Oh, the father-daughter Hokkaido tour of Rina started with Genghis Khan, but of course, next is dessert. When asked, "Shall we go to a place where melons are delicious?" the eldest daughter, while saying "Yes! Yes!" also expressed her desire to eat the "lavender soft serve" that she had last year during her father's visit to Hokkaido. Well, since the melon shop and the soft serve shop were right next to each other, we decided to start with melons first... On a Friday afternoon, when I thought the sunflowers were already gone, as soon as we entered the park, the sunflower field caught our eye. The daughters exclaimed, "Wow, it's beautiful!" but being foodies like their dad, they headed straight for the melon sales area. There were quite a few tourists around, and we had to wait in line for about 5-6 groups to place our order. The three of them were debating whether to just get "cut melon" or "greedy melon," but before we knew it, we were already at the register. I wish they had given us a little more time to decide... After this, we immediately thought about eating soft serve, so we restrained ourselves! We ordered two cut melons (300 yen each) and, being a little greedy, I ordered one red and blue cut melon (500 yen). As I savored the red melon, I thought to myself, "Hokkaido really is known for its red-fleshed melons, right?" and I couldn't help but exclaim, "Mmm, it's delicious!" as I stuffed my mouth with melon, making my pronunciation sound funny, much to the amusement of my daughters. ^^ The red-fleshed melon I had next was more ripe and delicious than the typical green one. After quickly finishing our melons, I gave each of my daughters a piece of the green one, confirmed that they agreed with me, and then we took a commemorative photo in front of the sunflower field. Despite being tempted by melon bread, we headed to the neighboring "Tomita Farm" with the father-daughter trio. Perhaps it's normal or not expensive for the locals, but we, as a parent and child, were quite satisfied. Next time we come to Furano, we definitely want to eat there again. ^^/~
