The only Starbucks in Kushiro city is the 'Kushiro Tsurumi Bridge Store,' which is designated as a regional landmark store located at the easternmost point in Japan. It is surprising that it is open from 7 am to 11 pm, which is extremely long compared to nearby stores! It is located on the corner of the intersection along the New Kushiro River, with a stylish exterior that stands out. The parking lot is spacious and there is a drive-thru, making it a very convenient Starbucks. There were seats on both the first and second floors, but most people, including myself, chose to sit on the second floor to enjoy the view. There is also a terrace seat, which is very pleasant. For breakfast, the Spinach Corn & Soy Patty English Muffin and Matcha Tea Latte (hot) are perfect choices to enjoy a luxurious morning time. The rich matcha flavor in the Matcha Tea Latte is delightful, and the English Muffin with whole wheat flour, a chewy texture, healthy soy patty, and a cream with spinach and corn is a luxurious treat.

Today's coffee is from Starbucks Coffee Kushiro Tsurumi Bridge Store in Kushiro City, Hokkaido. Starbucks Coffee has "Starbucks Regional Landmark Stores" which are designed to symbolize various regions in Japan and showcase local culture to the world. There are about 28 of these stores across Japan. I visited the store in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture in April, which is the northernmost store on Honshu. The easternmost store in Japan is located in Kushiro City, Hokkaido, along the Shin-Kushiro River. I visited this store as it is a rare opportunity. Honestly, it was located in a rather unremarkable place. Despite being along the Shin-Kushiro River, I couldn't quite figure out what made it a symbol of the region. Upon checking their website, it seems that being the "easternmost point of Japan" is what makes it a landmark. I'm not entirely convinced...

I arrived at the store around 8 pm on April 2023♪ There was one group of customers before me and one group after me. In the past, during the chubby () era, I used to enjoy Starbucks frappuccinos about 5 times a week. Since starting my diet and lifestyle correction (), I have rarely gone, but this time I really wanted to drink one regardless of the time of day, so it's my first visit in a few months! I ordered a [Vanilla Cream Frappuccino] with breve milk, chocolate sauce, chocolate chips, extra syrup, extra whipped cream, and white mocha instead of the regular mocha. It's like a magical incantation of a frappuccino that I always customize and it's so good! I actually wanted to drink the Snoopy Frappuccino that I had last time, but it's already sold out... It looks quite sweet, but surprisingly it's not too sweet and really delicious! I've only ever done takeout at the Tsurumi store, and I've never been upstairs, so next time I want to sit and enjoy my drink on the second floor! Drinking a frappuccino in the cold April night in Kushiro is still a bit chilly, but it's so good ( ºωº )...

It's morning in Kushiro. I visited a Starbucks that I had seen last time I was in Kushiro. The place was empty, unlike in Sapporo where there are always long lines at Starbucks. I had a decaf Americano and a root vegetable chicken salad wrap, while my friend had a Starbucks latte and a ham and maribou cheese focaccia. The coffee was Sumatra, well-balanced with bitterness and acidity. The salad wrap was full of vegetables and the chicken was lean and healthy. The total cost for both of us was 1721 yen, which made me think we should have gone to a cheaper place like Don Quijote for breakfast. This is the only place in Eastern Hokkaido that serves Nitro coffee♪ I'm not exactly sure what Nitro is, but it was interesting to watch as the coffee was poured quietly from what looked like a beer tap, creating a rich and heavy iced coffee in the glass. While Starbucks coffee can be found anywhere in the country, this particular store overlooking the Tokachi River offers a fantastic view from the second floor. It's not just a Starbucks, but a lovely space worth a visit!

I am in Kushiro. I rented a car at the station and came here right away to visit the Starbucks Regional Landmark Store. It's about a 10-minute drive from the station. They have a drive-thru, but I wanted to see the inside of the store, so I parked in the parking lot and bought an iced coffee. The interior of the store is spacious and has a calm atmosphere. It truly feels like a Regional Landmark Store. The iced coffee was delicious as always.

First, I had a seafood bowl and still had some time. I felt like having a coffee, so I looked it up and found a Starbucks nearby. I asked the seafood bowl restaurant to call a taxi for me, and I took the taxi to Starbucks. However, it was quite far and cost me about 1600 yen for the taxi ride. I don't usually go to Starbucks in Kyoto or Osaka, but I thought I'd give it a try in the countryside. The second floor was spacious and had a nice view, so I sat at a window seat with my coffee and sweet potato bar. I initially sat at a window seat, but then I saw that the counter seat in the middle had a phone charger, so I moved there. They also had Wi-Fi, so I spent quite a long time there, sending videos and posting online. Then I asked for a taxi again to do my final shopping at the Washo Market near Kushiro Station. I can't remember how much the taxi ride cost. I thought it was close when I looked at the map, but Hokkaido is really big, after all. In Kushiro, I ended up spending about 4000 yen on taxi rides.

Summer has also arrived in Kushiro! The sky is clear with not a single cloud, and the temperature is rising since the morning. On a day like this, let's have breakfast outside! I came to Starbucks along the Tsurumi Bridge. I ordered Ham & Maribor Cheese Stone Oven Filone for ¥462 and Drip Coffee (T) for ¥363. My partner ordered Arabiki Sausage & Scrambled Egg English Muffin for ¥418 and Drip Coffee (S) for ¥319. This Starbucks is a Regional Landmark Store, a special store within Starbucks. It is said to be the store closest to Seattle, incorporating the essence of connection with Seattle into its store design. The second-floor terrace overlooking the New Kushiro River is a special seat. The morning sun feels great. The Filone is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It may feel lacking when eaten alone, but when combined with the smoky ham and melted Maribor cheese, it enhances the ingredients and brings out the deliciousness of the bread itself. A simple drip coffee is the best choice for this. Starbucks' strong and bitter coffee resets the rich ham and cheese flavor, making each bite feel fresh. The contrast of the green riverside and the blue sky is refreshing, and eating on the sunny terrace makes you feel uplifted. The scenery and atmosphere of this store add to the deliciousness, making it even better. My partner was also satisfied with the muffin and the view. It was a great morning.

I tried jumping on the bandwagon with the local Frappuccino. It's made with Hokkaido corn and available for takeout. It has a nice bitterness that lingers in the mouth without any acidity, and a deep flavor. It's not often you get to enjoy coffee while looking at the new Kushiro River. It was a luxurious time. I've been to Starbucks locations all over the country, but this one has the best location. This time, I enjoyed the summer view of the Kushiro River, but it seems like it would be fun to see the changes in each season. It's a luxurious location that can only be found in the countryside. I spent about an hour relaxing here. There was a bicycle parked at the entrance that seemed to have traveled around Japan, which made me envious. This Starbucks had two floors and was quite spacious.
