Visited a handmade processed meat shop in the Enzan area in June 2021, looking for delicious corned beef to pair with wine. The shop had a wide variety of products in cases, with prices listed per bottle or per 100g, so be sure to check. The corned beef was not like the ones I knew, not in a can. It was my first time trying it and it was delicious when slightly warmed, with the melted fat being tasty. It had the true taste of meat. The Frankfurters were priced at 210 yen per piece and were used in a pot-au-feu for dinner. The skin was crispy and burst when bitten into, while the inside was soft with a mild spice flavor. It had a large size and a meaty texture. Thank you for the meal.

"I stopped by 'Noi Essen' to buy some snacks for my evening drink (*^^*). The shop specializes in ham and sausages, and they had a variety of options in the showcase that looked delicious. I couldn't decide what to buy, so I carefully examined each option. I ended up buying a small amount of the following items: - Corned beef 100g @650 yen → purchased 106g for 689 yen - Liver paste 100g @380 yen → purchased 103g for 391 yen - Frankfurter @210 yen → purchased 1 for 210 yen - Weisswurst 100g @360 yen → purchased 53g for 190 yen - Garlic sausage 100g @430 yen → purchased 73g for 313 yen On my way back, I bought a baguette and sauerkraut from Kaldis to prepare. I sautéed the sausages, and had the corned beef and paste as they were, along with the baguette. It was incredibly delicious♫ Especially the corned beef had the perfect salty flavor, completely different from store-bought ones! Although the prices felt a bit high, probably because I'm used to supermarket products, it's nice to indulge occasionally (*^^*) Next time, I'll try buying bacon and yakwurst - it was a delightful meal!! ==========="

On Sunday evening, I wanted to drink wine with a delicious sausage, so I came here. There were various hams, sausages, salamis, etc. in the showcase, many of which I had never seen before and all looked delicious. I asked the staff for sausages that would go well with alcohol and purchased Spanish Sausage for 410 yen/100g, Weisswurst for 360 yen/100g, Jagdwurst for 410 yen/100g, and Corned Beef for 650 yen/100g. I was told that the sausages could be enjoyed lightly warmed or as they are. I quickly prepared them for dinner. I lightly boiled the sausages to prevent them from bursting, and served them with grain mustard. The Corned Beef and Jagdwurst were served as they were, while the others were also grilled. Here are my thoughts on each: - Spanish Sausage: The texture of the skin, the spices, and the richness of the meat were wonderful. - Weisswurst: Soft and smooth texture that was new and enjoyable. - Jagdwurst: A well-balanced mix of saltiness, fat, and meat that was not overwhelming. - Corned Beef: Packed with rich flavor and a strong meaty taste that went well with wine. When grilled, they became juicy and the flavor intensified, transforming into a feast. All of them were delicious and went perfectly with the wine. There were many other tasty sausages that I would like to try in the future. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Overall, everything was delicious but the simplest sausage (not the ground one) and the roast ham were especially tasty. The roast ham had a nice aroma and the sweetness of the fat was delicious. The chicken wrapped in consomme jelly was also tasty. The pastrami is always sold out whenever I go. I still haven't had the chance to compare it with the hot dog.

Returned from the Kitahokkaido Garrison in July 2018 and decided to have a night in due to the intense heat. Started by going out for gelato since I had been eating out a lot lately. Bought some German sausages - Weisswurst, Jagdwurst, Frankfurter, and Garlic Sausage, as well as some corned beef. Also picked up a can of sauerkraut and a pack of anchovy potato salad on the way home. Prepared everything and lightly heated up all the sausages except for the Jagdwurst, serving them with Pommery mustard. Pommery is actually French, but it's a must-have. Switched from Heineken to wine and finished off the night with corned beef and blue cheese. Another leisurely and delicious evening - Bon appétit!

I went to buy some snacks for a wine party at Noi Essen in Maruyama. They had a variety of delicious items, so I couldn't decide what to buy and ended up ordering a bit of everything. The prices per 100g of the items I bought are as follows: - Cheese Sausage: 410 yen - Tongue Sausage: 660 yen - Spicy Corned Beef: 650 yen - Chicken Loaf: 390 yen - Soy Sauce Flavored Liver Paste: 380 yen - Smoked Chicken Liver: 490 yen The total came to about 7500 yen. The corned beef was especially delicious, and I was impressed by the smoked chicken liver. They would make great snacks to enjoy with alcohol. I highly recommend trying them out. Thank you for the delicious food!

