a local because if they find out it's me, I'll get beaten up. I can't tell you what a Kushiro person is like, as soon as I do, missiles will start flying... I haven't had soft serve ice cream. When I checked my notes, the only option was "Rokkatei". When I arrived, it was a popular place. The exterior and interior are both impressive. It's more of a cafe than a sweets shop. I ordered a "Soft Serve Ice Cream for 300 yen". I received it, sat at a table, ate it, and then paid at the register. It's a good deal for 300 yen, with "Yukiya Konko" on top. The lovely waitress had a natural smile. I can't do that, smiles are something you make. So I don't come off as natural. I sat at a table, but it wasn't very comfortable next to the lady. I took a photo and quickly left. I ate it in the car, and it was very rich. The spoon almost broke trying to scoop it up. It's exaggerating, of course it didn't break, but the taste was really rich. It was so delicious that I couldn't help but say, "Wow, this is good." No one heard me, I looked around but I was in the car... I ate it all. Even though it was after lunch. I ate it all? Unbelievable.

This is a place in Kushiro City, located in Showa 2-chome along the Ohtetsu line near Tsurumi Bridge on the right bank. It's best to confirm the exact location on the map on Tabelog as usual. After my companion had ramen and expressed a desire for ice cream, we headed to a shop only to find it closed for Obon holidays. We then visited this shop, which is open year-round. We parked the car, entered the shop, and ordered the "Yukiyakonko" at the register before waiting outside. The ice cream arrived in 2-3 minutes. We took a customary photo outside, then enjoyed the cookie part of the Yukiyakonko before eating the soft serve with a spoon. The soft serve was moderately sweet, smooth, and relatively high in milk fat content, giving it a slightly rich flavor. The soft serve was quite soft and melted easily, making it difficult to serve in a cone.