Visited on a Saturday after 6pm, no customers before or after, faced with a middle-aged man who seemed to be the owner across the showcase, struggling to decide on items due to lack of product knowledge at this type of store. Ended up purchasing the recommended "Corned Beef" 100g, the classic "Liver Paste" 100g, as well as 2 each of "Frankfurters" and "Garlic Sausages" totaling 2,251 yen. I sautéed the Frankfurters and Garlic Sausages, they lacked the crispy skin like a Schauessen but had a smooth texture with concentrated flavor. The Garlic Sausage had a nice spicy kick. I tried the Corned Beef as is, but since I'm not familiar with it, I couldn't tell the difference from canned versions. It has a gentle saltiness and could be good in a sandwich. The Liver Paste had a slight hint of off-flavor compared to what I usually eat, but it was smooth and enjoyable. Overall, although the prices are on the higher side due to being handmade, the Liver Paste felt like a good value. I'm interested in trying out the smokier options on my next visit.

December 2016 - Once again, I didn't buy the corned beef... Instead, I got liver paste, Bavarian sausage, smoked chicken, and beef jerky in soy sauce flavor. All perfect for drinking with alcohol while watching "Pittanko Kan Kan" on TV. It's all about TV, snacks, and alcohol these days... February 2016 - I revisited and bought two Bavarian sausages and liver paste. The Bavarian sausages were made with pork, milk, and cream, resulting in a surprisingly soft texture. They were lightly seasoned with spices, simple, and elegant in flavor. While not very strong, they paired well with wine as a snack. I tried grilling them, but boiling might be better. The liver paste was affordable and delicious. It was made with fresh pork liver, offering a rich and unique flavor that paired excellently with bread and wine. December 2015 - I visited Noi Essen, a shop known for its high-quality smoked products made without preservatives. The salami, bacon, and Frankfurt sausages I ordered were all flavorful. The salami had a unique texture with a hint of fat, while the bacon was perfectly smoked and aromatic. The Frankfurt sausage was large and satisfying, with a firm skin and a balanced blend of beef and pork. All three items were great snacks, especially when paired with beer or wine. Stay tuned for the next review where I plan to try the liver paste and corned beef!

I posted about Noi Frank in Hakodate before, but I was also impressed by Noi Essen in Sapporo, so I'm posting about it as well. Since being impressed at the Tokyo, Kokuritsu store, these are the two stores I have visited in Hokkaido. They have minimal additives, so the products don't last long, but they can be shipped. There is parking space for 2-3 cars in front of the store. I think all their products such as sausages, ham, liver paste, corned beef, etc., are delicious. They are especially great for those who enjoy drinking alcohol (laughs). I like the Bologna sausage, so I buy it sliced (the larger diameter one). The balance of spices and salt is exquisite, and the flavor of the ingredients is brought out. While the gourmet sections of major department stores are also delicious, I choose Noi Essen. Since they are not mass-produced, there may be timing issues, but there is quite a variety available, so you can enjoy buying different types little by little. It may not be a main dish for a meal, but it's perfect for a small group with wine, or as an hors d'oeuvre for a large group! It will brighten up your dining table. In the end, delicious ham and sausages may be difficult to mass-produce. With the current shortage of skilled artisans, I hope that the taste of this place will continue. I came back again, and as expected, it's delicious!! The Campagne from Shinotsu Brust Yoshida is also delicious, but for the best accompaniment to wine, I think it's Noi Essen~

I tried various types of handcrafted ham and sausages at a shop called WHO, which is known for using minimal additives. The store had a wide variety of options, so I chose a few to sample: - Corn Pork Wurst (440 yen per 100g): This sausage, which is more like ham than corned beef, was very moist and flavorful. The texture included both the sausage part and the meat fibers, giving it a unique taste. - Chicken Loaf (390 yen per 100g): The jellied texture around the chicken was a bit salty, but it was decent after adjusting the seasoning. - Onion Sausage: Occasionally, you could feel the texture of the onions, adding a nice touch. - Garlic Sausage: The strong flavors of pepper and garlic made this sausage delicious. - Frankfurter: The skin was crunchy, while the inside was juicy. The hint of clove or some other spice added an interesting twist. Overall, the sausages had a distinct taste that differed from store-bought ones. They reminded me of the authentic sausages I had at Bratwurst House Kawakami in Hakone. While some may find these flavors too intense, it's definitely worth trying for those who haven't experienced them before. The store didn't provide specific cooking instructions like Bratwurst House Kawakami did, but my wife seemed to handle it fine without any guidance. It's a shame to hear that Bratwurst House Kawakami has closed down.

Welcome.---------- February 2016 ----------Along Nishi 25th Street, this place is super famous in Germany, right? I think you hear about it a lot here in Hokkaido too. Ham sausage |o| °д°)ノ|Yugachon: "Ham sausage is so delicious♪" As you enter humming, you are greeted with "Welcome♪". I thought it was a craftsman, but it's actually the owner. In front of you is a long line of processed meat with an unbelievable variety. I didn't expect there to be so many options. I haven't studied this store, so I try to imitate it. But maybe I feel a connection because we both love meat. Weisswurst. Should I try eating it at room temperature? Span♪ The knife cuts through it effortlessly. It's incredibly soft and melts smoothly with a rich, creamy taste. Despite its appearance as a sausage, the surprising texture is elegant and refined. Liver paste. Crack♪ Creamy texture with a strong taste of pork liver. Even if you like chicken, some people might find this one hard to handle. But maybe you can camouflage it with a baguette or something. Frankfurter. Crack♪ Delicate grind, but the depth of flavor that comes from it is irresistible. The fatty part is sweet and juicy, full of meaty joy that slowly creeps up on you. This is definitely something to enjoy with alcohol. If you want to try something even more delicious, it's worth stopping by. "Ham sausage is so delicious♪"

I visited a sausage shop after reading a review by a reviewer in February 2016. I love sausages, so I went to try the German white sausage "Weisswurst" the next day. In the back of the store, a craftsman (I assume the owner) was busy making something. It was hard to see clearly due to the bright reflection. The refrigerated showcase displayed sausages and hams neatly arranged. I wanted to buy everything, but I knew I couldn't eat them all. I settled for Weisswurst, Frankfurt, Jagdwurst, and corned beef. The small amount of corned beef I bought turned out to be delicious. I've tried almost all homemade corned beef in the city, but I was impressed by the perfect balance of salt that brought out the richness and flavor of the meat. I had it raw. I really liked it. I boiled the Weisswurst and Frankfurt sausages for about 10 minutes. They had a pudding-like texture and a delicious flavor, which I also enjoyed. I realized I forgot to make sauerkraut when I was about to cut them with a knife after boiling. I'll make sure to prepare it in advance next time. They also cut the Jagdwurst into 12 slices of 100g each, so I sautéed half of them and had the rest raw. It was tastier raw. When sautéed, it became too mild, and I felt like it needed more seasoning. While eating, I decided to go back to buy more corned beef. I also remembered they had pate and bacon...

In May 2015, there is a ham and sausage specialty store in Maruyama. There is a parking lot in front of the store. The store name "Noi" means fresh, and they focus on using natural food with minimal additives. They offer ham and sausages smoked with cherry wood chips. Inside the store, there is a showcase filled with various hams and sausages priced per 100g, which may be a bit confusing. The staff explained that for sausages, approximately 2 pieces equal 100g. They asked about preferences and recommended some items. The Frankfurt sausage, the juiciest and thickest sausage, was recommended grilled. The miso sesame sausage, with a strong sesame flavor, was also delicious. The Japanese-style sausage with shiitake mushrooms, ginger, and green onions had a soy sauce flavor and was very flavorful. The stick salami, a hard type salami made with wine, was recommended as a wine pairing. The picnic salami, a soft salami made with pork in sheep casing, was also tasty when grilled. All the sausages were delicious, but since they are natural foods, they don't have a long shelf life. I would definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

After enjoying a delicious curry, we walked back to Maruyama Koen Station and came across this place that caught our attention on the way to the curry restaurant. It's Noi Essen at Maruyama Koen Station. Upon entering the store, a lady who seemed to be the owner greeted us. It seems like the business is run by a husband and wife. Through the glass showcase, we could see the husband preparing sausages in the room at the back. We didn't receive any recommendations from the lady, so we chose our items through the showcase window. It felt like a long period of contemplation, like in a game of chess. The purchase is based on the price per 100g, so it's not affected by the size of the items. This time, we tried the following items: - Garlic Sausage: It had a good balance of flavors with a nice garlic taste. - Monk Garlic Sausage: The monk garlic flavor was strong and unique. - Picnic Salami: A straightforward salami with a light and deep flavor. - Stick Salami: A more intense and hard salami with a unique and addictive taste. - Liver Paste: A straightforward taste that may be divisive. Overall, we enjoyed the unique and delicious flavors. Next time, we will try their corned beef and other items. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by a shop after buying my favorite "Pose Pan" to get some snacks to go with the bread. The blinds were partially down, making me wonder if they were open, but they were indeed open for business. - Date and Time of Visit: July 19, 2014 (Saturday) in the evening - Purpose: Purchasing snacks for home - Order: Liver paste (329 yen), German mustard (230 yen), Garlic sausage (216 yen), Spanish sausage (231 yen), Roast ham (537 yen) - Waiting Time: Immediate - Review: The liver paste was too strong for my taste, as I forgot that I don't like liver. My husband enjoyed it though. The mustard was great with sausages and mixed with balsamic vinegar for lamb chops. The sausages and ham were a bit pricey but definitely of higher quality than supermarket brands. - Recommended Points: They also offer gift items, cheese, and prosciutto. It's a bit far from my home and a bit expensive, so I can't shop there often. However, everything was delicious and paired well with bread and sparkling wine.

I first visited this place five years ago and now I go about twice a month. It's really delicious, and out of all the places I've tried, this one is the best. While many places have a jelly-like texture, this one feels like real meat. I may cheat with other places, but I always come back here. I always think, "So this is how delicious corned beef can be." It's so tasty. The corned beef and cheese bratwurst are delicious, and the pork loin is amazing too. The jerky is also tasty. The flavors are rich, making it perfect for a snack with alcohol. Corned beef also goes well with rice. They also sell cheese. For first-time visitors, the staff may not be very friendly, but they are not bad people. They sometimes give you extra without saying anything. Just try the food because it's amazing. My top recommendations are the corned beef and cheese bratwurst.

In December 2012, Noi Essen is a specialty store for handmade ham and sausages. It has been around for quite some time. While many small ham and sausage specialty stores have been acquired by larger companies in recent years, this independent store continues to thrive. There are no branch stores or affiliated shops. It is a store that has been loved by customers for many years. I visited the store after a long time. The store is located in the Maruyama area of Chuo-ku, Sapporo, along the circular road. For the exact location of the store, please check on Tabelog. I visited around 4:30 PM on a weekday. The days have gotten shorter, and it was quite dark outside at 4:30 PM. Although it is a small store, there were two customers before and after me. Customers come to buy regularly. I usually buy ham and sausages. This time, I bought something new for the first time, "Corned Beef." I decided to buy it after reading a review by a great reviewer, who walks the path of an old man. It was on sale. I also bought a few other items. Liver paste - Pork liver paste. A soft taste, delicious flavor. No unpleasant smell or strange taste. Even my companion who usually doesn't like liver said it was delicious. It's best to eat with French bread. It goes well with beer or wine. 100g for 320 yen. The liver paste here is delicious after all. Corned beef - 100% beef. You can taste the flavor of beef. Unlike canned corned beef, it is not greasy. It has a gentle taste. It is a taste that you can eat as much as you want. Sold by weight at 590 yen per 100g. Beerwurst - Thick handmade sausage. As the name suggests, it goes well with beer. Slice it and eat it as it is. It's like a salami, but softer. It has little fat and is very easy to eat. It lasts quite a long time. 1 piece for 470 yen. When you think of a sausage costing 470 yen per piece, it may seem expensive, but considering it as salami, the taste and price are understandable. The secret to its popularity is definitely its deliciousness. The liver paste is indeed delicious. The corned beef I tried for the first time was also a satisfying taste. In the snowy, secluded northern city of Sapporo, we spend a lot of time at home during winter. It goes well with beer, wine, and other drinks while keeping warm at home. I will have more opportunities to enjoy it. It was delicious, thank you.
